Download the free PSVR demo "The Kitchen" if you enjoy that (it is insane) and want more then you won't be disappointed.https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/kitchen-demo/cid=EP0102-CUSA06799_00-BH70000KITCHEN01
Why not just download the Begining Hour demo?https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-gb/games/resident-evil-7-teaser-demo-beginning-hour/cid=EP0102-CUSA04767_00-BH70000000DEMO01

But that isn't VR. Kitchen is pretty much a tech demo for RE7's VR mode.

they updated the beginning hour so that its playable in vr a while back, they then updated it again to give alternative endings...the free demo actually offers more game time than some of the vr games you can play

Why does the 'cheap credit' link to an o2 sim
Read through my summary on page 1...
Basically, order a SIM (going through Qudco/TCB), top-up £11, send a text to get a bonus £10 on the SIM, transfer £20 to PSN and wait for the cashback.
£20 PSN credit for a potential net spend of £6 ;)

Down to £40 on PSN today, in case you have some cheap credit.
Nice price for physical but I'm holding out a while longer, considering the number of games I've bought this month oO
lol 'down' to £40
His point was that one man's £40 is another man's £22. Follow the crumbs.
And my point is that it's been £40 since release, just not on psn where everything is 20% up on rrp

I wasn't sure if your original comment was a dig at the Bubatron, but as a criticism of PSN in general: you're exactly right. Why does it cost more to sell digitally when there aren't any overheads like printing, burning, packaging, shipping...?

great game, just last the second boss. it is very RE and very atmospheric. if you can play in vr definately do that, if it means waiting until oculus and vive get support then do that!

Is your Caps Lock button broke?

nope, i use the android app which doesn't capitalise. i have abbreviated resident evil (sorry) to RE before so my phone intervened and auto capped it. it doesn't bother me though, sorry you didn't like the game - it is clearly divisive but to me so much of it felt like resident evil of old but with new gameplay mixed in. it was better than Dead Aim at least, right?

Don't get the hype about this game. Basically it just rips off a mixture of horror movies and brings little new to the table. I mean it's hardly the worst game ever and the fact that it's so short meant that I could get through the game, but it barely felt like a Resident Evil game to me.

Best game I've played in ages and my favourite in the series, well worth a punt.
No your wrong. 4 is the best game in the series and 7 is a awful game that should have got cancelled PT style.
IN YOUR OPINION.
you need to play it in VR. That might change your mind.
So you need to buy an overpriced VR headset that is already being abandoned for this game to be enjoyable? nah thanks. Should have just called it "Resident Evil VR" then or better yet a completely different title as 7 is not a Resident Evil game.
It's great without VR, amazing with.

I watched a playthrough on Twitch and the first half was okay but the second half is just awful. You can tell they were running out of budget and were cutting costs with less cutscenes and same licker type enemy over and over. Also the ending was stupid and tacked on just to claim "its Resident Evil guys. Look we just tacked in this character at the very last second". Capcom should stop making RE games as they obviously don't know how to make them anymore.

I agree, if VR is still around in 2 years (I would say 1yr but the Scorpio will have VR support) I will invest but as it stands I don't see much demand for it right now.

Sony never support any of its gimmicks for long. Just look at 3D, ps move, ps eye, psp, vita, etc.

Typical I bought this a few hours ago for £27.99 minus 5%...
It's a PC game with a ~5 hour campaign. It'll be £15 in the summer sale and under £10 by Christmas.
Or, why not leave it for 3 years then it will be in a Steam sale for £3.74.
Win.
Or just torrent the crack
Yeah. Why not just hook your computer up to your neighbour's electricity supply as well. After all, stealing stuff from other people is just fine, right?

Was seriously skeptical of the new format/storyline, but me and a mate are playing it together and are about 4 hours into it. Glad to say I was proved totally wrong. It's like you're inside a really horrific film. Lovely stuff.
Unfortunately you've only got about 4 hours to go.

No worries, at least I can shift it quick before it's value plummets (ps4 vers) I'm not sure I could take much more tbh X)

I'm a bit more than half way through and so far I have really enjoyed the game, but have to admit that pre ship wrecked was the most of the fun. I think because I am more scared of crazy people than monsters! :D
That didn't take long for the price to drop already!

Im so glad I own a PC! £36 and this is hot!

Except it's not THAT much cheaper on pc and provided you have psvr it's actually one of few titles to buy on ps4 as opposed to pc due to the not tacked on vr experience.

