Dragon Age: Origins Digital Deluxe Edition (PC) - £29.99 @ EAStore UK (+10% Quidco)

£29.99

163°

FOUND BY: Thorandor 1 month, 1 week ago

My second ever deal, please be gentle. Just add VoucherCodes.com25% as your code at checkout.

Next best prices: £39.91 on ImpulseDriven, £39.99 on Steam or £39.99 for Collector's Edition (with plastic case and without cloth map) from Game.
Please note that this is a download-only offer, with the game's size being around the 16GB mark. EA Store allows pre-loading prior to release date, which is currently unconfirmed on Steam.

Dragon Age: Origins is a dark heroic fantasy set in a unique world. As the spiritual successor of BioWare's popular Baldur's Gate series of games, it uses a pause-and-play tactical combat system. Play in over-the-shoulder mode, or the more tactical top-down view. Dragon Age: Origins features a stunning amount of cinematic dialog. Players will be able to acquire unique party members. These party members will have their own motivations for accompanying the player.

The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the following items:
- Formari Memory Band
- Wardens Keep
- Band of Fire
- ME2 armor
- Stone Prisoner

Plus soundtrack and wallpapers.

Might be worth mentioning that the deal is for the PC variant of this title, and you are required to download the content (that, I presume, will not be a trivial amount of data).

BFN,

Nice find - normally £25 for normal version, but this also has the DLC which is gonna cost around £7 and some extra freebies.

Plus with the probable postal strike - at least you will get this on launch day

Nice find

Remember to burn to DVD when downloaded though - you can only re-download from EA store for 12 months

Can't wait for this to come out! I've already pre-ordered mine on Steam for convenience's sake, but that's an excellent price for a sure to be classic game!

Unfortunately, Dragon Age Deluxe/Collector's edition prices in the UK are something of a rip-off. All this has over the normal version is Warden's keep, Soundtracks and Wallpapers*. Warden's keep hasn't had it's UK pricing announced yet but it's 7USD so probably around £5.

The normal version is £25 (e.g. at Amazon) so the £30 for this after the discount only gets you the soundtracks and wallpapers over the £30 you pay for the normal version + warden's keep. A nice bonus, but not really a scorching deal.

Download size is still uncertain, the single language versions will be on one DVD so download size is unlikely to exceed 9GB.

I contacted EA Store recently to ask how they work and I was told:

You can redownload the game indefinitely .
You don't need the EA Download Manager running to play the game, but you do have to log in once every couple of weeks ('14 to 15 days') to authenticate (I'm not sure it'll happen automatically, is anyone currently using it and can answer whether this is done manually or automatically?)
Apparently the DRM for the EA Store version of Dragon Age hasn't yet been officially decided on.

Oh, and I believe someone else on the Dragon Age Forums who contacted them was told the pre-load is only 24 hours.

*There is some confusion over where The Stone Prisoner is included in the normal UK version as Game and EA Store are implying it doesn't. It seems unlikely, but if that is the case then this'll suddenly become a much better deal.

I remember the Bioware thread, I was the one contacting them (http://daforums.bioware.com/forums/v...rum=135&sp=180 half-way down, 11th response is me). I also spoke to EA's live assistant Vince who confirmed that "so far we have a 24h window, but awaiting confirmation", which could mean that it might be even more?

Vince also told me that Stone Prisoner is not included in the standard UK version but will be available as DLC at a later date.

Could be, but if it is that short a lot of people aren't going to get all of it preloaded in time so it's worth considering if you're keen to play it.

Well Gamersgate UK and Steam are including it, and Direct2Drive has recently updated their page to list it as being included so for digital it's currently the majority vs. the publisher's official store so it could go either way.

Hopefully they'll clarify it as soon as possible, The Stone Prisoner is going to be fairly expensive so it'll make a big impact on which versions are worth buying.

I have asked myself, but I haven't had a reply yet.

Thanks for this Thorandor. Great find. Quidco is tracking it @ 10% of the full price so assuming both discounts can be applied, this brings the effective price down to £26.38. Good good value IMO.

FYI the Collectors and Digital Deluxe editions offer different DLC. The former is a Game retail exclusive (£39.99+7% quidco) and comprises the following bonuses:
* Plastic Collectors Box.
* Bonus DVD with a 'Making of' documentary, Soundtrack, Trailers, Wallpaper, Concept Art Video and Strategy tips.
* 3 pieces of exclusive in-game content - Bergens Honour, Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes and Final Reason.
* Unlockable ME2 in-game item: Original purchasers of DAO will receive the Blood Dragon Armour which will be usable in both DAO and ME2.
* The Stone Prisoner unlockable bonus quest and unlockable character, Shale.
* Band of Fire and Memory Band.

The Digital Deluxe edition comprises:
Warden’s Keep.
Stone Prisoner.
Band of Fire.
Memory Band.
The Dragon Age soundtrack.
Dragon Age wallpapers.
Exclusive Armor

The basic download edition (£34.99 from EA Store) comprises:
* Band of Fire
* Memory Band

Game are offering the same free DLC (the two above bands) for both boxed product (£24.99 +7% quidco) and download editions (£34.99 +7% quidco) of the basic game. Why the download is £10 more is just bizarre.

According to EA press releases Warden's Keep will be US$7 and Stone Prisoner will be US $15 at launch so you will be getting at least $22 of DLC for the approx £3 extra you spend versus the cheapest Dragon Age version.

BTW, these are all based on pre-ordering.

Stone prisoner may be included in the box, see the note on this page for example, so you may only be getting 7USD for your £3. This still makes it the best deal if you're using quidco.

Basically, on top of the normal version.

The boxed CE contains Bergens Honour, Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes and Final Reason as well as the Bonus DVD

The DDE contains soundtracks, wallpapers and Warden's Keep.

This is assuming Stone Prisoner is normally included, EA hasn't given a clear answer for whether it's in the UK version yet.

Memory Band is a general pre-order item, and Band of Fire and other single items are retailer specific items. These single items won't be a big deal in DA, the only major bits are Stone Prisoner and Watcher's Keep (and possibly the Bonus DVD, depending on it's quality).
