Very welcome Jacs!! Thank you so much for returning to the deal thread and updating everyone interested with your purchase success!! Glad you made a super saving and assume somebody is going to have a happier xmas with the difference spent on more HUKD chocolate deals!!! :-)
Glad I took the advice. Ordered 2 and delighted with them. All went well. Thanks again
No, it's not that simple. The iPad mini is using processor / graphics chips that are three years old now. There hasn't been any updates to that model since it launched in October 2015. There is also no Apple pencil support on iPad minis, there are slight differences to some features that have been updated on the newer iPad 9.7" model. You can get 2018 model iPads with sim cards too, just look for ones advertised with cellular option also. Not all iPad mini's have cellular (sim card slot). iPad mini 4 128GB - wifi only - £399 list iPad mini 4 128GB - wifi + cellular - £529 list iPad 9.7" 2018 32GB - wifi - £319 list iPad 9.7" 2018 32GB - wifi + cellular - £449 list iPad 9.7" 2018 128GB - wifi - £409 list iPad 9.7" 2018 128GB wifi + cellular - £539 In all honesty, unless you specifically need something smaller/lighter, there's no real reason to go the mini route. It will cost £10 more for the same spec full size iPad (i.e. storage space / cellular option). You will then have a faster/newer processor and graphics, support for Apple pencil and in general, it is much easier to see/use on a larger screen (for me at least). Also bear in mind that Apple will stop support for some older processors/chips when it comes to iOS upgrades, so the newer iPad will be supported for much longer... A good comparison here: https://www.macworld.co.uk/review/ipad/ipad-97in-2018-vs-ipad-mini-4-3674700/ The last question you want to ask yourself is whether you want to trust eGlobal - I personally will probably order direct from Apple or wait for a discount voucher for Very or something similar. Some people will report no issue, but don't expect any customer support and also, potentially you could be liable for import duty / VAT as it's a Hong Kong based company. Some people on here will report no issue with eGlobal, but just as many do question their practices: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/eglobalcentraluk.com
So advantage of 2018 model in this deal vs ipad mini is you get a slightly bigger screen. Disadvantage is no simcard which seems like a basic feature that has been excluded.
Do I need an iPhone to connect to the internet with this iPad or will it connect to my Xiaomi? Or can anyone recommend a good tablet thankyou x
