I would imagine so as it's a T-mobile phone but I couldn't be 100% positive.

One great thing you can get is a solar powered battery charger for it, see here at Play £22.99 - http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/13954732/LG-PCB-100-Solar-Cell-for-GD510/Product.html?_$ja=tsid:11518%7Ccc:%7Cprd:13954732%7Ccat:Mobile+

Can anybody who took out this offer PM me please

I'm curious why you'd want to renew this?
100 mins and 100 texts ain't that great for £7.50 a month.
It also included unlimited internet and you could swap a booster making it unlimited txts .Just now I've come to renew they are trying to say it was a Loyalty bonus deal
which it may have become when they found it was oversubscribed, but I was offered it as a two year contract which they are now trying to renege on just wondering about the experience of anyone else trying to renew

You can still get a better deal.

I get 600 mins, 500 texts, 1gb internet, and a booster for £8, but some people who have rang T Mobile got even better deals, some got more texts, more mins for £5 a month, i only been with them 1 year, so my deal is pretty good. You can get better mate, try and get them to give you another deal.

Anyone else get charged 69.99 for a 65.99 transaction?
The Sony Ericsson W595 is £56 after topup and cashback. It’s free to unlock using software you can freely download and I suggest is a very nice phone for the price; 3G, good Walkman phone. It’s in pink though.
Unlocking details are below and it really is easy:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/393877/free-unlock-and-debranding-of-se-a2
If you are using the data more than you are allowed T-Mobile write to you to ask you to reduce useage. They can then cap the speed you get. I am not aware of them actually changing the charging tariff. Worst would be that the £10 prepay top up gets used up so not that bad.

surahman;8653604
I think the worse they could do is charge you by the MB used! now that would be expensive!

I know what you mean, good for a quick sneaky use, but sods law..... they catch you out and they will make you pay! lol
Hey thanks for the info!

I have a 9700 with 3G and my sis has a 8900 both of us on o2's Blackberry service, there isn't much difference in browsing speeds while I'm on 3G and my sis on Edge. For normal internet browsing lack of 3G shouldn't be an issue on this phone. There will be a difference maybe in GPRS on other networks.
But no 3g on this phone. You can forget about mobile internet (I understand most of people will use mail only).
Online only - they've got 20% off all pay as you go phones today until 10pm tonight including Nokia 5230, Samsung Tocco Lite, Pulse Mini and Pulse :-D
Online only or available in store?

I'm on my 2nd mini as the bluetooth hardly ever worked on the original - apart from that i like the handset, although i find the audio quality through the headphone jack fairly sub standard, has anyone else found this?

What i was really wanting to know is has anyone used it for some time without a screen protector on it. Some phones have better resistant screens than others and wondering if this is one of em

For 79 quid its worth it but i wouldn't buy it now for 99.
If its wasnt for 6 mths data i wouldn't by it a payg.
I'm using the sim card in the IPhone and it seems T mobile have better 3G than O2 who seem to revert to edge for me in most areas.

The thing is t mobile are not like o2 who do not let u use the sim as wifi hotspot.
I use the sim to get wifi for my O2 IPhone when o2 loses 3G.

The apps are the best thing about this phone...its like having equivalent smartphone but 20% cost.
The screen is nowhere near the as responsive but u get used to it and it works fine.....
I;ve got a few scratches and it does scratch easily...or it might be me......my IPhone has mega scratches too...never bought a case for it....well i'm a phone abuser.......but it really needs a case for those of us who care about their phones....

I've just ordered the Nokia C3 so will see how that is......
The best thing about having a data plan is you only need one....then buy paygo phones with wifi and browse the internet with any using a mifi.
VDisillusioned;8804845
Well, T-Mobile issues aside, it ain't perfect by a long shot. But for the money it's doing the job fine enough that it was bought for - on the move on-line calendar, web browsing and maps, plus lots of fun entertainment and "toy" apps as well.

Plus points - cheap; small size; cheap; robust enough; cheap; seems to run apps fine; cheap; good wifi and 2G/3G reception (when T-Mobile are working); cheap

Bad points - small unresponsive screen, though you do get used to it and you can use alternative key boards; not very fast but OK; poor camera, though better than the Pulse IMO; Some apps not available in the Market, probably due to small screen; Poor battery life, you really need to plug it in whenever possible if you use data/wifi/GPS a lot; No pouch included.

