I thought at that price it would be thick merino wool... 100 percent recycled polyester. They look like they have alot of people fooled (edited)

If it were made of wool that would be an entirely different type of top. Patagonia fleeces are made sustainably from recycled polyester and are way better than the cheaper alternative out there. These are popular for a good reason and wouldn't expect them to have wool content.

Why is this so expensive? What am I missing here?

I have 4 of the full zip version, the wear well but do pill eventually. I just wish they used ykk zips as mine all burst open at the bottom. They are old so hopefully problem fixed by now. My favourite fleeces

Will this last longer than a regular fleece, from a brand like quiksilver or North Face?

Not necessarily. But you get lifetime warranty with them. Patagonia will repair and replace for free, forever.

The "feel good tax" (pun intended) is quite steep on this one.

49925062-K1jlP.jpgBtw, Some time ago, in one of London's charity shops, I came across such a combo. I bought it because a decent brand, a good network and an affordable price.

Combine this with a good Ralph Lauren 1/4 zip and some Vejas, and you have a decent Autumn/Winter finance bro fit.

I had the full zip one but didn’t like the fit & shape of it, especially compared to a north face fleece I’ve got.

    good price though (edited)

Agreed on the full zip, have a 1/4 zip too and find it's fit is way better for me

Have this and it’s great but I hardly ever wear it. In 95% of the cases, you’re better off wearing a short sleeve with a full zip fleece on top which is much more convenient and flexible. Of course the full zip layer should be Patagonia or Arcteryx.

This is at least better than paying over the odds for some fashion brands.

Just wondering how much profit they are making, especially at the full price?

Where is the ethics in that regard?

They can't support anything if they don't make a profit.

I have a few of these in full-zip. Think I paid £69 for one and £62 for another (tend to wait for the summer in the sale)

Yeah, I picked a full zip one up for about £70 last year. I've worn it about 100 times, in all weathers and still looks brand new.

These are great tops for warmth. Think this might be from last year’s line though as I can’t see this colour listed.

Remember Patagonia has free repairs too if you unfortunately rip it.
Personally love my better sweater. One of the best I own and invaluable for cold days in the mountains.
