Either way, 3000 difference (without knowing what chips you compared) isn’t a lot in the scheme of thingsThe biggest single change in PCs in the last decade has been SSDs, that will make a 10 year old PC fee quicker than a brand new one with a mechanical drive. That’s why I don’t think an older i7 is a bad thing at all, it’s just not necessarily better than an i3 or i5 from the same generation.

I Don't disagree that there is more to look at I got an old i5 Lenovo t430 and with a 120ssd it's perfect for daily tasks.

my original point was and still is people need to get over the i7,i5,i3 banding as it's just Intel's marketing making a difference and in that respect benchmarking does give you an idea what it will handle. I would say 3k is alot it's 60% more power then the old i5 as for models first results on Wikipedia for i7 page and lowest price i3 for now

There's a multitude of free VPN's out there for the Android Platform.

But out of interest, if this was to be used to stream film's from various sources via the Windows element of this Tablet, my question would be, is there any decent Windows VPN's out there that can then be used for this Windows Tablet? Speaking of things dual-boot/multiple platforms or whatever, got me thinking ...

Is this 'system' strong enough to accommodate a virtualised version of Mac OS in Windows via something like Virtual Box, VMWARE Player, etc etc?.

Or would their combined individual system requirements end up killing this Windows based Tablet?.

Typical programmers making a mole hill look like a mountain.
Just use a download manager in Chrome as suggested in the 1st method on the deal link.

Newbie (Dummies) guide to downloading all eBooks:

Get the Chrono Extension for Chrome.
Open the Manager in Chrono and go to settings. Make sure 'Download URL from Clipboard' is selected, you should also disable most of the popup and notification (remember to switch them back on afterwards).

In Chrome settings -> Advanced -> Downloads, change the default to where you want to save the books (eg. downloads/MS-eBooks), disable 'ask where to save each file before downloading'. If there is an option to automatically open downloaded files for know file types, click it to remove it.

Get the url txt list: ligman.me/2tk…D2V select all and copy.
In Chrono hit the + icon then Start. Now sit back and relax, content that you've just hoarded a tonne of books you'll probably never open.

Tip, test first with just copying 4 or 5 links, then do the rest if they go smoothly.

Glad it finishes just before the GDPR comes in to effect, will be a nightmare having to rewrite. The govt dept we work for still use internet explorer 6 for their corporate software as it's cheaper to pay MS for bespoke support than pay the likes of Fujitsu, dell and us to rewrite our software to make it compatible going forward. The idea of having to redownload 20-50gb between machines or even when a Windows update or any other issue breaks the files on your existing machine is beyond ludicrous. I can't believe Microsoft haven't addressed this when they sell such huge games.

I've tried several VPN's (the last 2 being freebies from this site), and they were incredibly slow and didnt even work half the time. My recommendation would be Tunnelbear. Its by far the best VPN imho. You can get it either as a download or an extension for your browser and connects to a new location instantly.

Worked in IT since 1992.
Got 2 of these.
Had one a year.
First thing I did after the Windows update was change settings to "metered connection" to stop the CONSTANT un necessary Microsoft updates.
Over 2 minutes from boot up to using the internet?
Unbearable after a couple of months?

Wow, maybe I'm just lucky.....

Yes there is better, yes there are faster, but for our needs these hit the spot.

Do you have the oculus or the rift ?

I do have the oculus rift yes. It's fantastic and I've had no issues with it but I'm hoping this is even better. We'll resolution wise because nothign can beat the oculus touch controllers imo

Are you sure about that? With Square Enix?

Seems to be the sale price for all other FF games and the XBONE version is ~£10'ish now, so the PC versions of late release games normally drop quite quickly. Guessing this is due to fans of the series buying into the console version and the PC sales being lackluster???

Sooooooo many games in my backlog in any case ... won't harm to wait

Is SD Maid any good?.

Do you have a link from where you downloaded it from also?, thanx.

Ive been using ip vanish and it cuts my download speeds massively. 80mbps on wifi. Enable ip vanish and it goes down to 16mbps an thats if im lucky
What are the speeds and do they keep any logs?
I think this is a good deal, however, there is a comment, that "lifetime" is only for the lifetime of the software approx 5 years.

I have Nordvpn, cost $99 for 3 years. I have it on a NAS, a pc, & 3 kodi devices.

