FIGHT FOR SUPER EARTH
Freedom. Peace. Managed Democracy. Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization. These are under attack from deadly alien civilizations, conspiring to destroy the Super Earth and its values. You’ll step into the boots of an elite class of soldiers whose mission is to spread peace, liberty, and Managed Democracy using the biggest, baddest, and most explosive tools in the galaxy. Team up with up to four friends and wreak havoc on the alien scourge that threatens the safety of your home, Super Earth.

The Helldivers must take on the role of galactic peacekeepers in this Galactic War and protect their home planet, spread the message of Democracy, and liberate the hostiles by force.

OVERPOWERED WEAPONS & OVERWHELMING FOES
We don’t send our Helldivers planet side without proper back up, but it’s up to you to decide how and when to call it in. Not only will you have a host of superpowered primary weapons and customizable loadouts, you also have the ability to call on stratagems during play.

In the heat of the battle and your squad needs to take out a massive onslaught of Terminids in one go? You can have an Eagle drop a 500KG bomb, leaving behind only liberated bug corpses. Need to lay down a defensive perimeter? You can call for the Anti-Personnel Mine Deployer to layer the battlefield with deadly mines.
Players can decide how to take down each enemy surge using a multitude of offensive and defensive tools.

As you complete missions, you’ll be able to upgrade your ship and build an even more impressive arsenal. Everything from shield generators to turrets to large-scale airstrikes can be used to give your team the upper-hand.

YOU’VE GOT BACK-UP
They say everything is better with friends. Especially when it comes to raining destruction down on the enemies of Liberty! True to our co-op roots at Arrowhead, we’ve made sure HELLDIVERS 2 has our best cooperative gameplay yet. Collaboration will be vital: teams will synergize on loadouts, strategize their approach for each mission, and complete objectives together. But for maximum challenge and collaboration, friendly fire is always on.

Communicate with your squadmates and make sure those stray bullets and mines take down the real adversaries. Remember that you will return home celebrated as heroes, whether you’re dead or alive.

Helldivers 2 is a fantastic game—but something has to change, because it'll only get harder to balance, maintain, and fix while Arrowhead burns the candle at both ends

    "Dear esteemed HUKD users,

Apologies, I thought my previous list of 10 reasons why you should not buy this game made the position clear.

Are you not also as outraged as I am about Sony and their recent decision making? Need I say more?

    Your sincerely,
    Definitely your democracy officer"

I dunno, sometimes all you have to make a difference is your wallet. If you don't like this inevitable change to needing a ps membership don't buy the games that push it. This time they backed down, but next time they might not.

Not only were a lot of the bugs naked, I felt there was a general lack of diversity between the bugs and mechs

Great game, but I got this for £25.49 from CDKeys back in February, I knew I should've held off.

they have been made too. Users tanked the score so Sony retracted the demand to sign up for PSN

Played it for a couple of hours, was fun.

What wasnt fun was the TKing when about to leave in the shuttle, the 12 year olds playing and the Rampant Team kicking for non other than being rank 5 and everyone else is 20 levels above me(quick game)
    JDK90's avatar
The kicking happens at any level. Im lvl 70 something and it still happens.

For those not in the know:

    1. PC players can buy the game without a PSN account.
    2. Sony then changed it so that to play you do need a PSN account.
    3. PC players downvote the game into oblivion.
    4. Sony says opps, we'll fix this, please upvote.
    5. PC players believe Sony and upvote again.
    6. Sony restricts the game in every country (177 countries) that can't get a PSN account.
    7. PC players in those 177 countries who bought the game and purchased microtransactions, and who can no longer play it, "WTF Sony?!?!?"

So yeah, this deal is to get new PC players to purchase it due to now very low player count.

Edit: So you need a PSN account to play this game. Doesn't say this in the description so here it is. :-) (edited)

This game was £24.49 just last week, so not really a deal.

Also given the boneheaded decision by Sony to still remove the game from sale in over 100 countries that don't have access to PSN, I can only assume they're planning to get away with re-implementing the forced PSN logins at a later date once the negative reviews are reverted and the outrage dies down. This game has nowhere to go but down in price -- especially once all the refunds from unsupported countries are processed. A month or two and it'll be £20 or under.

Game itself is decent, though. Shame that Sony screwed over their most successful and well received PC port to date.