Probably forgotten some points but that pretty much sums it up.

Sephiroth;8806346
Yeah my data started working again shortly after I posted.

My main complaints with the phone are the camera and the battery life. Never before have I had to charge a phone every day and have the phone go from 100% to dead before I even get home from a long day out. Internet and GPS drain it quickly, but I'm sure every phone has that issue. You'd think in 2010 they'd have invented better batteries by now.

Everything else seems great as the above poster said. Some apps being unavailable is indeed because of the smaller screen. Apparently you can install the apps if you bypass the market but you have to scroll to use them properly.

Thanks for the info, it's going to come in handy for the decision to buy or not.

Cold from me due to all the bugs that Samsung never bothered to address. This phone hasn't had a single (official) firmware update since launch.
An old phone but spec was good on release so has aged pretty well. Very good build quality as well being a metal chassis phone.

Had the same problem, Spent 2 hours on the phone with them. Phone finally died on me, speaker phone not working, so returning too.

I gave up on them yesterday after loads of hassle even getting to talk to someone, after about 8 phone calls the best they could come up with was a link where i could purchase the software for £26.99, thats when my patience ran out and i said i was cancelling my contract and after speaking to another 3 people and explaining the whole tale again they said they would send a pre paid envelope to return the phone.

Today a package arrived in the post with a new Sat Nav kit complete with a download link and a valid product key ! All is up and working now.:)

Incredibly T Mobile customer service is worse than THREE mobile.

I spoke to them yesterday and they said i needed to speak to Co-Pilot, so spoke to Co-pliot and they said no its T Mobiles fault for not including the Sat Nav software with the phone, so I again spoke to T Mobile tonight they said they would call be straight back on my landline but have not.

The phone is going back :x

The title is still wrong, you can not buy it for £19.99,it should state £29.99 with top up

unless you are a tmobile customer or intend unlocking you will need the top up,every mobile phone payg from allmost all retailers is the same

But not all so it’s best to include the actual full price of the deal.
I bought a Sony Ericsson W595 from Tesco Direct this week and it’s on Vodafone but doesn’t require a top-up.
After Topcashback and Clubcard points it works out at ~£64 which is pretty good for that phone and it’s fairly easy to unlock as well.

An update on mine, Very messed up the order and cancelled it without notifying me. Several emails back and forth over 24 hours they decided that the department I had to deal with didn't have email access (wtf?) and I had to ring them. I then got through to some horrific call centre that deals with a multitude of companies including Littlewoods and Very, until they decided that they'd cancelled the order but kept the funds on hold from my bank account because I hadn't lived at my current address long enough (Even though Im now 21 years old and have lived there my whole life.) and were waiting for me to ring them, even though they hadn't emailed or called to tell me my order was on hold.
Yeah so, avoid Very. It sucks.
ClownHat;8644033
Found this in their help section:
'How is my discount applied if I pay by credit or debit card?
If you use a cash discount promotion, such as £10 off, and you pay for your order with a credit or debit card, then we will process your payment in two stages. First we will charge your card with the full price of the order then we will refund your card with the value of the discount.'

Even if that is the case I'm not exactly happy about a company giving me one amount on the order confirmation screen, and then taking a higher amount from my bank account.

agreed but they did that (and applied the refund) for me so as long as you are eligible it should be ok...

So I ordered this, confirmed the total as £72.95 when I pressed place order, now they've charged me £102.95. Nice. Sent complaint and told it'll take 48 hours for them to reply.
Avoid.

Provided that you are eligible for the voucher, you will get charged the lower amount - the reason they authorise the 102 is so that they can take up to (but potentially less, i.e. the 72) that amount when your card is actually charged

I don't see this voucher thing...

