About Manor Lords PC
Upcoming medieval strategy game for PC that combines deep, organic and realistic city building with large scale, tactical battles.
ORGANIC CITYBUILDING - Manor Lords aims to provide a gridless, organic city-building experience with full freedom of placement and rotation, but utilizing snapping tools to make the planning more comfortable. The building mechanic is motivated by the growth of real medieval towns and villages, where major trade routes and landscape often influenced how the settlement shaped and developed.
HISTORICAL REALISM - While the game is not set in a particular century, every building is inspired by historical references from XI-XV century Europe. Fields must be plowed by a team of oxen, iron bloomed in a bloomery, the sheep herded on the open pastures governed by the Lord of the Manor…This combined with an attention to detail is the key to immersing yourself fully in the medieval fiefdom you rule. The seasons pass, the weather changes, towns can rise and fall to war, disease or famine.
LARGE SCALE BATTLES - Manor Lords aims to portray battles that feel real, with large scale unit formations, morale, flanking, fatigue , weather and equipment all coming into play.
Position your troops wisely. Even a smaller force can beat a large one, if commanded well,
Cavalry, fortifications, units on walls, gunpowder and siege engines (trebuchets!) are a work in progress and will certainly be present in the final game.
HAND CRAFTED - This game is created by a solo developer. You can reach out to me and share your opinions, ideas and criticisms - I listen to your feedback.

Played around 90 minutes of it on Gamepass, and came to the same conclusion a friend who has played 20+ hours on Steam did: it's a very cool concept for a game, but still very much an early access title which requires a good bit of work. Not a terrible idea to buy it now if it interests you as it will likely shoot up in price at full release, but that could be a long ways away as I believe it's a single developer working on it. This game has been in development for seven years and there's not a load of content yet. I bought it and I'm fine with that as I like the direction of the game and wanted to support the one person development team. I suspect it's a few years away from being ready.

mad that we have got to the point where people pay £25 for a single developer to finish the game lol

Notm saying this is right or wrong, but its pretty mad

shows how useless AAA studios have been

Ehh its a skeleton of a potential game. Less polished than most demos. Don't buy it.

Certainly a lot of hype for an unfinished game. Apparently its not even true about being made by 1 person

Of course it isn't. That stopped being the case when he got a publisher and he even said in updates he'd taken on people to do x thing or role.

good fun time sink of a game which i think provides good starting place to launch EA.

BTW, it's not just 1 guy, check the credits, it does look like he's outsourcing to about 20 other people, which seems a lot more realistic but its still really impressive.

It reminds me of Medieval Dynasty, Banished and a bit of Mount & Blade. Good price for a game that you can keep popping back to.

Fantastic game, played 20 hours-ish on Game pass. Like others have said unfinished, but still some fun to be had if you can look past the bugs! Will be brilliant with further dev.

Got it on game pass, graphical wise it's beautiful and you can click on the icon of any citizen and it zooms in behind them and follows them as they work and go about their lives, amazing to do, but it's got supply chain ai problems and you can only progress part way through the game at the moment, farthest frontier started the same and is great now but leaves you with a what next! After building a city, and there's squabbles about the one person statement now

Annoying when you get raided and the fires never go out, even when you demolish and rebuild. Game breaker

I probably will be a little cheeky and will ask for a refund for my original purchase which I bought a few days ago and only played for an hour so far.

Just take it easy on increasing your population till it's been optimised. As soon as my population went over 1k it's gone very slow and unplayable. My PC isn't low end either 5950x and rtx 3080.
