It has an alarm based on a sensor pad in the cot to tell you if the baby isn't breathing. Ie a safeguard against SIDS
  2. deleted181382's avatar
Stopping breathing isn't the same as SIDS though, so these really do nothing. Even if you responded to the alarm immediately, it's likely you can do nothing for a SIDS case.

Ditto have this too and agree its awesome for peace of mind for parents with new borns! Only had it go off once and that was simply due to the batteries running out as we had a powercut overnight! Hot at this price!!!!

    Excellent price for this!

This has got to be one of the best things we have ever bought. After a terrifying experience with our daughter when she was just a few weeks old (she's a light breather when sleeping!) I jumped straight online and ordered one of these. It's brought great peace of mind, we've had 2 false alarms (thank goodness) where she has rolled off the mat. Great bit of equipment, I'd recommend it to any parent.

Bricked ain't the word mate!!! p.s. a tip for purchasers to make it a bit easier to setup is to watch the online video at the US angelcare website + make sure you place the sensor mat on a solid surface (e.g. a solid piece of card/wood) instead of the cot slots.

Very Good price bought for 70 quid odd a couple of years ago, best baby monitor by far the reassurance it gives is priceless. Heat!

This one works on all Angel Care ones.

But use O7EWO4NA for 33% off Tommee Tippee monitors...

Can't recommend this enough, worked faultlessly for our first child and with our second. Put a flat piece of wood under the mattress to support it to stop false alarms

Is the 20% off voucher just for the monitor or other baby products? Thanks :-)

Is it worth getting the deluxe version with 2 monitors?
  25. deleted685322's avatar
I would recommend also having some neonatal life support training. If the alarm goes off, you need to know what to do. But great product and offers reassurance.

If you need 2 then probably. The parent unit is portable so you can carry around the house with you so for me one is enough
  28. bally12345's avatar
£69.99 for the 2 monitors or £44 for 1 monitor I cant decide the cheapest the deluxe version has been was £79.95 Feb 08, 2011

Great price!!!! Excellent monitor - can't recommend it enough. My sister bought a rival brand for her baby and that monitor has had loads of false alarms.

    Key thing guys:

plywood or very hard cardboard, then sensor, then mattress.

For the last 60 minutes I was reading different forums, vast majority of people claims that it works with foam, latex/coconut, spring mattresses. There are mixed reviews about memory foam. Some people compensate with sensitivity settings. Please do some research before buying to make a better decision.

I think it works with foam ones just not memory foam.

We have one of these - it provides peace of mind and we had no false alarms in 14 months of use.

But these will not help prevent SIDS - there is no evidence of that:

^^No it doesn't prevent it. nothing does! But it does help give you time to get to your child if he/she stops breathing and do something about it.
