I'm a PES boy to the death, but I find this game terrible. Feels clunky, and samey.
Never thought i'd say it but I regret buying it.
Same here mate and last year was the first time I only bought PES and not FIFA. I loved the demo but the actual game feels exactly the same as last year. Very laggy online which kills it for me, that and the fact it has crashed inexplicably at least half a dozen times. There are also glitches in a certain stadium where you can't see your player on the near touchline when you take a free kick. I imported the PES World option files and they are superb I must say. I'm still going to keep it but I'm also going to buy FIFA as I really enjoyed the demo and the Journey offers something a bit different. Shame Newcastle aren't in the Premier league but I could always underperform to get a loan move to the hallowed ground. Bottom line is offline PES is polished but a little samey, online it's atrocious and Konami don't put enough resource in to fix that.

I have to say. I take my comment back, PES 2017 is decent, gave it abit more time. Just got to be patient. In FIFA I'm used to the pressure defence pushing players off the ball (which is an awesome job done by Fifa, which should be implemented in PES).

But yeah, PES plays very well
It was £26 in my local yesterday but I didn't have my clubcard vouchers with me so I thought I would come back the next day... only to find out it's back to £36 now :( And I got a £3 off £20 purchase voucher in Tesco yesterday too, should have just bought with cash, but oh well.
I need better Myclub players!!! How has everyone got Messi and other top quality players. I got Bale , who is being beaten for pace by everyone......
Popped to my local one too and it's back at £36,knew I should have gone yesterday

Shock horror!

Usually amazon price match any deals, but amazon is showing at £36 as well.

So i guess it really was £36 not £26.

Sorry for your bad luck pal, but I got mine for £26 yesterday despite it showing £42 on the shelf. Have the receipt for proof if needed.

There must be around 65 million PS3's and Xbox 360's still in people's homes even if you take away 20 million from the total of 86 million PS3's and 85 million 360's sold. Xbox One 22.5 million so far and PS4 43 million so there are a lot of people that either simply refuse to upgrade as yet or maybe cannot afford to or have a backlog of last gen games to play first. I think it's sensible to make PS3 and Xbox 360 copies of popular games for another year or two. Often they seem to depreciate far less than PS4 and Xbox One games.
£29 for Xbox 360..
Would rather put the money towards a current gen console.
same price for ps3 too!

Not sure why people hating on you because your right. Pes has been trash ever since the start of last gen. Last good one was on the ps2.
I would of agreed with you 2 years ago, I went from PES to FIFA in 2008 because PES had lost its way, but there were signs last year that it was getting back to the quality it was know for in its PS2 days and PES 2017 is absolutely brilliant. For you to call this years game trash would suggest you're judging it without even playing it, so in that respect you don't know what you're talking about. This years PES is fantastic, and anyone who has played it will agree. FIFA 17 is also very strong this year but it's nowhere near the gameplay quality of PES 2017

Thats interesting. Funny thing is I just played the pes 2017 demo and it feels like a fifa clone now as it feels like i'm playing fifa 16 again. Just without the licenses. Lol. At least before it was trash. Now its trash and unoriginal.

I'd wait for the reviews. As has already been said, this is similar to last year where it uses the old ps3/xbox 360 graphics engine with a few bits thrown in from the proper PS4/XBONE version. The PC version is just an after-thought for Konami and, imo, until they treat the PC in the same way as the current consoles (like Fifa does) they don't deserve our cash.
Few year old edition (Konami port the older console version) may as well buy 2012 and use save edit for transfers

