Thats why xda-developers website is the best place to keep an eye out for an unofficial update to Windows 7 ;)
Anyway 6.5 is fine I bet.... Just like am on v1.5 of the Android OS on my current phone rather than the latest v2.1....

Doubt you'll see it - very much for the same reason its taken some a good year + to port Android to the fuze..

Windows 7 Mobile is a completely new OS from the ground up - going to be a long long process till you see any port on HD2 - even then.. It won't be fully functional.

No point owning the HD2 now in my mind - why i sold it.. It's a grand shame to, fantastic mobile killed by the fact that the OS will be completely dead in 6 months..
I had my HD2 for about a week. Terrible experiance. The phone just kept crashing. People couldnt get through to me, and everytime i accessed voice mail the screen just froze. Three people I know have had this problem. And before anyone asks, yes i did close all the applications in the task manager and did a soft reset to no avail. Luckily tmobile took it back as it was within 7 days. By the way, UNLIMITED is subject to 1800 minutes!
I agree that windows 6.5 on HD2 will work as normal. I use it and its brilliant.
The only prob i see is MS might have a better marketplace (for apps - MS app site) for win 7? Any thoughts?

No, I dropped it this time as I purchased it for my G1 and never used it.

It's probably with Fonesafe, check the paperwork they sent you or simply cancel the direct debit with the bank, that's what I did. Homecare Insurance is definitely Fonesafe afaik.

Thanks for the reply.I forgot about this,so thanks for the reminder, and thanks for the advice.il phone them up tomorrow to let them know, and if that doesn't work,il cancel the direct debit, thanks for the info.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did anyone have to take out insurance when they ordered this? the lady on the phone said i had to take it out for the first 10 days but then could cancel after that, but i cant find anywhere on my 'my t-mobile' area anything about this
it was only after i received a debit on my bank statement that i noticed some money went out to 'homecare insurance'.
anyone know how to cancel? thanks

think some people had charges, some people had delivery charges also..
i would chase it up still as majority of us got it for the correct price

So your payable first bill was for £139 (£129 for the phone [£164-£35] + £10 for the first month)?

Could anybody who got a bill for £139 post here so I can cite other people getting the correct price as leverage?
terminalterror;8383133
I'm quite unhappy with the T-Mobile telephone sales department.

I was quoted £129 for the phone (£164 - £35 discount to match topcashback) and £10 a month line rental.

Firstly the £35 discount wasn't applied to my first bill, but a quick phone call to a very helpful person explained that it probably happened because somebody other than the person who initially handled my order bumped me up for dispatch, but didn't put in the discount. A credit has now been added to my account. A small hiccup but not much of a problem.

What I object to is that the handset charge is EXCLUSIVE of VAT, and that was never mentioned to me. What makes it particularly ridiculous is that the line rental is inclusive of VAT (i.e. actually £8.51 on the bill + VAT = £10), so I had absolutely no reason whatsoever to check whether the price included VAT or not. Not that I would have anyway, as I genuinely can't remember the last time I came across a price that didn't include VAT.

On this matter the customer services were a lot less helpful, refusing to do anything but apologise.

The bargaintastic total price certainly softens the blow, but I'm not happy with being charged £22.57 more than I was quoted. However, I'm not unhappy enough to demand a total refund, and there aren't any alternatives remotely cheap enough to make it worthwhile.

Still, not a good start to my relationship with T-Mobile.

Last Tuesday..

If you ordered by phone check your bill

We ordered 2 separate phones, over the phone and got both the phone discounted.

Check your bill online now as the price of the phone they quoted is different to what we were charged They add VAT on top of phone charge and no mention of delivery charge!

The second phone they charge us totally wrong and wrong plan mins etc.

