Pricklerickle

maybe trick of light,I have to check, it's stuff usually gets from carboot so always earie

mutley1

as far as i understand, you will be able to tell when you taste it if it has gone off.

plymouthphil1961

It's a sweet desert wine and now probably past its best looking at the reviews it was not that great in the first place. It is also going to depend if it has been stored correctly if it has a cork and has been stored upright there is a far chance it will have turned.

PAISAL

What’s a vintage wine then? Do they not go off? Or are they stored in a certain way?

Maybe they get an extra big payment from this venue (lol)

DragKing

Yeh it's weird, the mods changed the title and moved my post. I didn't mention it being £6.95. Thought it was good considering a bottle of prosecco costs £20+ in most places.

Bargainhead

Sub standard food, I never eat chains but last summer myself and the wife went in one Saturday afternoon even after a few the food was still shocking... reminds why I don’t eat in these places pinged by robots..

LeighChester

Unless I’m going mad, certain brunch dishes cost £6.95 but the bottomless starts at £24.95. Perhaps the price and/or phrasing is a tad misleading? Good spot though (y)

Red Wine for Cooking
Hey, I am new in the UK (Scotland), and I am looking for a cheap red wine to use in cooking. I can't find any red wine cheaper than 4 pounds, which is very expensive to be used in … Read more

Your sister sounds like a wise lady XD

louiselouise

I was about to say the same. I can't cook to save my life, but my sister always says that.

Xippi

Ah....I wasn't clear there sorry. I often don't need the contents of a whole bottle which will start to go off once opened- turns to vinegar. ( vin aigre - old French for 'bad wine'), so I'll freeze whatever's left to use another time. Unopened bottles are fine esp screw top that won't dry out and let the air in.

Danze1984

Any reason for this? I use red for cooking but can't stand it on it's own. Often leave bottles in the cupboard for over 12 months. Obviously screw tops only.

Xippi

Whatever's on offer at the time. Freeze what you don't use for next time