Borrowed of a friend.
great graphics, amazing sound effects.
Controls are hit and miss.
Story is weak
Enemies make this game feel more action than horror
Scares are predictable, but the mood is strongly set throughout the first half of the game (pre ship wrecked).
It's an over hyped title, and if you aren't a dedicated Resident Evil fan, you may find it a disappointing game that over stayed it's short welcome of 7-8 hours.
I preferred the days when the zombie out break was caused by the T Virus being leaked in the city and it was more survival of the fittest. Now it's silly chemical warfare (seems to be the main focus of re games since re4).
I wished this was a new IP made by Crapcom, and they tried to steer clear of anything related to Resident Evil in terms of the storyline. Stuck with a more messed up horror tone, just like how the games graphics and first few hours feel.
But every so often you feel Crapcom leak their old classic nonsense into this title (the garage fight if ya don't get the car first. The mutations of the bosses etc, it screams dead rising at best).
It's a great attempt of something different, and only ruined by back tracking into what Crapcom previously knows.
6/10 title.

Although I agree that they could have done with rebooting the series storywise, you shouldn't act like you're in the majority when your views are clearly the minority.

I'm not acting like I'm a majority. I'm stating my views on the game.

Guess there's no chance of you warning us of any potential spoilers there mate - cheers for that :|

I should've added "may contains spoilers"
But re reading my post. I'm not seeing any spoilers that could ruin the game.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

pre ship wrecked is a chapter name. That may or may not be classed as a real spoiler.

Chemical warfare has been the driving point from re4, 5, revs 1 and 2. Was basically the same thing in resident evil 1, 2 and 3, but was more subtle. My issue was they could've gotten away from that in this reboot.

The only real spoiler I see is me mentioning about the garage fight. It slightly ruins what may happen. But that encounter has multiple ways to deal with it, that you may never encounter what happened to me, or you may get it first try.

I didn't believe I've ruined much else but I've added a spoiler warning.

£20 soon doesn't sound unlikely now! Just wondering does anyone know if you buy the season pass will you get that on xbox as well?

Wouldn't apply to the steam version. The game needs to be bought from the Windows store, so I would imagine that the season pass would need to be (and would most likely be play anywhere).

Good price, but it has been lower if you preordered before christmas at 22.99
It's not really the same deal though, is it?
You're paying less at the risk of the game being awful in one way or another. Pre-order prices have to be compared with other pre-order prices and prices after release have to be compared with other prices after release. You know exactly what you're buying when a game has been released and the performance data and reviews are available, that just isn't the case if you pre-order.

Fair enough, I have given heat for the deal.

Oh my lord, this "support the devs" malarky again. It doesn't mater where you purchase an item from or how much for. It still goes as a license "sold". Devs get payment upfront these days upon completion of a game with sometimes further recompense if the game does certain numbers so ALL sales help. Its videogames not fish that will net more the more they sell for.
You don't understand what you're talking about. Sites like cd-keys likely use a key-generator to create their keys. Thus when someone purchases a legit key and the key doesn't work - it's because someone has knowingly/unknowingly purchased a key online. Case in point: years ago I bought Battlefield 2142 on the PC. I couldn't wait to get home and rip it open. I put the online key in and guess what - it had been used. What?! A brand new, sealed game from the store. I went to EA Games and EA Games said there was a problem with keys being generated/sold in Russia. However, EA said they couldn't do anything for me and to get a refund from the store.
Ultimately, the game store refunded me, but the manager there explained the store loses out and EA will lose that sale. I was left with the main BF2142 game in my Origin library but no valid key to download/play it. I didn't chance buying another key so I just played it at a friends house.
TL;DR - "Support the devs" is a completely valid argument.
P.S Anyway - i'm not going to debate it. The fact Steam actually BANNED the term 'cd-keys' speaks volumes. They didn't censor GOG, Origin, Amazon etc

We're not debatin it, but a healthy discussion always helps. When publishers release keys to distribution platforms, they automatically generate the keys, which coincide with a database they pass on to the distributor. Unless russians have access to the publisher's database or a crystal ball, I'm not sure how they can generate anything.

Also my comment about how developers get paid is still valid.

RE7 is pretty short IMO it took us 11 hours and were far from expert gamers so I'd imagine average time to complete is 8 or so hours, that said it's a great game!
If you can sell the DS4 sealed for £35-£40 you're getting a pretty good deal there. You could actually sell RE7 sealed too for a good price and effectively get the PS4 Slim for £170-£180, then buy the game again when its about half the current price.