Surely vouchers are account specific and you must have received it from paypal and ebay, and can be only used on that account.
Also, you can get 40% cashback of the amount ebay receive using topcashback.
I don't see this voucher thing...
Got my sister this for her b-day, I'm on an iPhone 3gs and the 8520 is the worst ever: having said that I paid £199 on amazon (unlocked) for it so this is a good deal, but trust me guys and gals this phone is an epic fail. If you want a good phone for £100-£200 I'd go for a nokia 5800 (don't know where to get one lol; but it's a solid phone) otherwise just wait for a cheap android phone. Heat and rep added anyways for the deal.

This isn't half bad to be honest.
is this deal not automatic cashback? if so does this mean they send you a cheque for the £120 in full and then you pay £35 per month?

Is this a good company?

thank you
sharron
Yes, that is exactly right! The best thing to do (my view) is once you get your paperwork with your new mobile,
and know the dates just mark the date in your calendar that you have to post your bill to them (mobiles.co.uk). They are quite reasonable with timing -you have at least 2-months time window to do it.
I like this kind of deals not because you need to do it (that is actually bad point) but because they offer much better value than gifts or auto-cashbacks.
I.E. here 15 month half price means you gonna get 450GBP while auto cash back is only 120 SONY DAB RADIO maybe about 50-70 not sure about Xbox but for suppose that for 450 you might be able to get two of them...!!
duhprest;8513913
It says: "Please note that any half-price line rental shown only applies if the '1/2 price' free gift is chosen (i.e. not with the free iPod or Xbox etc. unless otherwise stated) and is the equivalent of, after cashback redemption."

And the options it gives me are:
15 months 1/2 price
or £120 Auto Cashback
or Free Xbox 360 Arcade
or Free Sony DAB Radio

If I go for the £30 a month for 600 mins, etc how do I get the half price line rental for the first 15 months?? I'm not sure what it quite means.

I think the main thing I'm being confused about is 'by/after redemption'

You send in your bills at certain points, and Mobiles.co.uk send you the checks. These offers usually profit from the people that miss a send in point. You miss one, you miss all of them.
Get very bad press for this etc. If you are organised then by all means go for it, but if you aren't, just opt for the auto cashback or Xbox 360(The DAB radio isn't worth as much :))

Oh and I don't think you get less data from the 3rd party sites only if you take their internet booster which is 1gb but cause it messes things up cause the phones come with 3gb data included as they need an always on connection it kinda overwrites the free internet they come with. Thats what I read elsewhere someone was told from t-mobile that if you take another booster instead everything will go through fine with your internet and extra booster.
I've rang loads of times and they haven't offered me any line rental discounts what did you say to them? Better off with the G2 at £20 for 24 months with 600mins 500 texts if your gonna spend £20 me thinks. BTW my hubby has a galaxy and its a great phone. Your not alone cashback sites make me nervous too better off getting a good deal direct than risking them are my thoughts, they are temptingly cheap tho. If your gonna go through t-mobile I will reccommend you as a friend you can get £25 voucher and free t-mobile calls for 3months :)

Just a thought but this isn't one of the models that t-mobile are advertising the free 6 months web on,it says 'a range of selected payg phones'

on their website this isn't one of the 'selected'

I bought this phone for my sister for christmas and she really struggled to get on with it. I have to laugh her old phone broke so she used this one to ring up to confirm when her contract ended so she could get a new one instead of it and as there is no lock keys button while using the phone, her ear kept pressing the touchscreen and the guy on the other end went mental.

After she had finished with it I gave it to my girlfriend and she didn't get on with it either. The touch screen is too fiddly apparently and texting is a bit of an ordeal. For just using it as a phone it's kind of ok like i said there is apparently a tendency to press buttons whilst using it. The speaker on it however is really loud for music and it has an sdhc slot under the battery so possibly could be used as a cheap mp3 player or something and a phone as a bonus??

To sum up, ok ish phone, texting is difficult, music is good

Good price though, I paid £39.99 including a tenner top up.

I'm not on T-Mobile. Could a very super duper nice person give me a code?
very good deal, used it a few times with a free t-mobile sim i got.

