What has society come to where retailers are charging you to leave your home and pick something up from one of their stores?

I should be illegal to charge someone to pick an item up they have already paid for.

Removing the charge to pick something up from their stores! How generous of them.

Our challenge whenever we go in is to find the weirdest thing in the home section. I still regret not buying an awesome lamp ages ago. The base was a frog lying on a bed and the shade was an umbrella it was holding. Sigh

Those clothes don't go with the orange plastic seats.

I ordered a watch and paid the C&C charge. When I got to the store, I discovered that they had sent the wrong item.

Of course, I didn't know it was the wrong one because they won't let you open the plastic shipping bag until you have confirmed acceptance of the parcel, therefore you have to go through the whole refund process.

Which was pretty painless....until I asked them to also refund the C&C charge, because I wasn't go to pay for them to ship the wrong thing.

That took another 15mins and a manager to sort out because they don't have a process for that.