Phoned sales team and they said would have to send phone back! Then Phoned accounts department and we think / hop she has sorted it but could not put it in writing. Next months bill will be amended.
I placed my order for the 24 month £10 deal at 16.50 on Monday. It looks like I was in the nick of time,

It arrived yesterday.
it seems £151 is now their bottom price for £15/300m/300t

I've got it - love it because I can get my emails while I'm at work. It also has a QWERTY keyboard, so easy to type messages/texts. Good battery life and I like bedside mode, where by the touch of a button, it won't let texts or emails come through while I'm sleeping - my husband goes mad if the phone starts vibrating - says it wakes him up!!! Funny, after a few beers on a Saturday night it would take a rocket to wake him.....

Never had an Iphone though, so can't compare, sorry! And it doesn't come with a leather pouch like my Blackberry Curve did, and I had to buy one which cost about £20.
anyone got this fone?

just wondering if its any good and how it compares to say a G1 and iPhone?
Just bought this from www.very.co.uk

Was £169
Less 10% discount code - code XX182
Less 9% quidco (confirmed tracked at £14ish)

Got this about three weeks ago and am very happy with it: it's not the biggest / best phone in the world but for £15.00 per month on 24month contract - including internet access - it is very good.

I rang and blagged a free 8gb memory card as well as £25.00 in vouchers for a friend on the T mobile network and £25.00 in vouchers for me. (I just quoted her number and said she'd referred me.)

IIRC Quidco for on-line deals was £20.00, so am very happy with calling T mobile and getting more.

Any comments I have just ordered, if there are any better offers you now i understand you have 14day return as longer as you do not open the box.
OK Received Desire yesterday, fantastic phone.

Regarding the Internet allowance, as mine was from mobiles.co.uk i thought i better ring and check with Tmobile that i was given 3gb month allowance.
I was told i was only on the 1gb month by Tmobile and they were quite adamant it was carphone warehouse fault and to take it up with them or pay an extra £5 a month for the 3gb booster.
I argued quite strongly that my contract was with them on an Android phone and should be on 3gb month.
Still no joy.
Asked to speak to manager and they said i would get a call back later today but that even the manager would say exactly the same.
Hey presto within 1 minute i got a call back sayiny they are extremely sorry and they would put me on the 3 gb month plan at no extra charge.
I took the 600 mins /500 text with u/ltd web from mobiles.co uk and she said because the web was included with this i was entitled to another free booster, so i added u/ltd calls to landlines.

I think it is important for everybody to check what web you are given for reading other forums all 3rd party outlets are only giving 1gb per month, but remember that on the 1gb month web the download speed is throttled.

But be aware that you will have to argue and persist with them to get 3gb.
I must be missing something but T-moble do 300 mins, 300 text + Unlimited Web (plus free booster so unlimited landline calls or texts) for £20 a month for 18 months. The phone is £129.

18 * 20 = 360 + 129 = £489 (- topcashback, so poss £449 as the cashback is tracking at £40 at the mo)

Lets play faulty pearl to trumps - I've ha6 5 units in about 8 months.

Not too bothered as its a work phone and gets swapped out next day but I would be might peeved if it was my personal phone and was being sent away all the time. Problesm included faulty scroll wheels, dropped calls, indiscriminate hangs (phone would hang when you were not using it and you wouldnt notice it until people said "why have you had your phone off all day" !)

Not dissing the deal OP, just the handset itself.

LOL WTF, I've had an 8120 for about a year now, with no problems.
The only problem I've had is Orange charging me for Blackberry Internet service, which includes data allowance. Yet they charge me for any data that the blackberry used. I've tried to sort it out, yet they never did for me, so I got so ****** off and just cancelled the Internet service.

Orange customer service is terrible, I phone up told them about this problem. First they said I was getting charged for using data. They tried to fob me off, saying that I was going over the data allowance, hence I was getting charged. I then said there was no way, because I was only using it for email. Then they hanged up. Phone up about 4 times again, saying basically saying I had a problem, they hanged up straight away.
5th time, I asked him, if there was a problem with their phones. He said no, so I said good, so you’re not going to hang up on me. He saw on the computer that I had a problem, because of the record of the previous call. He then said he would contact the Blackberry section of Orange he put me on hold for about 20 mins. They then fob me off more, with their pathetic excuses. So now I have no Internet Service on my blackberry because they didn't sort it out for me.

