The new Ripple range from PowerFreakz not only brings affordable quality but a new radical design whilst still boasting leading edge connectivity, durability and the required portability of a 2.5" hard drive enclosure.

The Ripple effect adds a desirable side to the bland storage market whilst still maintaining functionality and a colour spectrum to suit everyone.

Plug and play - Simply plug the USB connector into any notebook, desktop, or Apple Mac with USB ports and you get instant connectivity.

The Ripple range allows you to connect and disconnect the drive at any time, without the need for any external power!

This compact portable storage device is ideal for all users needing to store pictures, video, music, presentations, graphics or any other file that needs to be backed up or safely stored or transported from place to place without being a drain on your devices power and batteries. Making back-up copies of your files and transporting data from and to work has never been easier or looked so good.

Performance and functionality matched with style, design and exciting bold colors. The Ripple stands out from the crowd!

Its an external enclosure for a 2.5" Sata HDD.

Edit I get my 2.5" external SATA Enclosures from Ebay - they are delivered from America for £4.95 and are excellent quality. So if you dont mind a small wait message me and I will let you know the item number.

Cool - the item number of one is 350267360915

The same design is sold by two or three companies for under £5 - great value and they look good too.

Cheers for that. How much, or rather how long has your experience been?

I am very interested in getting a few of these, but I need to be sure of the quality. Do they compare tho the "readymade" WD and Seagate portable drives?

I realise that straight logic would be that there is no difference between these and the ready made ones, but i want confirmation from someone who actually uses it.

I've currently got 3 of them, one with a 60gig, one with an 80gig and one with a 160gig hard drive in. I've had them 3, 5 and 8 months and they have been flawless. They come with a mini USB to 2 standard USB cables I have never had to plug the 2nd USB in to power them, Id assume that is for bigger drives. They are very quiet (obviously) and I found that they only get hot when you are fully formatting a drive, but thats more the drive than the enclosure. They are strong and made of a good solid material. They do come with screws to secure the hard drive in but I haven't used them at anypoint as the drives sit snuggly and allows for a 10 second or so drive switch if needed.

I have one of these, they come with no instructions so make sure you apply the 2 x sticky rubber pads to the bottom base panel, helps stop the HDD moving about inside . The case itself didn't quite fit together properly for me and a small plastic leg thing snapped off the first time i screwed it together....... other than that it's been great.

Cheap and cheerful!

Thanks, looks good. About to pull the 80gb out of my laptop so may as well use it to transport files around instead of using my iPod.

Rep to you and the OP