This game is so crap and worse than even Resident Evil 6. Avoid.
Absolute rubbish. The game is brilliant. Maybe because I did it through VR I found the atmosphere more tense. I don't know. It is a huge step up from the awful 6.
You have low standards then. Its funny how people hate on RE6 for not being a Resident Evil game yet thats more of a RE game than RE7. This game shouldn't be called Resident Evil as its got nothing in common with previous games. This game makes 6 look like a masterpiece.
How was it more of a Resident Evil game than this? Just because it had familiar characters in it?
I've been playing RE games since the start and number 6 was terrible. 1-3 are more like 7 but I agree that 7 is very different to 6(in fact 4-6) so maybe you only like the action/horror of 4-6 but I think 1-4 are the best, 5 was good, 6 was bad.
I have never complained that RE6 wasn't a real RE, I complained that it was a bad game and I stand by that.
Low standards of course that must be it because I think your attitude towards this game is wrong? It is obviously a problem with me and the millions of others who enjoyed this one, but disliked the travesty that is 6.
Maybe just get back on COD500 yeah?
RE6 had classic characters, mercenary modes, cheesy RE storyline and third person gameplay all of which 7 doesn't have. RE7 is just an Outlast clone and RE6 isn't even as bad as people say it is and sure its a dumb action game rather than survival horror but it has some of the best third person gameplay of any game.
I'll agree that at first I did think it had gone a bit 'outlast' but after that I think it very much has a feel of RE 1-3. Like I said to the other guy once the enemies start varying it feels a lot more like an old RE.

From what I remember RE1-3 weren't first person so not really.

Tempted to try this out for VR. Am I going to need to keep an eye on pampers deals?
You might want to hold off for a year if you want to play this on the rift or vive. Sony paid for the mode to be exclusive to PSVR for a year :(.

Oh balls, a whole year??
We're playing this on ps4 ATM, not played any since the 1st one and although I'm finding the items a little hard to find as you can easy walk by them and overall it's a little too dark to see at times it's no doubt a top game and really enjoying it.

It's made us jump loads and my other half has even let out a couple of screams lol :)

Reviews are mixed from what I've seen...
...so real players, what's it like? RE4 is still one of my favourite games of all time if that's any sort of yardstick :{
It's much more like the early RE games than RE4, especially RE1/the remake. You are mostly confined to one environment which you will explore and slowly gain access to new areas through solving puzzles, progressing the story, etc. RE4 had a more traditional level-based design where you progressed through multiple environments which you rarely returned to, whereas this is more about exploring one big environment and gradually unlocking it's interlinking paths as you work your way through the game.

The actual gameplay is also much more similar to the early titles as well, with low ammo supplies, a bigger focus on inventory management, and often the need to flee enemy encounters rather staying and fighting (although both styles are possible, often saving ammo is a better idea).

It's a nice blend of some of the more modern first-person horror games (Alien: Isolation, Amnesia, Outlast) while also being true to the RE roots and not just being a "hide in a closet" simulator like some of those titles. You can always fight back, but enemies are powerful and ammo is fairly scarce. The story is pretty interesting and draws a lot of inspiration from 70s/80s horror films like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Evil Dead. Most of all though, it's pretty refreshing for a RE storyline.

I haven't completed it yet so I wouldn't like to say exactly how much I like it just yet, but it's a fun game.

It feels more like the first game but in first person and with a more involved story. I am loving it and Resi 4 was one of my favourite games ever.

Well, this has turned into a bit of a disaster. The order of game plus beers arrived on Monday night, the beer had burst all over the boxes and I asked for them to be refunded. The driver asked that I open and check the game, I did, it seemed fine. I queried if the refund would be for the full value of the beers, he said yes. I've woken this morning to a £2 voucher to bring my order total to £44.99
Give them a ring. Tell them you want the full amount as otherwise there was no point in wasting your voucher.
I'm sure they'll sort you out, keep us updated
Hey! Called them and a manual refund of the total value of the beers will be applied, result :)! Hope this helps anyone in similar circumstances!