I preordered Unchartered 4 with Smyths and got it 2 days after release
Customer service was terrible and blamed me for picking standard shipping
Does it say they guarantee delivery on release day? If not, then I blame you too for expecting it.
I have to say that when I was younger, I was gutted when things didn't turn up on release day, but now I'm older and realise there are more important things in life. I pre-ordered this from another retailer for £33.
Personally I think pre-ordering games is a bit dumb, you are gambling on a company delivering something close to what you hope for without it being overly buggy, which we all know isn't usually what happens with hyped up releases. Having said that I do understand why people do it, the hype surrounding a game makes people want to get it and play it before there are 1001 internet videos and topics potentially spoiling the game for you - basically the advertising for the game worked. So I have to ask, why pre-order a game if you don't even care if you get it on release day?
The reason I pre order games. Is because There is really only 2 or 3 places I can go to on release date and pick up a game. GAME who will probably want like £45 for say PES 17. Or Grainger Games who will probably undercut game by a pound or 2.
Or I can just pre order a week before release online and get the game for much cheaper than the high street.
My question though was why preorder if you're not even bothered about getting it on release day? You may as well wait to see if the game lives up to expectation if you're willing to wait a few days, or even wait a few weeks for a £5-10 drop in price.
When I pre order a game I do expect to get the game on release date. This is why I stick to the likes of Amazon or Simplygames as these have never let me down on getting a game to me for release date. Not only do they get me my games on release date. I am also saving a decent amount of money than buying from the likes of GAME or Tesco. Sometimes upto £10.
Another good example is I have also been using GameSeek recently for new games. In the 3 orders I have made with them my games have turned up on the day of release. One of them games was Uncharted 4 and it turned up 4 days before release. It was also £10 cheaper than the high street stores.
Plus there sister site sellto.com is amazing for trade in. Better than CEX for older games. Last week I traded in Destiny for PS4 (taken king box) and Destiny (vanguard box) for £24. CEX only offered me £4 each.
But my original comment was directed at someone who wasn't bothered if they got the game on release day, yet preorders anyway, it wasn't directed at you - my second comment was to highlight that point. As I said, even if I find preordering a bit silly myself, I understand why people would do it - at least until getting the game on release day is removed.
Of course I want the game on release day, but it's not the end of the world if it comes a day or 2 later. And your point about waiting a few weeks for a 'possible' price drop is a bit daft. You could say that about anything. And I refuse to wait for reviews too because I don't believe them this day and age because most are swayed by one thing or another - read into that what you will. I have played the demo, it plays very similar to last year's game, with some new additions, and that is a good thing in my opinion as I loved PES16.
All this equates to money well spent. I couldn't spend £33 on many things and know I'm going to get a years enjoyment from it, but I'm pretty sure I will with this. Not sure why you can't understand that.
The person you replied to pointed out that, in their experience, Smyths are poor for preorders based on delivery time. You dismissed this siting age means a delayed preorder doesn't matter. Without getting a preorder on release day (or earlier), what benefit do you get from preordering?

My comment about waiting a few weeks for a price drop was just an off-hand one, but if you have the patience and willpower you will often get a better game (patched up) for less money. Very few items drop in price as fast as most video games and PES tends to drop considerably once FIFA is released.

It's up to you if you don't want to use reviews, but it seems a bit silly not to use the vast array of resources on the internet to see what the general consensus is about a game and potentially avoid a game that won't live up to expectations. That usually only requires delaying a purchase by a day or two at most and a lot of online companies will deliver next day so you can still get a good price (i.e. one that is lower than the high street).

So, in summary, I can understand why people preorder even if I would only consider it if I'd already seen reviews, but preordering without getting the game on release seems a pointless endeavor. Whether you are 90 or 10 years old, you are missing out on one of the major reasons to preorder if it doesn't turn up on time, so I would say the initial comment holds a lot of weight and shouldn't be dismissed so easily. Would you really stick with the same company if your preordered games were always a couple of days late?

Played a few games and you will be pleased to know it plays quicker than the Demo, looks fantastic and Liverpool are Liverpool! Only downside is the teams are well out of date, ie Benteke still at Liverpool.
Very pleased with this so far, live updates not on yet so can't play My Club properly.
Mines out for delivery today from Simply Games!!!!!!

I played the demo last night, my keeper made the most incredible save I've ever seen on a console game, tipping a deflected shot on the post. I replayed it about 6 times....my biggest problem with 2016 has seemingly been fixed.

It was the biggest problem last year and they've changed it by adding super keepers. Crazy, crazy saves during my play of the demo too. Great to see. Very difficult to score = more celebration for each goal you score. Like the good old days.

They need to stop making games for the old consoles now, holds the new ones back
By that logic, they need to stop making games for consoles all together, holds the PC back.
Even the Wii is still getting new games.