Orange is the worst company I've ever dealt with.

I have an X6 and the Satio has the same size screen and is not a good phone IMO
The N900 has a slightly bigger screen, but works on a completely different OS in it's first outing, so very prone to bugs at this stage.

I have just joined t-mobile from o2 as their upgrades were rubbish and they couldnt be bothered to help me, i am in London and no problems with reception. I was going to go for this phone, but opted for the N900, which i have now had for 4 days. Glad i made the choice, the N900 is a much better phone, really love it. Go to Nokiaretail.co.uk and look at the t-mobile tariffs on there, much better deals, i got the N900 for £28.99 on a 18 month contract with 300 mins 300 txt and unlimited web. I printed this off and took it to the Carphone Warehouse and they cant match this deal. Not a bad price considering the phone is nearly £500 to buy.

Its not a good deal the HTC HD2 can be had from virgin for £30 a month on a 24month contract and is a way better phone the milestone took a beating by the HTC on the gadget show 2 weeks ago.

Did you pay attention to the review?

He had only 2 points against the phone...

1: Its ugly.

Its going to live in my pocket so that is irrelevent.

2: They keypad is too fiddly.

Ive got the phone and I dont really agree, its much easier to use than say the touch keypad on the iphone...he completely ignored the fact it has the same touchscreen keypad as the nexus one they were testing too.

Milestone is fantastic, HD2 looks good but its windows 6.5 and lacks all of the massive ammount of advantages the android phones have.

Chalk and Cheese polly. The Milestone has a full qwerty keyboard and runs Android 2. The HTC is touchscreen only,MUCH bigger and runs Windows 6.5. Not really a comparison.
Very tempted by this phone.

Wouldnt touch the HTC HD2 with a bargepole now that Windows 7 Mobile is released.

Windows Mobile ala 6.5 and previous are now essentially obsolete as Windows 7 Mobile is a completely new codebase and totally incompatible with previous versions of Windows Mobile.

Windows 6.5 Mobile will still be sold on phones as Windows Mobile Starter I beleive, but essentially its a dead duck.

The gadget show?! Where they racing round (badly) on roller skates and/or skateboards while conducting the tests by any chance? What should be a decent show is ruined by squirmingly embarrassing presenters targeting the show at 10 year olds.

And HD2 is windows mobile 6.5. Personally I'd wait for the HTC desire but the milestone is a decent phone.

I have the milestone because I needed a full qwerty android phone, there was no competition really. I thought the HD2 was a windows phone?

I waited to vote, and I'm glad, because this is clearly a COLD deal.

OP should have said what their source of info was as it comes across as being an employee wanting to drum up interest!

As I said before, its from the buy.at affiliate network newsletter. Thousands of people got this newsletter.

It's a known issue on the Pulse

It's discussed at great lengths here:

Was gonna post what I just bought, but looks like its here already.

T-Mobile Pulse + £10 topup + 1 month unlimited texts + 6 months internet booster (1GB FUP)

£139.99

Also £5 cashback via TCB. The 6 months internet booster is worth £20 if you were to purchase it separately.

I've spent a while trying to get the phone as a present on ebay for around £120 + delivery which is just below the going rate for the pulse in brand new condition. So this was ideal.

i know he is a MOD and clearly self promoting isnt allowed, but still this is a cold deal really, in fact it stinks

only phone there worth buying is the Pulse

Just to clarify to OP, I'm not accusing them, just saying it comes across like that! The OP posts lots of very good deals on here.

Just got mine £20 300/300 unlimited landline calls and unlimited internet (which is 3Gb fair use and no changes if exceeded on the odd occasion meaning up to 3 times within contract). This is far more internet fair use than anyone else (Virgin cap at 1Gb adn change per Mb after that!). Paid £17 for handset and got 8Gb micro SD card.
Bloomin brilliant handset and very stable responsive OS (so much smoother than a mates LG on??? symbian?)
archermav;8005100
Appreciate that, thanks.