Voted hot as using this offer i took gears 4 and black ops 3 to trade which best price trade elsewhere would give about £22. Would advise asking how much they trade first as i ended up only paying £8.99 for resi trading gears and black ops in, btw awesome game so far
Terrible deal if I ignore the cheap titles so I can act all salty because my little heart leapt at "£9.99".
Shocking deal, some of them combined like battlefield 1 with overwatch could get you a £54 voucher at cex or even more selling privately.
axiomglitch
how is this ridiculous? some of these games are about 15 to 20 quid preowned and some people may have gears or forza from other recent offers. it not deal of the month but it's not a rip off

Black Ops 3 is the only one around that price (maybe WWE 2K17). You can easily get 25-30 quid each for some of them games and also you have to pay an extra tenner on top of that. The question is - How is that not ridiculous?

I have a feeling Resident Evil 7 will drop in price quickly. It's a single player game with minimal replay value so trade ins should be quite high. This will force retailers to drop the price.

Agreed, personally, I will hold out for a couple months for this reason.

£45 for any game is too much, especially with the history of games lately, wait 2 weeks after launch and you could probilaey get it for £25 lol
Yeah I think £40 should be the regular price for ALL games............Have you seen how much Nintendo want for thier games?? £60!!!! I wish they would just drop out of the console race and go 3rd party! Love to have a PS4 version on Zelda and Mario! Would look amazing, unlike how they look at the mo, totally unimpressed with the so called Switch!

"So called"? No. Switch. Nothing 'so called' about it. Besides, the 3DS's launch was relatively poor. Has since gone on to do incredibly well with a strong library of games.

You don't need VR or Move controllers. So going by your maths, that's £245 for a console and a game, a console which has an excellent established library of games.

you mean established lidrary of remasters ;)

I pre-ordered this ages ago and they still haven't bothered to send it. What's the point in offering pre-orders if you're not going to bother to even send them on time?
I pre-ordered on the 13th of December and they sent it out at 01:20 this morning (24th) they say it will be here today but I'm thinking it will be really late if it is. They did say it could be up to 9pm for delivery so pretty annoyed that I miss out on an entire day of play because I didn't buy it from cdkeys.
I am off work all this week so it's not the end of the world for me but still not very good service.

Their overall level of service has gone massively downhill over the course of the last 12 months IMHO.

Smyths are **** and wont preorder from them again. I preordered for colelction instore as their website said, pay when you collect in store. I chose that option as i dont get paid till tomorrow. I then get an email yesterday saying my card had failed, well duh, theres no money in it. so what their website says is ****. They tried to take payment before i collected it.

I contacted customer service who fed me some **** that it wasnt to take payment it was a card capture? talking out his backside as the link wnats me to purchase or the preorder is cancelled. So they go back on what their website states, I now have to pay full price for it. Terrible customer service.

The wind up house is pretty nice but when you put it in context you might as well put the money towards upgrading your console or even your TV.
The UK version is bigger but doesn't light up or make any noise

Well that's a definite no then if they shafted us on the build too.

unboxing off it from back in December. The house is pretty small. Comparing it to the Recore statue.
If capcom have done like most other companies, they've made tons of these and I'll grab it during a price drop. If it runs out, won't be bothered either.

That's not the UK version - our version is bigger.

That For Honor will drop in price by a lot I reckon, people already saying it's a "Hack and Slash" type of game, I want it on PC but will wait. As for Halo Wars 2, that idoesn't awesome, beta was class. When digital comes below £35 I'll get it.

I don't know if this deal is still live but with the current on-going beta I can confirm that For Honor is absolutely incredible and will show 0 signs of reducing in price. It is the further thing from 'Hack and Slash'. It's the same as Mount and Blade - If you go in wildly swinging you'll be countered or parried and dumpstered by any half decent player.
Res evil ordered thanks
I might get for honor so i can feel like ragnar lothbrok.

'Biohazard' is the subtitle of RE7? That's odd because RE in Japan is called Biohazard.

If you think that's odd, imagine how they feel in Tokyo buying Biohazard 7: Biohazard
There was an article written here (old news i guess) - http://www.pcgamesn.com/resident-evil-pc

Your right, its not gonna be available on day 1 on PC, what a crock of ****. Not the end of the world...but still. Cancelled my pre-order for it. The hype will be loooooooong dead if I can't play it in VR till 2018 lol. Good job crapcom, good job !

Edited By: Cherried on Jan 10, 2017 19:37
Just bought,hope it's good as a FPS.

Shocked to find out this is locked out of VR for a year on PC.
is it though? they scrapped that idea and VR will be available day 1 for PC

I was the same, grew up with Res 1,2,3..I think 4 was the last one played and didn't like it

Each to their own!

