It’s finally here, the Samsung Galaxy S23 — what do we know about the latest edition to the series? And what else happened at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco?
Last night’s Samsung Galaxy Unpacked took place in front of an actual audience in San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium, making it the first in-person event for Samsung in three years. But what were the announcements?
As suspected, the Galaxy S23 Ultra takes centre stage, as flagships often do. It comes with a slightly altered design from the S22 Ultra, a phenomenal 200 megapixel camera sensor, and double the storage at 256GB. The price thankfully remains the same, which starting at £1249 is slightly less than the equivalent iPhone.
The S23 and S23 Plus have updated specs, and they’ve ditched the camera bump for a minimalist design more in line with the Ultra. In fact, the series looks much more aligned this year, all with a floating camera design. One thing of note is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile platform made specifically for Galaxy, a powerful processor for the whole range globally.
There was also a big shout about the new Samsung software, called One UI 5, which sits on top of the Android OS out of the box.