More people should take it up, not many have at my local so the staff say.
Ive used this a few times

However the last time the text took over an hour to come and after wasteing 30 mins in the shop looking for something to rent we gave up waiting. And you might of guessed the text arrived when I was pulling up the drive :(

So it might be a good idea to send for the text on a monday if you know your going to use it for that week.
:)Just a quick note

If you want to take the 4 for £10 deal on films and keep them for 4 nights, you can use the code to still get the 3 free items of confectionary.

Hope this helps! :)
Thanks for the info. I had a text from T Mobile informing me to check their website for the Night In promotion but when I went on there I couldn't find any info.

Now I know what its all about. Going to cancel my Lovefilm subscription and go with this until it stops.

btw it says on the site

Quote code ZG127 at the checkout when you place your order.

so i guess that makes it £19 :)

You would think that wouldnt you? Actually this company will charge your card the full £29 and if they feel like honouring the £10 off code then they will credit your card/account within 14 days after purchase.

Be warned that this company has a very bad reputation when it comes to honouring these codes.

That page didn't bring any up with £190 auto cashback.

Vastly prefer auto/immediate cashback than having to claim for something, but it still means that you've got to pay £35 every month.

It''s worth adding the mobile network that the deal relates to, as some have preferences/hates etc.

I saw this for Tmobile -

'600 Mins Any
Network Anytime + 500 texts + BlackBerry Booster and
Unlimited Data £35.00 12 months FREE
or £180 Auto Cashback or Free Sony PSP Go or Free Nintendo Wii etc.'
what is the blackberry booster exactly?
If it was a decent phone it would be a worthwhile deal.

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2010/05/07/review_smartphone_t_mobile_pulse_mini/

This lot actually seem to have used the phone... not just regurgitated the specs !

The £30 off voucher works you add it at checkout thats all...

Voucher - ZG103

The total including delivery and the £30 off voucher is - £72.95

but did you notice the final total that they are trying to autorise from your card - its for the full (102.95) not the discounted price, therefore there is a good chance that you will pay full price since they have an authorisation to take that much from your card (also the T&C's allow them to claw back discounts of they deem they arent valid for the shopper)... all somewhat fraught i think knowing the Littlewoods track record on codes!
This one is funny... the pulse mini on "very" is currently minus 30(ish) and the one on "additions" is about plus 30 (ish).

I think that they are basically the same company ....:roll:
anyone got one who can comment on the screen (resistive to save money) and how responsive it is or whether it is really 'laggy' as noted by some reviewers?

cheers,
dan

I have the this phone on T-Mobile and I would seriously advise anyone thinking about this deal to read this first - http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/discussions/index?page=forums&topic=8010384abbabde01276d5f3caa005e2d
I've just called for a friend about this, and they offered £100 for the phone on the £10 a month contract (down from £149 on their website). Seeing as how I paid £86 a few months ago for mine, and the phone is now even more outdated by the Desire and Legends being released and the lack of a confirmed upgrade date, this seems pretty expensive..

Could someone help me out please..I have the money to buy the phone outright, but there are some cracking contract deals out there, what I don't get is why so many people suggest to buy it outright if you can, what are the benefits of doing so?
DESPERATELY in need of a new phone guys, and feel like I want to treat myself. So THIS or the desire is my second question. And I'm pretty much a basic user, just want a nice gadgetry phone really.

I don't think many would argue that the desire is a better phone.
For a simple user, who wants a nice phone with a bit of internet usage, this will do.
The desire will be more "future-proof".
In 6 months something else will be better.

Look at the price of the phone outright, then how long you wish to keep it.
If you buy the phone you can get a short term sim only deal for £10 or so, and sell the phone whenever you want and replace it when a better phone comes along.
You need to work out what you use a month, and how much that contract will cost in total to the price of the phone without a contract. No point getting a £30 a month deal if you send 3 text messages a year.

shame it's such a loooong contract, 2 years - no thanks, unless you can upgrade at 12 months etc

Some of us have no issues with 2 years. I personally don't change my phones that often, as I don't need to have the latest thing. I just wanted the internet on the move facility, and plan on keeping this for a few years. Too much premium just to change a phone 6 months sooner, IMHO.

besides, it has a 2 year warranty from T-mobile, so not an issue. after that I will see what I can screw them for a sim only deal.
Top deal, good spot and ordered.
Thanks
