Courtesy of ChatGPT here is a TL;DR version:

Here are some key takeaway points from "Overthinking: Learn How to Be Happy Again with Unwinding Techniques to Declutter Your Mind and Break free of Blockages" by Timothy Marsh:

Overthinking can lead to negative thoughts and emotions, including anxiety, stress, and depression.
It's important to identify the causes of overthinking in order to break the cycle. Common causes include fear, perfectionism, and past experiences.
Mindfulness and meditation are effective techniques for calming the mind and reducing overthinking. Regular practice can help to build mental resilience and promote overall well-being.
Developing healthy habits, such as exercise, good nutrition, and self-care, can also help to reduce overthinking and promote a positive mindset.
It's important to recognize and challenge negative self-talk, replacing it with more positive and constructive thoughts.
Setting realistic goals and taking small steps towards them can help to build confidence and reduce feelings of overwhelm.
Finally, it's important to seek support from others when necessary, whether through therapy, coaching, or simply talking to friends and family.
By applying these techniques, readers can learn to break free from overthinking and find greater happiness and fulfillment in their lives.

    Principles of happiness:
    1. Something to do
    2. Something to love
    3. Something to look forward to
    Jose Addison

You need all three, missing one you fail. Must be aligned to an overall purpose.

Don't confuse pleasure with happiness. The objective of life I'd argue isn't happiness, that's a by product of purpose.

Why are you here? If you don't buy your own reasons to this question then you will forever by discontent, unhappy and will have underlying depression. Don't lie to yourself. (edited)

Awesome. Well said. Happiness is definitely a by-product. Whenever I read biographies of the greats, such as Nelson Mandela etc., they were busy concentrating on points 1. and 2.

    3. automatically followed as a by-product.

this would only help a person who acknowledges and agree that they overthink and would want to help themselves overcome this problem.
how can you help a person who does not agree or acknowledge that they overthink, yet its quite visible to the onlooker
