BA and SA usually charge £500-700 (As a minimum! Cheapest I've EVER seen is £480) depending on the season. So there probably aren't many Saudi travellers on here but thought it might be of use to some…

Is anyone having Umrah visa difficulties? We're flying out next week and still haven't received our passports back.

Could you make this an Umrah trip? Just need to organise an Umrah visa, accommodation and transfers I would assume?

Yes, can be for Umrah trip. Confirmed this with 2 Umrah Tour operators before booking myself. The only time Saudi has an issue is if the flight stops in Riyadh before going Jeddah (not sure why, it's a new thing).

And yes, Visas are £60 from many travel agents. Transfers average would work out £250-300 if you took a cab (Jeddah-Makkah, Makkah-Madinah, Madinah-Jeddah). Cheaper if you took coach.

For hotels, I'd recommend using booking.com. They have much cheaper prices than any travel agent. But if you really want to save money, find a hotel when you get there and pay approx. £10 a night. Clean, decent enough, 10-15 minute walk away from the two Mosques.

Your clearly know jack! I have done Umrah 6 times over the last 30 years.

Look at this :

You've been 6 times and that's the character you've developed? Maybe you need to go a few more times.

I have only been once, and that's the advice I can give. If you've got more useful information, that's great. Also, what is it exactly that I don't know "jack" about?

Come again ? How's me telling you that you know jack about Umrah ( from the advice you gave ) got to do with how many times I have done Umrah ?
£10 a night ones are budget motels and not hotels!

1) Any debate has already finished so you're a bit late with your caps lock outrage.

2) I never claimed you could get 5* accommodation with £10 a night. Hence why I said "If you REALLY want to save money."

3) You were boasting about your knowledge of how it all works by exclaiming you've been 6 times - yet you clearly haven't attained any spiritual benefit. I posted something to help people but you felt the need to belittle my advice - and now you swear in the post above. You should've grabbed the chance to book these tickets, another round of 'Umrah might have done you some good. Or not.

Oh? I didn't realize that by doing Umrah , I give up the right to
- swear
- criticize anyone

Maybe now you are gonna invent something amish like you can't look at women after you do Umrah.