I feel that if Capcom did decide to keep going with the health plants, doors creaking, walking up stairs, etc I presume ratings would start flopping / reviews would cast the series in the same respect as the LEGO games, same old - same old!

I like the look of this one, support for HDR is a strong point as the graphics will look clean and crisp and I'm gonna give it another chance and purchase!

That's not to say of course that I'll be able to remove it from the case from shaking too much, buy hey!. at least I can look at the picture on to back of the case
for me the resident evil titles evolution has been enjoyable. I remember in 3 how you could dodge if you timed your gun raise press right. and you could push back enemies etc. it's something I felt was missing in earlier titles. as controllers have developed you have been able to strafe and move whilst aiming. these are sensible additions. with 6 they went all John Woo. I must admit 6 didn't keep me gripped like the others but I'd like to give it another go.

the next scare and it would lose its strength.
Re4 I don't remember any of the small details but I don't remember it being scary.
You're just going to have to accept that your views on something aren't always going to match everyone else's.
Well I never found RE1, RE2 or RE3 scary at all besides a few jump scares when a dog smashed through a window. Theres honestly more scary and unnerving moments in RE4 like the lab level. Also I find it funny how people say the old school RE games were scary when they had weapons such as rocket launchers and minguns.
Re 1 rocket launcher was the last weapon in the game. The weapon that was given to you during the final boss fight.
Having a special unlock able (the mini gun) removes the horror from the game... You have to complete re2 scenario B in 2 and a half hours to unlock. Completing both half's of the game to get this...
With your logic, re4 isn't scary because you beat the game once to unlock the infinite launcher... /facepalm
False. I think all you need to do is play on easy setting on RE2 and it gives you an unlimited mingun and rocket launcher straight away.
Oh god, you're right. I'm unsure what they mean later releases (n64, game cube?).
Always played games at normal - hard modes so this passed me by (did play it around release day for ps1, so may not of been on my copy).
But picking easy/rookie mode on any game usually ruins the skill level required for that title.
wiki
"In the later releases of Resident Evil 2, an infinite ammo version of the rocket launcher is automatically available and located in the item boxes along with the infinite gatling gun and infinite sub-machine gun if the player chooses to play Arrange Mode at Rookie difficulty. Using any of these will instantly lower the player's ranking to a B."

Yeah I found this out after buying RE2 on the ps store years ago on PS3.

It baffles me how many people go on about RE4 or even 2 being the best games out there in the series. Grew up with the entire series, enjoyed them all as games except 6 which was just plain awful even as a standalone game and to me Code Veronica will always be the perfect RE game

Because they are. Code Veronica is average at best.

The key part to my comment was 'to me Code Veronica will always be'

If anyone thinks the game will like the demo, they will be sadly mistaken.

It is much more linear, dont expect the multiple playthrough s that you got with the demo.

note that VR is exclusive to ps4 for a year I think. gutted as this would have been a day1 purchase for my vive. I will wait.
I have the rift and hoping Vorpx will enable it
Could you try it on the demo to see if that works?
No as the demo is VR playable anyway but looking at Vorpx resident evil 4, resident evil revelations 1 and 2 are already have Vorpx profiles for them so unless they lock VR out somehow i would think it should be worked out pretty fast and a profile uploaded to the Vorpx cloud
Hold on, that demo which is out on the PC has VR enabled already? I didn't know that!

I am on the market for a rift. Can you use the touch controllers in the demo?

First play an not knowing anything from PSX spoilers it could last a while but once you learn you can get the true ending and the dirty coin reward in about 6 to 7 minutes provided you don't need to watch the tape twice to get the basement doll giggle.
Hats off to them for releasing a demo, instead of the usual sham of 'limted time beta' 2 weeks before release. Not my kind of game, but great to see - BRING BACK DEMOS!
to be fair it can be "finished" in 5 mins but you get the bad ending the good ending takes a lot longer.
BurkusCat
Hot, this is a full "episode" really, not just a demo. This is a completely standalone 1-2hr game.

No its not, lasts about 25 mins, oO

Is this just a code in a box?
Knowing Capcom it will have at least 4 disks as I have the Resident evil origins collection and it's like 6 disks
Does the code in the box activate on steam?
Yes it requires Steam to be activated

The demo was brilliantly done, think this game is going to be more like outlast than any of the older resident evil games.

imagine outlast in VR!

Great demo look forward to it but will pay £30 for most games nowadays
Just played through the updated demo and got the dirty coin that unlocks a hidden item in the full game
