I particularly like his 'gun safe' videos, they just fill me with terror. And poor Masterlock... how do they stay in business?!

Cheap sets are a false economy ... the picks are too thick and made of poor materials .
You'll probably end up filing them down anyway, so why not make you own... my faves are a couple I made from snapped hacksaw blades !
You can get easy (rubbish) locks from pound shops, or scrounge old ones from a locksmiths.

Or buy single picks from sparrows, southord, lawlocktools or peterson if making the isnt for you. But yeah, great advice. These will be crap picks and the acrylic locks are pretty useless after you know how they work and they'll break. (edited)

Ok… so the description reads like it’s been written by Borat’s criminal cousin…

“While improving your unlocking skills, you can also enjoy the fun of unlocking and relieve the work pressure. It's a fun and meaningful gift if you have friends around who love to pick locks, or kids who love to explore mysteries.“

I've got this set, and as mentioned, the picks are bob. Use it to understand how a lock works, but when you start using this on your own padlocks, it doesn't work

I gave this, not a bad set for starting out. It’s right that you soon find some padlocks are just naff!

I come out of watching Lock Picking Lawyer videos with the feeling that locks are a signalling mechanism - they are a way of saying how much you really want to retain something. Nothing will stop a determined attacker, all you can do is ask him to go elsewhere.

I successfully used one of these to open a really old metal box my parents had in the loft with some paperwork. The last time I had to do this, I actually had to cut the box with an angle grinder!

You will use like 2 picks from this, and then lose the box. I don't even know where mine is.

They are often called tubular locks, and the internet is littered with instructional videos. Because you can see all the pins, general opinion is these are rather easier to deal with than traditional locks.

Hmmm. Isn’t it a criminal offence to merely be “going equipped”?

And if police departments can setup fake honeypot websites to see who is interested, setting up an Amazon seller to build a database of customers seems like an easy move…