Back to its best last year? Did you even play online!? It was a disgrace.
I did indeed and yes it wasn't great online. Did you ever play a mate 1v1? A master league against the computer?? All the tweaks from control of the ball to the AI of the team were miles better than before. A step in the right direction. Hopefully they will work on the online lag, which i think you're referring to.
I agree the offline gameplay was great, a slight improvement from the best PES (2015). But most people play online mode these days and the lag is bad enough but the gameplay itself was completely different from offline mode. The first touch was horrible, the keepers were non-existant and the constant through ball spamming as well as poor defemding mechanics....the list goes on...
Very true indeed. I heard it was one of the things at the top of the list to get sorted this year. I love online mode too but it was pish! If they can sort the roster update issue at the same time it will be a belter of game.

What do you mean? This post is about downloading the demo from the American Xbox store.
Buying demos is a thing of the past although PS Plus, Xbox and Steam have their own sorts of paid demos.
It's still a post about a demo in the freebies section. I've never paid for a demo in my life.
This has no RRP so where else would you put it? Demos are put in freebies or maybe misc sometimes but only select people visit misc. heat from me and the demo is brilliant, FIFA 17 got its work cut out this year again.
As far as I can tell, it is free. What better place to put it than freebie's? smh

well this is the cheapest I've seen it for xbox one! I know the ps4 version is cheaper on tgs. I prefer the analogue placement for pes on xbox. The special edition ps4 sort of tempts me, think I'd struggle with controller though.
Excited for pes 2017 after pes 2016 put think ill skip this one, good news for ps4 owners getting a special edition and a kick in balls for xbox one owners it seems this year.

Think the cold votes will be because of TGCs code (Today only) for 11% off which makes this £32.89 at TGC. Simply Games is a great merchant though. You may get it early with the them.
Cold voting would be the fact that pes is £30 every year on release so this is high and its cheaper elsewhere at the minute.

PES 2017 £32 on release day, 50p a week later in bargain bins everywhere and free with every console sold thereafter.
Useless comment with NO credibility. PES 2016 is a fantastic game of footie. I will admit that the game is a bit 'square' without proper club kits & names -but a quick google search last year found this GEM of a site. http://www.pesworld.co.uk/p/pes-2014-files.html Basically, you can download all premier league kits & more for free to a usb drive (£5 in argos), then plug the drive into ps4/xbox & upload kit data in PES settings screen. You can change team names also on settings screen.
Can only do that on PS4 man. This year you can download a full option file so everything will be updated and licensed from day of release
Ok- if true then sounds like PES has cheekily got on terms with FIFA & 'overridden' their licensing rights etc..with an after-purchase download.
No I mean by using PES Worlds created kits etc it will look like the real deal anyway
"Looking like the real deal" isn't the real deal tho is it ? You wouldn't buy a white polo shirt & claim it's an England shirt just because it's white. Youngsters WANT the real deal in PES like Fifa has. Like the logo, emblem, sponsors name & proper designed kit. If PES had the same licensing rights it would catch up with Fifa's sales.
suggest you look at Glen's work on PESWorld as it literally is the real deal. the kits are identical and have all badges, bells and whistles.
. That's EXACTLY what i was referring to ! The link is in one of my posts above. The kits are fantastic. But not many players know of the website & the PES game/book has no reference to direct users there. UNTIL i updated the kits & team names PES felt like playing with sunday league teams.

99.9% of PES fans know about PES Worlds kits and in 2017 I know for a fact that it will be much easier to add all the kits, emblems, competition names, managers and stadium photos from day 1.

I prefer having the option to change the kits as and when rather than being stuck with kits that are embedded in-game.

in my opinion it's way better than Fifa. But please note that the national teams don't have the same players that went to the euro... they didn't update the rosters...

Very true. However, download an option file from here and you'll have correct kits from around the world, updated team line ups, team names all correct, adboards for the Prem, everything you could want.
Turns the best version of PES for years (imo of course) into an even better game;

http://www.pesgaming.com/forumdisplay.php?f=390

as far as I remember you can't use option files in ps4 (they will bring that feature back on Pes 2017).

In ps4 you just can add the kits one by one...

Do people really buy products with Bale's monkey face spalshed across the front of them?
Rooney was on Fifa's covers for an age so be thankful that era is over.

FIFA as in the vehicle of Satan?

