I have the meaco abc 12Litre. I did my research its a great brand and very happy with the machine. We don't have the damp in our home we had before and clothes dry quicker too when being dried indoors which is good when you can't hang them outdoors in winter. It's surprising how much water it collects in a small amount of time. And it doesn't cost very much to run. I think the meaco range is a great investment.

I have one for over a year now, paid full price, would pay again. It's absolutely brilliant!!!!! And cheap to run too.

I can't seem to see it on the listing but is this a refigerent/compressor type or a dessicant type? The majority seem to say the dessicant type is the way to go?

We have a Dyson Hot+Cool with an air purifier built-in. It makes the world of difference to both mine and the wife's hayfever during peak season.

Go for it.

This is the replacement filter needed I believe.. Rowenta XD6220 – Pure Air Essential 2-in-1 Filter Its £30. I wouldn't say it's expensive.. but then it isn't cheap either. All these purifiers seem to have filters priced between £15 and £50 so it's fairly average. From the reviews I can find spread about (mainly on the continent).. a lot seem to rate it. Rowenta is Tefal (for those interested). I'm tempted to buy it.. convince me otherwise UKHD'ers..

Been looking for one of these but I fall in the same camp of needing to know the filters are affordable!

Did you air purifier make any difference for your allergy?

Normally closer to 100, good price at the moment. Grabbed one last price dip and very happy with it for performance & quality.

I bought this last year thinking it would reduce the dust in the room. It doesn't. I can see that the filter catches fluff but I dont think this is very good at all. I tried to leave a review on Amazon and it said that they had suspended reviews. I wish I hadn't bought mine and I wanted to warn others. It looks and sounds like it's doing a good job but it's not.

Thanks this will be ideal for my bedroom. I have an Electronique one in there at the moment but it's really too big for the bedroom. I've just recently been diagnosed with a severe dust mite allergy at 11.6. Apparently that's off the chart. This is a life saver.

Where do you get the filters from? Couldn't find any on Aldi's website?

"catches viruses...." is highly misleading! the filter catches airborne particles. Plus manufacturers report their ability to clean air in different ways. All in all, by themselves, portable air cleaners and HVAC filters are not enough to protect people from viruses. other best practices must be put in place.

True, we have one at the office which is open plan, perfect solution, however I agree, home use with multiple rooms will be an issue.

Thanks daddy (y)

Yes, look on I’m pretty sure they have a range but they are not cheap.

Does anyone know of any air purification systems you can have in the loft treating multiple rooms?

Thanks I'll have a look. Appreciate the advice

That must be pretty new, first time I’ve seen one in their range! I don’t recall ever seeing a competitors product that is similar. I guess you could try xiaomi or a similar knock off brand?

Dimplex Xpelair Cooling Desk Fan White, XP360CF £45.99 delivered (Members Only) @Costco
Made hot 10th SepMade hot 10th Sep
Features - 360-degree lateral motorised oscillation - Circulates air up to 20 metres away - Three-speed settings

You want something with a filter instead.

Very good fan, got two. Great features (remote, timer, oscillation range, etc). Quiet for the fan speed I'd say, some fans are quieter just because they aren't pushing much air.

Not that quiet. Got a meaco one from costco instead after one of these failed on me and while it's bigger and more expensive it's dead quiet and much better at night.

I had one of these, they're good but it failed after a year or two and repairing it was impossible, really a struggle to take apart even. It's not all that quiet either. Good model for average use but don't expect much of it if you want it on a lot.

Ok the lowest settings it's like a whisper, above that it's definitely noticed. All depends how much it bugs you though. Setting 1 and 2 I could fall asleep to but not the top setting..... Hopefully helps.... (y)
