COLD
More importantly I have a Bay Trail Windows 8 tablet with 2GB RAM but going from 8.0 to 8.1 update 1 had dropped memory requirement and when I looked into system monitors of my 2GB RAM there was about 1GB in use with 1GB free with light workload (Firefox with about 6 tabs plus Microsoft Word). Perfectly nippy system with office work and general browsing. I would say very hot for an 8" tablet. I believe this is the cheapest Windows 8 computing device I have ever come across, fabulous value as the hardware is pretty much well tested in the Android world, though not a famous brand.

It's hot for what it is, though - given it's teh same price as a Galaxy Tab 3 pretty much.

Had issues before and they did not want to sort it out , Buyer BEWARE
Fun fact : My Dell V8P right now is using 1 GB of RAM for most basic things, mail, dropbox, and one tab of IE in metro mode(Yeah, I use IE because it is the most touch friendly browser and it is suprisingly decent and yes I do have firefox and chrome installed as well).
Now you can imagine what kind of madness they are trying to brew right now. Either they are going to pull crazy stuff like RAMDISK or maybe they have another technology to handle this then it'd be fine but if they are just leaving as it is, you're gonna have a bad time....
Probably, but remember this is windows so you can mount the sd card (assuming it has a slot) as a physical disk or a folder within the main system disk, so it's not like the problems you get with Android and it's handling of cards.
Also, Windows is pretty effective with a swap file and since the 'hard drive' is solid state, it should be a whole lot faster, so I'd expect it not to be so poor as a desktop running with 1GB ram. Unless you are insane enough to want to run Photoshop, SQL Server or do any video encoding.
Personally I'd want to spend the extra £100 or so and get a Latitude 10 from the Dell outlet site, because these are superior in every way and I wouldn't buy from this supplier, but if something like this turned up at a UK outlet it would make a reasonable tablet with far better capabilities than anything Android.
If buying this, make sure you install the 8.1 upgrade before anything else, otherwise you might struggle to find enough free space. 8.1 on a tablet is very much worth the effort.

well, I wouldn't risk anything over £10 on these type of companies!
A site that barely anyones heard of, can you really trust that? Only positive I REALLY sorta see to this is the IPS screen which means its probably has decent viewing angles but personally your better off spending a couple more extra and getting a branded Windows tab, not a cheap knockoff.
FocalPrice is extremely well-known on this site. They're kind of like DX. I've used them loads of times without any issue at all - buying cheapo tablet and phones around the £40-60 mainly - and I've never paid import duty on them either. Delivery is faster than DX. I've never had to do returns with them, so I can't comment on that.
Something strange there, windows 8.1 requires 16GB minimum (you're ok there) and if you're updating requires 3GB space (again you're ok) - even if you were going for 64bit (requires 3.8GB) you'd be ok with 4-5GB left. Are you sure that's how much space you've got left, that it's not consolidated across two or more storage devices, and you're going through a standard update?
Only niggle is that it requires a clean install rather than an upgrade, as it messes around with the partitions. But maybe useful for some...
What does that have to do with a Windows tablet deal? Serious question

That may be but I'd have a Surface Pro over an iPad any day (even with the price difference)
But to be honest, I'd rather separate the tablet and desktop experiences, because they're very different. An iPad would be almost fine for my tablet needs but I couldn't get away with not having a 'proper' laptop (15.6) to do 'real' stuff on.
But my opinion is that unless your use is very as I said then I would suggest that you get a 32GB version Windows 8 tablet.