In case it's escaped your attention I am rather overtly AMF so I reserve the right to hate absolutely everything about the 'beautiful game' post Italia 90.

Rooney is a bigger melt and far more ugly with his halfwit boat than even monkey face Bale so I'm not sure where you're going with that. Both products of what football has become over the last quarter of a century.

I'm awfully sorry I resent the gangsters at FIFA, it destroys me that I consider EA very much part of the dark empire by paying them millions for the branding name on their football game franchise,

Of course I'm traumatised for not subscribing to Konami also going down that route of celebrity endorsement having monkey boy's boat on the box and lining the pockets of filthy UEFA.

http://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z450/Chasloyal/UEFA%206614883_d3d52d9d_zpsefgvoxxm.jpg

Bad me, bad every one of the hundreds of thousands of fans across Europe who like me are also proudly against modern football

He seems like a decent bloke, maybe you should spend less time or even no time criticising people's looks and doing something pro active with your life, that's the job of the DailyMail to criticise people inanely.

Where did the Daily Mail come from hmmmm are we wandering down Trotsky Street now, does the Daily Mirror not criticise people inanely then?

Oh....wales have taken the lead against belgium 2-1...as it stands havent lost to belgium in 3 straight games...
So you really think Wales are anywhere near as good as Germany, Italy and Spain as suggested?
If they win this it will be their first decent win and they are in a semi? i suppose Portugal are outstanding too?
No not saying they are as good as those at all. But look at the difference in player status....bale is the only good player and they are nearly in the semi finals. I think if they can beat Belgium they can beat anyone personally if they turn up on the day.
One thing is for sure though...Wales are a far better team than England.
Well.......England just beat Wales even with Joe Hart flapping at the ball as the slovakia keeper did.
I just don't believe the hype of being the best team in the tournament apart from Italy so far

Your not thinking logically though. Pound for Pound (or euro;s) Wales are the team of the comp. No one expected them to get this far. Italy, Spain, germany france (and england for some reason) etc are always expected to succseed.

So because england beat wales does that make them better?. Are iceland a better team than england?

It was one match they prevailed (Just in the 92nd min) and **** up every other match.

For anyone considering ShopTo I got the deal mentioned above. Collected from Argos today and the brown transport box is damaged, peering through the whole the PS4 box also has some damage. I've mailed SHopTo via ebay asking for an exchange. I'm a bit miffed as I bought it as a birthday present for my son. I'll post back how I get on.

Update: After a phone call ShopTo apologised and agreed the damage was unacceptable (They were very polite and professional). The replacement has arrived without damage. Will use them again.

Yes Spain are out! No more boring tacky ticky rubbish.

I think it's the other way around :)

I had this upon release but within a month or so I guarantee that you will see the flaws...terrible goalkeepers, unrealistic high scoring games, zero fouls/bookings etc. I still follow PES and would more than likely prefer a solid PES game to a solid Fifa game but too many issues with the 2016 version.

price shows no longer £279.99 new price £309
really tempted to get this bundle, got an xbox one and been looking to get ps4 for a while any recommendations?
Why do these prices fluctuate so much? Was 200 ish not long ago!
I've just ordered a 500gb ps4 with doom, uncharted 4 and ratchet and clank for 299 from shop to, been looking a while and seemed the best deal I could find. Not fussed about the Neo or the 1tb. Only thing was its back order, said they should have in stock early next week so should have delivered by middle of week.

Very cr*p deals floating around for ps4's which is a shame considering the current Xbox deals and the fact that Sony have basically announced the neo unofficially. I'm looking to get a ps4 but am definitely holding fire in the meantime. Heat for the cheapest deal atm but it's just not worth it
I held off for about 2 months for a price drop and it hasn't come and doesn't seem to be coming in the immediate future. Even if there had been something £50 cheaper, that's still 2 months I've missed out on playing with a PS4 so it's all perspective. PS4's have been a lot more successful than the Xbox One's - hence their cheaper price tag. Even if the NEO is released in a couple of months, I don't think it's going to crash the prices of PS4's dramatically as it's going to be a more powerful & expensive upgrade, I think there will be room for both consoles on the market and I think that's Sony's aim.
Quote from Sony Interactive president: "It is intended to sit alongside and compliment the standard PS4...we will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle."
i'm not necessarily looking for a price drop. Just a decent bundle, similar to the ones Tesco had about a month ago
Yeah that was soon removed - I think that was a pricing error.

