If you intend to buy more than 1 kit, here's something worth considering...

    This kit has 6 pieces of MDF 1.2 meters x 100mm. It's 9mm thick.

A sheet of 9mm MDF would cost £27 from B&Q, possibly cheaper from a local merchant. A sheet is 2.4x1.2 metres. B&Q offer a cutting service usually with the first 5 cuts free and 50p per cut afterwards.

You could buy a sheet from B&Q and have them cut it down to strips. Out of a single sheet you could get 24 pieces. You might have to pay for the extra cuts, at 50p per cut, that's £9.50 for 19 additional cuts + £27 for the sheet = £36.50 for 24 pieces. To get 24 pieces from these kits would set you back £64, almost double.

Sometimes, depending on the person at the machine, B&Q may make all the cuts for free.

Edit: I miscalculated cost of 19 cuts, it's £9.50 not £7. Still cheaper! (edited)

I've very little DIY experience and basically did this myself except I took a screen shot of an Edwardian stately home from Homes and Gardens website that had a more interesting panelling pattern and replicated it on graph paper first then done it down our entrance hall.

Also found a local builders supplier who sold the MDF and cut to size cheaper than B&Q. Only real additional outlay was a nail gun and just bought the cheapest thing off Screwfix as nails need only be pin sized. You'd also need a saw to cut the thin strips to size and decorators table helpful to lay them on for cutting.

    Final result. 50117427-48bxI.jpg

I ordered a wheelbarrow and got the extra 10% off on top of the 20% off, didn't know where it came from. Thanks for that.

Installing this right now weirdly! Decent enough and hopefully changes the feel of a bare space.

Includes Easipanel. Not quite as good as the frequent buy one get one half price deal (25% off) but still a good deal.
