There's a weird online mode where you can hide treasure and share photos. But that's it.

I loved playing this game, played 80+ hours of it so far and haven't even tried online yet. Done most of the DLC's and completed almost everhthing in story mode.

Game looks pretty good, but its boring. It's like WOW, but in offline mode.

I guess it depends on the user. I have less local storage now than ever before. My phone, Surface, and desktop all have 128GB of storage. All three have loads of space left because pretty much everything is stored in the cloud.

I’ve got a few Surface Pros - love the devices. Gven how quickly and easily such a tiny hard drive can be gobbled up, and how cheap SSDs are this year, I find it criminal manufacturers still offer this small amount. Absolute min in my opinion should be 256GB at the same price. I know you can add an Micro SD card but throughputs are nowhere near. The norm 5 years ago for capacity for 500GB (spinners obviously) and I often feel like we’ve gone backwards as not everyone likes to store there stuff in cloud storage as an alternative. I guess with more recently you can get 1TB Surface Pros which is much better.

Will JL price match?! :D

I've got the original Surface Pro with a USA keyboard. Never been a big deal for me. I could have blank keys and type just fine. Still, not sure it's worth it at this price. Why is that a problem?

I sound like a broken record...128GB SSD in 2018...

Opening three words of the product description "The futuristic shape" do me a favour :)

Which review ? If its the one about getting the better monitor its not essential - its just to get the most out of it with it being a high end graphics card :)

Tempting, but the amazon review about having to replace parts doesn't fill me with confidence.

Reasonable spec with good graphics. Stick a cheap ssd in once you know its working properly and its a winner.

Yup no GPU but as I say this was 2015. 3770k was pretty damn good, the PSU was £100-£150, SSDs were pretty expensive and the case is over £100. Add in the RAM and Blu-ray drive, the card readers. Man it felt like an absolute bargain. Solid machine for 2.5 years! And the cables were perfect man, def a pro install by an experienced builder. This is why I think it's worth the risk on CEX... You have no idea of quality of build until received. You can return within 14 days (even to your local store) if it doesn't please. BUT make sure to buy online for extra protection as you don't get that when buying in store. Must be the distant selling regs. Also I see the Alienware 17 R2 with an i7 4th gen, 16gb RAM and a 970m sold already. It was ridiculously low priced at £480.

Oh I thought you said it had a gpu too. Still a great price back then though. A 3770k was probably 300 quid on its own.

Eh you got a custom system with 3770k, 2x ssd and the other stuff for £400?!

I don't get CEX pricing.."-w10-b ^ Alienware 17 R2 with i7 4720hq, 16gb Ram, 970m, SSD Cheaper than R1s with worse specs and same grade of "B".

Ah the deliberate mistake 😋 :p 😝 :p 😋

I don’t need a diktionnary 😝 a 25% increase over the 1050 for the TI is worth it. Yes the 1060 is 100% more powerful but as you say you’re not going to get that at this price range, it just would have been nice.

So with this 240GB M.2 for £44 (not NVMe at this price) would make a speedy general purpose laptop...

When AO messed up earlier this year with our machines, (saying it had IPS when it hadn't,) they gave us £100 refund taking our price to £609. Ours also had 128 SSD + 1TB HDD. The 1060 is ace but I agree that you wont get one for near £600. We were just lucky.

That model number also shows it's a 120Hz panel so I would not be surprised if yours was a TN and this is IPS though.

Yes you’re probably right, I’m not sure what other competition there is around for £900 though as there seem to be some new models being released

Also looking at the very fx504 laptop for 900. Surely a 120hz much better ips screen, larger ssd, and 8th gen i5 are worth the extra £150 or am I wrong?

Yeah me too, want a 1060 6gb around the £700 mark

Does look as if the very one is a better screen and newer processor, both look good to me but £150 more is a lot, I’m looking for one myself at the moment, just a shame there isn’t that much choice at very

I think that's the FX503, much difference between the 2 ?

Bought one and just tried it out. Compared to previous Logitech wireless mouse (m190) which had a quiet "click" when pressing a button, this one is definitely silent.

Maybe. I use a simple USB switcher. Cheaper than this and I can connect to 4 machines instead of 1. I can use my preferred peripherals that way. (y)

So then you know this mouse has saved me buying a KVM switch. Which is what I was trying to let people know with my 'story'

I've never heard of it but Dan obviously has.

