So for this money to try a 90% Layton dupe , is it worth it ? Well, if you can try layton or this somewhere first to know if you'd like it would be ideal.
Everybody says it's blind worthy. But is it really ? This is no Missoni wave for example which is a much more likeable and undemanding scent.
Great almond and vanilla. Sweetness is a bit high.
For £80 it would be a no but at twice this current price it would be seriously worth considering.
A definite purchase and a very worthy blind buy at this price.
Smells considerably more expensive than a £20 fragrance
I'm new to the fragrance game so keep that in mind.
One thing I like to point out on the topic of clones is the recent Afnan 9pm. It is a good JPG Ultra Male Clone but a boring one. Yes it has a good performance but so does Ramz Silver by Lataffa which has a better scent profile and more of a proper flanker. Get that instead of 9pm.
Now let's get to Detour Noir. Opening is bad. It is alcoholic, synthetic and a mess compared to Layton. The difference is obvious. That CDNIM advice waiting 15 minutes before leaving the house applies here.
Dry down is where it gets interesting, the stillage is definitely Layton, I would find it hard to distinguish between the two of them. However when smell it close, Detour Noir is more synthetic that it kind of not resemble Layton. It is not a skin scent I would recommend. It's just to synthetic up close. Maybe it will improve after a week but I don't see it personally.
The bottle design though. It is just not for displaying. I just wish they could have put it in a more generic bottle. It looks cheap and the cap comes off easily. The atomiser is good though.
For under £25, this is a must buy. A amazing outdoor and daily wear but definitely not for date nights or clubbing.
Is it the best under £25? No. There is a YSL Tuxedo clone out there (and it is not that reformulated Moustache joke) that is the best. I don't see anyone talking about it when they should be because it is a performance beast and the scent quality is better than Tuxedo. Double up the spray and you'll get a scent that will overwhelm anything even CDNIM Parfum. It's under £17 at the moment and it's ridiculous. One of the few clones that enhances the more you spray.