Seems a Hero is the phone for me.

EDIT: Just rang T mobile about this deal. Very nice chap, deal is as described other than they will not budge on the £17 up front for the phone. He would give nothing away about the Desire.

Anyone know if the camera on a Hero is any good? It put me off as there is no flash (should have looked into this before ringing)

Watch out if you rely on a good camera - this is the weak point on the Hero. Poor in low light and very slow shutter speed meaning blurry pics are c ommon. There are some apps which improve it but many are hoping that 2.1 (in April for T-Mobile customers) will include an update for the camera.
If the new HTCs are still using Android and still have the Sense UI, which the Hero has, and (I'm not sure about this) the same processor too, surely it's not worth paying more for what will be a cosmetic difference?
targaid;8011773
No, it's the other way around. At present T-mobile don't even have their own masts & piggy-back their signal on Orange's anyway. (3 & O2 have the same relationship) That's why T-mobile & 3 get poorer reception & more dropped calls. When it gets busy they get less bandwidth for their customers. I guess that won't be the same for T-Mobile once tehy're bought over.

i think i know what this means so what network do you recomend? i live in a place that all the networks cove and all say that i get realy good reception my mother is on orange and has to walk to the end of the drive for a signal i have tesco and have to stand in the kitchen, my sister is on T mobile and she can get a signal sometimes
Autokarma;7997259
Aren't orange being purchased by T-Mobile? read that the EC had agreed for them to be bought out.

Johnboy_1975;7974083
Was that a straight £10 a month contract over 2 years as someone implied?

Yes!
Have to agree with whoever mentioned T-mobile charge for voice mail, as it is dam annoying. Signed up a month ago to an 18 month cashback deal. These calls are not included in your minutes, they cost 12p per min or call if you call is less than a minute and add about £6 per month to my bills! Had I known this fact before switching I never would have bought a T-mobile. Hoping the merger with Orange will sort it out but prob not for another 17 months for me!!!
Deal ends today so I've killed it.
I phoned them and was told that the deal was normally only for existing customers but she checked and could offer it to me.
I was after the Pulse Android phone but she couldn’t do that on this tariff; that was only available on £10 for the whole 24 months plus £70 for the phone. i.e an extra £130.
I’m considering taking the deal with the Tocco Lite and selling that on eBay and buying an Android phone.

I thought the Android deal seemed to good to be true.

I take what the OP wrote about this being useful for "people who don't use their phones enough to go onto contract", but T-Mobile's contracts are very good.

Assuming you're topping up by at least £10 per month to get the "Free Internet" (and with an Android phone, that's a wise move, otherwise there isn't much point in having one above a regular "dumbphone"), then this deal will cost at least (24*£10)+£159.99=£399.99 over 24 months. For £126 down and £10 per month, you can get a G2 on contract with 3GB data, 100 minutes and unlimited texts over the same 24 months and save £33.

Agreed and I too wouldn't touch a 24 month contract. I'm only just just considering an 18 month so there's no way I'd have a 24.

I've currently got a HTC Magic (had it 8 months) and already think it's out of date - couldn't imagine the same handset for 2 years!
humadoon;7898876
Good deal and the fact that u can upgrade in 16 months time for a new phone...i think people should encourage 12 and 18 months contracts and totally ban the 24 months contract ..

I wish.. unfortunately too many people get 24 months so they'll keep coming.

This phone should be great, will almost certainly get it!
Good deal and the fact that u can upgrade in 16 months time for a new phone...i think people should encourage 12 and 18 months contracts and totally ban the 24 months contract ..
Do you really want a 2 year mobile contract - whether or not there's 6 months free usage? If you're looking at this handset, you like tech and fairly cutting edge at that - 2 years later, this is going to be very old! You'll hate yourself for that....
Correction: Actually at MPD it's even worse than that! T-mobile direct offer free Internet AND one free booster compared to them.

Thus, for example:
100 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited Internet; 24 months = £10 at T-mobile, £20 at MPD!
300 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited Internet; 24 months = £15 at T-mobile, £25 at MPD!