It seems more stable than ipvanish

Thanks, ill give it ago on the PC. One of the things that put me off on the Xbox was purely the load times, made the game feel dull. Hopefully of a half decent PC it will feel a little more fluid. (Although looking at the spec requirments, that's a maybe!)
Had this on the PS4 and the load times on that were very long. Putting this on a SSD is probably a good idea
I’m looking now, I got a spare m2 ssd slot on my laptop so need to decide if to pay £120 for a 512gb internal one or get a external one which will be cheaper and more storage

I concur with the other comments. I use an SSD as my main drive with a USB 3.0 external HDD and the performance is completely fine with games on the external, the only downside being load times.

Hopefully it gets better, but its not a guaranteed thing. I've never had an issue with the oculus gear and I had mine in the first or second week of them shipping, so from a personal perspective its a pretty stark contrast.

( my dreams of multi player echo arena with the wife and a rift/visor died very quickly 😭)- visor itself moves around side to side on your head if you move your head around quickly- sweet spot you can actually focus on in the visor is very small, though to be fair it does look good in that small spot - software is a fudge, it ‘works’, sometimes, with some games, with poorer performance than a rift in steam, if you use third party hacks to access rift software some work, the beach house windows MR seems to eat a chunk of resources It’s fun to tinker with it but if you actually want to play decent games enjoyably rift is the way to go. Only thing I’d choose the visor for over a rift is if you wanted to run VRchat with a mobile setup and didn’t want to carry round the rift sensors, but the visor performance in vr chat is so bad compared to rift I’m not sure I’d pick it even then.

Yeah Bullet Train was a tech demo, while the same team worked on Robo Recall. Cool that they give that away for free too but to Touch owners.

If all you want is a web browser then a Chromebook is fine. I had one for 2 years but after a while, it just drove me nuts because of the things it couldn't do.

Did you have to iron out the problems yourself or was it some sort of …Did you have to iron out the problems yourself or was it some sort of automatic updates, I only ask as I'm not very technical and wouldn't want to fix the issues myself.

Did all the tweaks myself. There are loads of guides online particularly on the techtablets.com message boards, but ultimately there's not that much to do. You just need to change a few Windows settings. If you can follow basic instructions whether online or through a YouTube video, it's pretty straightforward. Would be a 2min doddle for anyone who knows how to enable/disable stuff in Windows. I

In a nutshell, it's basically:
- disabling the MeiMengMeng.Win.Clients service (or deleting if you're paranoid)
- enabling Windows Updates in Windows 10 Settings
- disabling or deleting the trackpad blocker (not strictly necessary as it doesn't do anything anyway)

None of that is any harder than uninstalling the bloatware that comes on Acers, Dells, HPs etc.

In my case, I additionally installed an SSD, re-seated the WiFi antennae, and removed the magnets from the top of the lid. I did alot of BIOS settings experimentation as well eg. 10W power increase, but none of it is strictly necessary for normal folk.

Trackpad surface only feels rough initially. After several weeks of use, it seems to smooth down after you've been regularly rubbing your fingers across it!

Only gripe is that for my heavy usage, I'd prefer a more powerful CPU. For casual users it will be fine though.

Those corporates avoiding tax is not good I agree but it's not tax …Those corporates avoiding tax is not good I agree but it's not tax evasion, this is. The issue with the touchpad is a well known problem and has been discussed at length on Hotukdeals too. In fact, look what a certain Pickard123 said about the touchpad back in September,"Trackpad pointer movement is okay but the sensitivity for two finger scroll and lower trackpad buttons is very poor. No way of adjusting the trackpad scrolling speed either or setting up scrolling zones on the left/right edge of the trackpad. Trackpad surface is a rough texture which I dislike. You wouldn't really want to use the trackpad for long periods anyway as your hand rests on the bottom edge of the laptop which is bevelled and therefore uncomfortable. I decided to use a mouse instead. "https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/31906363You weren't too happy about many aspects of this device, so what's changed since Picard? I trust you're using the same model? It was a bit disingenuous of you to state that I must be using an old model when you had similar problems when you bought the same model. Regards the price, I'll say it again, the normal price is about £194. Plus taxes, delivery charges, the cost of complying with EU safety standards and cost of providing a two year EU warranty I'd say the price creeps up to near £300 RRP.And please don't try and make out this tax evasion is not an issue, the practice is endemic and must be costing fortune, not forgetting that it creates an unfair playing field, making it harder for genuine companies to compete.

The effect is still the same - the UK taxpayer is deprived of £billions in revenue due to tax scamming by those rich corporates. It's on a massive scale as well that dwarfs anything involving this laptop.

EZB3 Pro always has been around £170. Stop making up figures.
