About this deal

It's nowhere near the cheapest it has been, as I bought one last year for under £110, but I need another and i'd rather get it now than risk being oos or paying the rrp when it gets warmer.

Details

  • Fan of the Year Expert Review Winner 2021
  • Ultra-quiet for comfortable cooling
  • Multi-direction air flow cools the whole room
  • Adjustable pedestal to find the perfect height

MeacoFan 1056P Pedestal Air Circulator takes all the features and benefits of the multi award-winning MeacoFan 1056 Air Circulator and puts them into a sturdy and stylish pedestal that can be moved from room to room and cool the air without taking up surface space.

This pedestal fan is super-quiet whilst circulating the air within your room efficiently and effectively. The fan head quietly moves horizontally, and vertically, bouncing the air off the walls and ceiling to create a pleasant breeze within the room rather than just blowing the air directly at you. This means that the whole of your room is cooled, rather than just one or two areas, making your home or office a comfortable space to spend time in. Also perfect for home gyms, conservatories, and annexe office spaces, the MeacoFan 1056P Pedestal Air Circulator is a great option for areas that become too warm.

The MeacoFan 1056P Air Circulator is near silent. This means you can use it anywhere; watching a movie, having guests for dinner, during meetings, on a date night - whatever you're doing, you can do it comfortably without the noise of a fan intruding.

This pedestal fan has four modes: Normal, natural, sleep and ECO. In normal mode the airflow stays constant at a speed setting of your choice between 1 and 12. In natural mode the airflow moves between weak and strong, to replicate a natural breeze. In sleep mode the fan speed will decrease by one level every 30 minutes until it reaches level 1. Finally in ECO mode, the fan speed will change according to the changing temperature in the room. The magnetic remote control attaches easily to the fan allowing you to change the operation at the touch of a button.

All Meaco products come with a two-year parts and labour warranty, as well as the option of extending the warranty to a total of five years.

I've had 3 of these and they all developed a squeel/high pitch bearing type noise after only a few weeks of use.

We've got two and not had any problems with them. Were yours replaced under warranty ?

Is an air circulator just a fancy way to say fan? What makes it circulate air any better than a fan? (edited)

Probably better said that an air circulator is a fancy _type_ of fan.

It's mostly a marketing term for differentiation, but typical characteristics of an air circulator are improved effectiveness and efficiency which usually result in moving more air at lower speeds using less electricity, meaning they are quieter and more comfortable than a typical fan.

I’ve got the non pedestal one that was 40 quid in John Lewis last year, it was an absolute life saver in the summer last year, like a wind tunnel, and not too noisy.

Yeah they're really good. Wish I'd seen that £40 deal tho

Picked up one of these last summer. Much quieter than the normal pedestal fan I had and cooled the room better as well. Can be set to auto tilt up/down as well as turn left/right to circulate air more effectively if desired as well.

The only problem I've found with these Meaco fans (and maybe it doesn't apply to this one, I got the one on the table top rotating base) but if you put them on an automated on/off power outlet when they get powered back on they do not remember the fan speed or rotation setting that they were on and go back to the default. Super annoying.

This is valid complaint and one I have myself, it's quite frustrating.

Does anyone know if this is the newer model with an improved remote supposed to be released in April 2024?
    Styx's avatar
No, it's not the upcoming new model.

The picture here looks like the one we have from last year. The new one I saw in Costco on Friday and has this black thing in the middle of the stand.

will it switch on with wifi plug?

Just tried this with my non-pedestal version. No, it won't turn back on automatically even if it was running when powered off.

It does have an IR remote with pre-on and pre-off functions though, which has been more than sufficient for me.

I have 2 of the smaller ones and they're amazing. Definitely worth it.

If Carling did fans…we have two and use them over our AC portable unit (edited)
