THE DEAD DON’T HURT

In a frontier town run by corrupt forces, fiercely independent Vivienne Le Coudy (Vicky Krieps) embarks on a relationship with the passionate, hard working Holger Olsen (Viggo Mortensen) but it’s one that leads to danger for them both.

With the threat of the Civil War looming, their future becomes uncertain when Holger decides to fight for the Union, leaving Vivienne on her own to face the dangerous threats of the corrupt mayor (Danny Huston), the power hungry ranch owner (Garret Dillahunt) and the rancher’s violent son (Solly McLeod). From writer director Viggo Mortensen comes a powerful new western about love and survival that is both epic and intimate.

This film contains sexual assault.

This film will be shown with descriptive subtitles on screen.

In my local cinema (Reel Farnham) it mentions that “This film will be shown with descriptive subtitles on screen.” Worth double checking your screen.

Really want to see this - especially for free - but not worth the time and travel costs getting to Doncaster or Worksop from Sheffield.

There were still tickets at the showroom last I checked, just by Sheffield station. Pop a Shef postcode in and it should come up as first result

Meant to be monthly. Though the previous screening was in March. Newsletter subscribers are emailed when a new screening is confirmed, but you can set up a keyword alert on HUKD for 'Cinematik' to be notified of announced screenings
