sorted byThat and it looks the business and performs in a better way than the three 1080p screens I had ints in place previously
Not sure I could have paid any more for it as it is, for me at least, hugely extravagant...but for me at least, this is the way forward
First thing I did was update all the firmware and make sure it was set up right. I use it full time for work and also gaming and it's awesome.
This is a solid price too.
For those questioning what hardware do you need I have a 3080Ti and in some games I can max out the 240hz refresh rate. Mostly however it's within the 150-200 range depending on the game.
In short, it's a poop load of money, but I certainly feel I got my moneys worth.
i find it amazing for productivity. I use Microsoft power toys to get perfect instant screen splits and it's brilliant for my needs
but if you're not gaming Id certainly look at one of the cheaper versions like my own...even this one handles some gaming, which I have to say is awesome in games that support ultrawide 32:9
I’ve actually also got a 49 inch Sony XH9505 attached to another of my PCs output (it can actually output to 6 4K screens) , and I use Rekordbox with my pioneer mixer on that screen.
Again, massively over the top but I spend a lot of time in that room.
I am looking to pair my AW3420DW with 3070 if that helps.
Go Ultrawide and you'll thank me. If you have budget look up AW3821DW.
You can say it’s for gaming but I got AW3420DW which is smaller version and mostly use for work from home. 120Hz helps with visuals so I suppose 144Hz on AW3821DW won’t be far from its younger brother and can be served as a productivity display. It’s like iPhone Pro Max prople use but doesn’t have to game on it. (edited)
That's the Neo G9, the successor to this monitor
If I keep talking to you guys I'm going to go bankrupt and my wife will leave me because I have spent too much on tech! But you guys have some crazy good ideas. Thanks for the inspiration!
Dude. Your setups are sick! I have to stop looking at them and remember that I started out with an Amiga with a CRT! Oh how the future is even better than Marty McFly could have imagined!
Totally awesome! Thanks for the ideas. I'm not a gamer. I need screen space for mixers and synths for my hobby... FL Studio and music!
Kinda my plan. Not oled but I have a 4k 32" on a high monitor mount, and am getting a 49 UW to put underneath
The latest Neo G9 with better HDR is twice the price and dogged by issues so I don't know why somebody linked reviews on that - (there are rumours of a Micro LED or OLED replacement from Samsung in development to replace the NEO) -
Neo G9 is twice more expensive than this one.
Need some context of your usage.
If it's used for creating Excel spreadsheets, I'd imagine it's nothing amazing compared to having it as a Sim Racing monitor.
So you saying they haven't even improved on this new model which she explained all the issues briliantly.
Buddy, it's an entirely different model with pretty different issues. HUB has been raking Samsung over the coals to fix it. Hope this helps.
What a shocking piece of kit.
Exactly, in its current state these 49" are simply beta products at their best and it needs a couple more generations before it's ready for mass consumption (edited)
Well just watching his Final Thoughts it's still not a fully recommended product and even he went over lack of confidence in brand and issues with quality control despite me sharing a different model. (edited)
I run a AW3420DW alongside a SW3422DWG from a single 2080Ti with no issues whatsoever. I game on the AW (mainly FPS) while running browsers or streaming on the Dell.
Thanks for that.... I didn't want it for gaming. I just want a crazy setup for productivity use. Back to my first idea of a central 32 inch 4k landscape and satellite monitor(s) in portrait. It's a shame as I wanted this as a more elegant solution.
Want something like this.... So I thought the LG 32 UltraFine and 2 something else... Maybe Dell.... But not sure about GUI scaling if the middle monitor is running in 4K and the satellite portraits in 1080p.... I have heard Windows doesn't scale well with multiple displays running different resolutions.
That looks rhe part!
Thanks I will google it now!
That is nice. But is this more for gamers? I can imagine it is a way better panel than the Samsung though. But smaller and lower resolution horizontally... I think if I get this I would need to get 2 panels in portrait each side to achieve my dream! But it would make an amazing centrepiece! Thanks again. Need to go and think about what would work for me but as always thanks to all the kind, knowledgeable folk here for all the help and advice. Much appreciated.
My word. Thanks! So much to think about now! But you're right... Ultrawide has to be done!
Or have both.