Sure, we don't know the handset costs yet for T-mobile direct; but given the much higher plan costs at MPD I think it wise to wait it out!

I don't see how this is a better deal than the Virgin Mobile one? I went to their store on Oxford Street and I got the HD2 for £80, £25/month for 18 months. Surely that works out cheaper overall?

Over the length of the contracts yes, but after the 18 months are up you will have paid £80 + £450 = £530, on this, the payment will have been £450, meaning effectively months 19, 20 and 21 are thrown in for free and then you have 3 more months to go.

Factor in the Cashback and month 22 is paid for as well - so you are nearly there.

I Like the phone but it has faults that could easily be fixed. Also divx support does not mean it plays divx files. Divx files will not play unless converted to divx mobile.

I hope lg release an update soon as it would be a great phone.

Review here:
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/lg-gw620-lg-etna-unboxing-video
Shame this isn't confirmed a 2.1 update.

I dont wether to go for this or the i5700 on the 24 month contract.
Just got one of these phones. It's an ok phone but has niggles.

My gripe after 48 hours of owning one is :
Can't add your own java games, there is a folder for java downloads but you can't upload to it on your pc.

Wi-fi works great but for some reason i got charged 3p each time i connected at home to the web even when the wi-fi was showing as connected (t-mobile)

No way to scroll without touch screen unless you slide out the keypad. Most phones allow you to use the +/- buttons on the side of the phone to scroll but the lg only adjusts the volume. Shame as it's difficult to scroll using touch without opening an app.

The home key is so touchy, you find apps just close midway because you passed near the home key.

Very few games available, other than the ones on android market which aren't very good.

No way to view images/pictures ???? has a gallery but this shows either just videos or ALL meaning you can't just view your pictures without videos being mixed in?

Very very slow camera. Almost unusable. However there is an app available called quick cam that improves this.

Good points:
Great 3g speed when out and about
Easy to use and connect to wi-fi
Lots of apps available (most not very good) Compass one is cool
Seems to run most htc/g1 games so if you can get them they should work on the lg.

Not bad for the price but not great either.

It is ridiculous to suggest this phone is in any way comparable with the iphone.
Low minutes & text allocation makes this contract a poor option.

300 texts
unlimited internet - £15 - 24 months - £40 auto cashback

I've read loads of reviews that have this phone ahead of the iPhone.

Gave up the possible 2 x £25 quidco and rang them to see if they had any Comes With Music editions in stock and got two for the same price. That's two years of unlimited downloads. I'm well chuffed.

The fair usage policy seems to be fair in any case for a mobile unless your downloading updates or using it professionaly for emails... dont see how u can go over it by the way the phone is 3g and wifi...
Terms and conditions for their cashback - not all of this is relevant, but gives you the idea. Remember itemised billing is an extra fee per month btw.

Shows as on Tmobile, as the network is very important for users - especially when it comes to 'unlimited' data packs.

It seems that tmobs offers the highest amount of data in their fair usage policy - check on this, I just recall this from other deal posts.

Shame it is for a 2 year contract, which is so long, during which networks come and go, improve/degrade etc. Plus chance of damaging phone becomes very high over a long period. Not voting, but first look seems nice.
Yes sry is 620 here is a review

It seems like a good alternative to this deal, if your looking for a less professional phone

Terrible, terrible phone, however this is still the cheapest it's available anywhere by far, thus voted hot.
their feedback is a good read, not sure I'd be willing to spend a penny with them

I've changed the merchant from 'Ebay' to ' eBay Deal Of The Day/Week (DOTD) ' as the DOTD merchant link will allow direct links to work for ebay DOTD items - I've also changed the Deal price from £18 to £14.99 as that is the price currently listed against this item with free p&p

HTC HD2 every tme. Bigger screen, Windows Mobile 6.5 ver. 6.1, 1Ghz ver. 533Mhz processor, double the RAM, expansion slot, 5Mb camera ver. 3.2Mb etc. It's an impressive bit of kit.
