Yeah yeah yeah zzzzz. Not necessarily the case for everyone. Most people are quite happy with 1080p on huge tv's so it all depends on your usage. If you require a higher res, please yourself and pay another £600.

I'm actually quite tempted. I currently have 2 Dell 2007WFP's. Granted they're IPS panels but I could do with some more desk space!

Personally i find it butt ugly and with no wall mount a no go for me...

however each to their own in terms of taste and a great price.

Im running a ProLite 27" at 1080p and find it more than enough for my needs. Would of loved the extra real estate in terms of pixels, but those cheap Korean imports didnt quite do it for me and i would of always looked at it thinking should of gone quality 'Apple'. Like i say though each to their own, as long as you are happy with what youve got whos to tell you any different.

You can get a 2560x1440 monitor from Korea for £224 including customs fees... So I dunno where you come up with £209.99 + £600

I agree with the other guy...

    5" phones with 1080p
    10" tablets with 2560x1600.

And the mainstream for desktop monitors is still 1080p...

I find that hard to believe. I paid £260 for mine from Overclockers. It was a DGM monitor, so unknown brand but it's quality. The notion of paying £800 for a 2560x1440 res monitor is totally absurd.

1080p at this size isn’t a joke, currently sitting in front of a Samsung P2770HD and it has all the screen real estate I need. For the price this is not bad at all, just look at it and as for the 27” IPS monitors for £200 you can buy on ebay, they use lower grade panels the likes of Apple and Dell reject.

    Have some heat!

Lol my super duper iPad2 only lasted 7 months thanks to a failed LG IPS display. With the Korean monitors there’s just too much risk involved and some of the cheaper listings advertise the fact you’re paying for a low grade product (even though it’s cheap for what it is) I would rather pay the extra £70 and buy a DGM with a warrantee and some comeback if I really wanted a WQHD monitor.

I bought a yamakasi 2560x1440 27" monitor and so did a guy at work. Great quality, if I remember rightly I got charged £13 customs. It's obviously a risk getting it imported but it worked out well for me.

I personally lasted two weeks with a 1080p 27" monitor until I decided to sell it. I paid an extra £270 for a 10-bit Hazro but boy was it worth it.
As people have pointed out, you can get one of the Korean IPS monitors from eBay for around £215 - £220 including import fees, etc. Once you see the image quality, you'll never go back to TN. Just make sure you don't buy a glass tempered one as it'll probably be in bits once it arrives.
For piece of mind and an actual warranty, spend the extra and get the 27" DGM as previously mentioned in the thread.

Agreed. 1080p is fine for 21" and maybe 23", but anything larger and it just looks blocky. 2560x1440 is a lot more useful.

I just wished 2560x1600 was available for less than 4 digits...

loving the design but the resolution is too low. I have a 5yr old iMac which is 1920 x 1200 and might look to get a mac mini and separate monitor. Do they have a higher resolution version of this?

I've removed the product description as it seems to be for the "V" model and not this "H" model. Difference between the two, from what I can tell is 1 v 2 HDMI inputs which has forced me to cancel my order as I really need 2 with it not having a DVI input. Shame but still a great price for this model.

HDMI splitter for £13 from Amazon can fix that

I was tempted at this but 1080p does suck a bit. Sexy but specs not great. Gutted i never got the overclockers dgm now though. However a 7970 3gb for 199 was epic. And i want a 3d monitor for my gtx 670. Good deal for the product itself but its not a great bit of kit.
