£2.50 off or Free 3 months for existing o2 Broadband Customers

290°

FOUND BY: masai 1 month, 1 week ago

STARTS: 01/10/2009

This is more of a heads up for existing o2 Broadband customers who have passed the initial 12 months contract or nearing it.

It seems o2 run different promotions each month to keep us with them.
I rang up on Saturday and told them I was thinking of leaving and was passed to the retentions department who offered me either:

- 3 Moths free broadband
- £2.50 off for the next 12 months.

The only catch was that you need to sign up to another 12 months which I didn't mind at all as I receive a fantastic service.

If you already get the £2.50 discount for having an o2 Mobile contract or Pay as you go then it would wok out cheaper to get the £2.50 off a month as apose to the free 3 months. Effectively you will be paying £4.84 a month if your on the 8Meg service like me.

I was delighted, less than a fiver a month for an 8Meg download and 1.2 upload with truly unlimited bandwidth seems amazing to me! I hope you agree?

Coming to the end of my first year with O2. Have had no problems since changing from Pipex and will stay with them but I will ring them up to see what they can offer me.
Thanks for the info.

I'm on O2 8mb Access package and the speeds at night are terrible, pings of 120ms+ and downloads of less than 1meg!

I'm not staying with them!

There LLU service is supposed to be ok though but living in a village i don't have that option!

3 months free until 31st October on quidco website too.

If you subtract the £50 cashback and the 3 months free it works out to £16.06 in total for the 12 months if you're an o2 customer.

Exactly the same as me, can only get Access. Called them up Sunday actually and they didn't offer me anything just gave me my MAC code. They claimed that which ever ISP I go to will be the same as it is the Exchange that is causing the slow down not O2 but my previous ISP was fine. I get 4mb in the day but last night I did a speed check and I was only getting 125k. Joke.

My exchange isn't getting upgraded until March 31st 2010 so if I move now I need to go somewhere who will upgrade me to the faster LLU service in March.

Any recommendations?

Be aware if you are an existing customer and cancel your o2 BB, you cannot sign up on the same phone line as a new customer until 6 months after the disconnection date. this is due to BT charging them lots to reconnect or something

Signed up for 2.50 discount about a month ago, service and speed went down like mad! 16 disconnections in 24 hours! Anyway a few phone calls later my speed has come back, but wireless signal keeps dropping now!

Sounds like you need to reconfigure your router or buy a new one.

Ring them up Jelly Beans. Had a similar problem (both the speed and dropping out) and o2 first of all sent a bt guy round to fix a problem with the line (was free) and then sent me a new router which solved all the problems. O2 broadband on LLU is really good, get 8meg all the time, sometimes even more than, and am only on the 8meg package!

I am noticing the same problems....broadband connection gets disconnected too often and speed is also reduced. I am in the 11th month of the 12 month contract.

There correct in saying itll be the same no matter which ISP you go with as they'll be piggy backing on the existing exchange

if you live in a village then the reason its quite during the day and busy at night is 90% of people are at work and load is higher so there is nothing that can be done

just go with the cheapest and any that offer ADSL2+ if available