The comments made in this thread alone are telling. Most people simply don't know what WMR is capable of. I personally didn't know until the LowSpecGamer released a video on it. The Rift and Vive both released much earlier than WMR and have had multiple articles and videos released about them. You also need to consider how these products got marketed; The Rift and Vive tend to be directed more towards gamers while WMR is advertised more generally and thus might have been overlooked by many gamers. The generalised advertisement also reflects in the hardware given some of the things people have mentioned. It's unsurprising that the uptake is slow, but it is steady based upon the Steam Hardware & Software Survey graph.

Last time I heard it was a 5% share on Steam so still going in the right direction. Personally I stick mostly to the experiences on the mr platform itself as they are closer to the metal - still blown away by how well they have integrated Steam stuff though. Like I say, love you dude and love vr

WMR has a 6.41% share on steam, HTC 44.35% & Oculus 47.43%. This is despite ridiculously low prices on WMR headsets.

Yeah. Used should’ve been £300 max. Given Intel is rumoured to announce i9 consumer chips next month a month’s wait is well worth for a better (then previous) spec laptop.

This model has been reviewed as being quite slow due to the HD in it and poor graphics also IIRC.

I mean writing plurals with apostrophes is wrong :3

Thank yo amour3k Sandra

Now I'm the one actually confused?. How am I wrong exactly?, the OP's Laptop Deal neither states the inclusion of a CD/DVD drive, nor does it actually include one either?. So what am I missing ... But it's cool though, thanx for the heads up anyway. :-)

Why do you write all plurals with apostrophes? Apart from being wrong it makes your post difficult to read. Don't take offence. I'm saying it as politely as possible. I was trying to read your post and the question arose in my mind.

Lol. DDR4 is the type of RAM that this particular Laptop is using - which superseded DDR3, DDR2, and inevitably DDR1 (something along the lines of a Rolls Royce Phantom II, superseded a Rolls Royce Phantom I before it, and a Lamborghini Gallardo, superseded a Lamborghini Murcielago, and a Lamborghini Diablo before that too ... ) Allllllllll arguably/essentially the exact same thing (in their respective genre's ofcourse?, lol), BUT, different 'versions' of such, basically?. As the disc drive you speak of?, sadly NOPE!. :-( No CD/DVD Drive in mentioned in the OP's 'listing' of the Laptop's spec's (nor does the picture of the Laptop itself speculate such neither?). And on eBay website too, there's a lack of/absence of a mentioning of both there too (in both the spec's + in the body of the various picture's posted of it there also). It's an unfortunate demise, yep!, what can I say? (I prefer the whole CD/DVD'concept' thing myself, hehehe). As per my own earlier comment here before: But, what the hay ... :-D

I bought one a couple weeks ago from Argos @ eBay, I got it for £344 using a code from another region. It arrived within 24hours. It arrived looking brand new, factory packaged and immaculate with not even a smudge on it. I’m very pleased with it, it’s quick in use, it boots in less than 5 seconds, has a clear ips screen, great back lit keyboard and amazing build quality. Why buy new? The Base Clock only impacts anything if the cooling is to poor for the frequency to rise above it under full CPU load. If that was true here it would mean the 8th generation in this would run slower than the 7th generation CPU at its base speed. The only 15W i3 chips are Kaby Lake Refresh chips and not Coffee Lake so there is limited scope for improvements in power efficiency if any. I've lost track of Intel's 14nm variants but I think Coffee Lake gets the latest process and not Kaby Lake Refresh but that could be wrong. It's not exactly transparent as both are classed as 8th generation with Intel offering a masterclass in obfuscation

I genuinely believe that despite IPC practically standing still, the efficiency has increased for each generation. I am 99% sure the base clock speed definitely does affect the power consumption! I guess it comes down to whether you would buy a last-gen CPU or not. Personally, I would, but only with a really significant saving.

Which is somewhat arbitrary at best as surely provided the cooling is good enough the base line of 2.2GHz has no real bearing on actual performance and therefore power consumption. This is separate to any process improvements which might improve efficiency and the larger cache could even reduce power efficiency! (4 v 3MB).
