Buying Intel isn't compulsory, I think AMD will always have their place. Besides, not everyone wants to pay the extra Intel tax. I have both an i5 desktop and an AMD A10 FX7500 laptop (not the fastest AMD APU) and they both do everything I need just fine EG AAA gaming, Blender, Photoshop, and general computing etc. Yeah we know that some of the Intel chips are faster, but they're not all automatically better and/or faster and the ones that are usually are much more expensive in comparison to their AMD equivalents. Currently AMD is an attractive option for anyone on a budget, or into gaming, HTPC, laptops, tablets etc. depending on model, of course.

EcumenicalMatter

That doesn't mean much. Maybe they have most failures because they supply the most PCs...

jrw

Around 500 pieces of HP kit here, not a problem, Thin Clients to servers all working fine. On a par with Lenovo and Dell from my previous experience.

onlinejobwork

HP worst PC maker ever, even if I get free it will cost me by fire hazard or battery blast, working in IT field since 12 years and maximum failure is comes from HP, I wish them a backrupt fortune

Unless you desperately need a touchscreen the HP Envy 15-j142na is a much better buy at only £50 more (after cashback).

Unfortunately turned out it wasn't the 4g version despite having LTE which I thought was 4g in the description. I've asked to cancel my order. Seller was Prepay mania on EBay.

mccririck

You got a link for that?

Just ordered one from Ebay using the 20% code for £104

What's the best sim free price at the moment? The best I can find is £128 at Amazon for the black. Has anyone found anything cheaper? Oh and the blue is EE specific but you could always just buy a blue back separately.

I got last week's deal this week because the Web link still worked and the customer services over the phone honoured the price.... 1gb next day delivered.... What I want to know is if anyone else has a not quite perfect back case once the battery is installed?

msharif911

After Christmas I had a Nokia 1520 (Big Phablet Phone) and I can honestly say build quality exceeds anything Apple or Android. Unfortuately I had to sell mine on as some of the Apps I use most were missing certain functionality but hardware wise it is the best phone I have had (I currently have iPhone 6+ and a Z Ultra).

sudha_8in

Last month I got 735 for £12.5 a month with 500 min 5000 texts and 1 gb of data with a free Fitbit worth of £79. Very impressed with the phone and network. At times the connection may not be fast but I am not heavy user of Internet just mails and Facebook. I had a very bad opinion about Nokia phones but I changed my mind now. Navigation is superb in my 735.

RT1981

Talk Mobile don't offer 4g data, so this phone is effectively pointless as the Nokia 630 does the same thing I'd get the Lumia 535 at the same price instead of this, a much better phone. Cold from me

Yeah I mean really - look at the thrilling looking games using it so far! [image missing](_;)

bex85

Yeah I think this could be an issue. I suppose it depends how long the characters stay until rotated. I don't think I've seen a timeline mentioned for this yet. I suppose some players will be able to complete the game within the time frame but, how many will be able to will come down to how long the characters stay in play. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

wellen1981

My understanding is that it will be not quite pay to win but 'buy items to win' with either in-game currency earned by playing (silver) or actually paying real money for currency (gold) to get better items and equipment etc I am surprised none of you made a comment regarding the premise or character/hero rotation ... of particular interest is the carrot dangling bait-and-switch approach of allowing players to use a hero, then having the progress saved, but once the hero is off the free-rotation, the only way to continue that save is to buy the hero (i am assuming either with in game earned currency eg silver or bought for real money currency eg gold) So it looks like if you dont buy the hero you played with, after the free rotation of that hero is over, you cannot carry on where you left off until you buy said hero or wait for months(?) until your played hero is free again. Kinda reminds me of the League of Legends champion rotation but with added contempt for the gamer. Having noticed all this, still gets heat of course for being free but it just doesnt value the gamer as a customer with it's 'held to ransom' approach

nickkelly

Just because its free, doesn't mean its good. I tried 8, went back to 7, then tried 8.1 and went back to 7. I have the Win10 preview on a PC and I wouldn't upgrade to it from what I've seen so far. I'll wait and see what the finished version is like but so far I'm not impressed, its even more 'metro' than Windows 8.

BurkusCat

There's no practical reason why people shouldn't upgrade their operating system to Windows 10. Even people that are on a 5 year old operating system (Windows 7) are getting a free upgrade.

Just thought I should add clarity as there seems to be some confusion and unrealistic expectations. It's Windows IoT (Internet of Things), no GUI, command line only.

cold, this is just news. you make it sound like people can throw away their desktops and use windows 10 on a pi instead lol

Who cares ! Windows 10 free - yay - old post now let's all move on !

norro21

No Microsoft will just see that it has been installed on different hardware and deactivate it either now or in the future, that is why you see a myriad of complaints about people getting locked out. It's not about defending MS EULAs, it is about not wasting your money by giving it to scammers who are selling you something that isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

norro21

The point is that it IS a pirate copy.

Tried window 8 for half an hour and hated it. Came back after an hour for another try and half an hour later Loved every little bit of it and now cant live with out it :) Win 10 will be a must buy/upgrade for me.

schmoog

I sincerely hope they listen to things on the Windows Feedback app, there's a ton of user suggestions accumulating that would really benefit MS is resuscitating... well, refreshing the desktop environment. The general way of things with MS betas is that once you see the UI in beta form, it's usually a good indicator that little will change by RTM. Things just get more stable, which is good... but it always seems like they're not listening outside that.

ramiuk1

With Windows 8.1 it's great, in fact its faster than win7. Yrs the metro stuff is annoying but I'm desktop mode I have had no issues since install.

Rolex17

Windows 8.1 isn't 100% compatible with software which runs happily on Windows 7

xigent

The majority of users don’t like Windows 8 despite the fact that some parts of it are superior to previous Windows operating systems. If Windows 10 includes the superior parts of both 7 and 8 then MS deserve credit for listening to their customers. On a more negative note, they should never have got it quite so wrong in the first place. Having damaged their reputation they shouldn't be too surprised if users adopt a wait and see attitude towards Windows 10.

This doesn't run Windows 8 but Windows RT!

hooksy

Bought the XPS10 a few days ago and I not only haven't missed my iPad I am surprised by how well it works. Yes it's only 1366x768 and it's only a Snapdragon s4 and yes the apps take a while to load first time BUT......it's a great screen, battery is amazing, Windows RT is much better than iOS or Android and the integration with my desktop and Windows Phone is fantastic. But it. You won't be disappointed. Especially bearing in mind the improvements coming in Windows 8.1

papasb

I have seen the ASUS ME400 going for 309GBP on this site - getting that makes so much more sense than this Dell RT device...

PeacePipe

Currently £180 on the Outlet and £191 for the 64GB version.

biglugs1

Sounded great until I realised it is Windows RT. That being the case I'll pass.