I've been playing pes myclub the free version and it isn't half bad. not sure I can transfer my team over though.
Good price, but just a warning to anyone thinking of purchasing. The PC port is a port of the 360 version, not the Xbox One or PS4 version.
Good price heat added :)

I've just bought this for a quid after the clubcard exchange vouchers. Please tell me theres some kind of option file to download somewhere?!!!! I've googled every possible assortment of words and all I'm getting is ps4 and pc patches. Its impossible to narrow down the search. There must be an option file surely? I'm not bothered about emblems and sponsors, just want the kit colours and team names correct.

if theres no option file then this isnt even worth a quid. Its a shambles.
not sure tbh buddy I just expected Pes to be on there aswell

the Argos deal is better £16.99 with new case and dlc on disc

Is that not ps4 only though ?
the Argos deal is better £16.99 with new case and dlc on disc
Buy it! Far better than FIFA 16 in my opinion.

I loved PES until around 07 when FIFA stepped up to another level. Since then, I've only bought FIFA but read some very good reviews about PES 2016.

Long story short- bought PES, thought I'd buy FIFA too. Sold FIFA 16 two days later.

Only main issue is licenses. As usual, edit files are available with all the authentic kits, but they have to be applied individually (can't simply copy this data on next-gen as it's linked to the individual's account). It is time consuming, and took me almost a full day to change team names, manager name, stadium name, emblem and kits.

Still, a great game.

£4 is fine. Even if your not into it. New spare case and if your savvy a new cart case. If you like to mod to the extreme that is.
I have a ps2 copy of fifa 06 if you're interested for a couple of quid? Has a pre pubescent Rooney on the front cover
I'm not a big fan of footy games so not bothered it's 2011.
Funny this...
being free would be a deal

come with the EURO 2016 add on???
I don't doubt it. I didn't mean to sound like it wasn't a good price.
New one will be out in early Autumn though. They're clearly just trying to get rid of stock before it becomes worthless when its sequel plops out.
Agreed, but at £13 it's easily the cheapest around if you wanted it now.

Lord vader
Had this for a couple of weeks. Only team in the premiership with correct team name, kit and sponsors is Man Utd.

Graphics in gameplay are worse than Fifa but it plays better than Fifa , much more fun , not such a slog. I just can't get past the dodgy team names and kits- it makes a difference. Also the chants of the fans are non existant.

If PES got the licences it would be far superior to FIFA.

Cheap at this price if you want it.

Download the kits and emblems etc at PES World and all the unlicensed teams will become licensed. It's miles better than FIFA...
An extra pound in Argos if you don't want to wait for delivery.

Hasn't this one got mainly fake names?
No, all real player names. Managers, team names and strips can get easily be edited too.

Ye Ps3 data packs were always free as their network was free. But xbox 360 definitely locked it in live gold.

Do I get any free live gold trials on xbox one?

I'm thinking of just buying the standard pes 2016 but does anybody know if I can download the euro dlc on pes 2016 xbox one on the free xbox live service?
I don't pay for live gold so want to know if the euro dlc and data packs are exclusive to xbox live gold (like they used to be on the xbox 360)
on the ps3 you just needed to go to the data pack update.

is this a reduced version of the game??
It's PES 2016 (full game) with the UEFA 2016 expansion.
"Expansion" - such a half hearted add-on. Wish fifa had the rights as they'd have at least included all the teams!
And released it as a full price game!
They didn't with the world cup add on?
I take that back in that case. They certainly did last gen, I bought them!

Yeah they did for 360/PS3 bur it was free for XB1/PS4

And plenty of stock - but is it any good compared to FIFA 16 ?

There is a free Myclub (PES version of ultimate team) on the PSN store for PS3 and PS4. Gameplay is almost perfect. But the net code is not very good. Single player is nice and fast and fluent online the players feel like robots.

Have a try of the Myclub version for free. If you like it then go for the full game. With the MyClub version you can play single player games but only against other Myclub created teams I believe.

£16.99 for the PS4 version too.

Cracking prices.
