Not as good as some of the prices from the past, but considering the current Makita redemption offer, where you can get another 2 free batteries, making the cost of the bare mower equivalent to around £100 (assuming batteries could be sold for £50 each and charger for £30) seems like a pretty good deal to me, for a 36v Makita mower.

They also have the next size up mower for £400.

This deal seemed to have changed as clicking on the Get Deal link shows a price of £349.94, unless I'm doing something wrong. The price is the same if you just go to the CPC website direct so there's no "deal" happening.

I'm very tempted by this, only 2 things that's putting me off. 1) I already have 8 batteries so don't really need another 4, I could sell but I know I wouldn't really want to and also the hassle of selling. The double charge would be nice though. 2) I don't have a garden.

So you don't need the mower because you don't have a garden. And you don't need the batteries because you already have too many.

I think you should definitely go for it. It's a killer deal. (edited)

£100 for the mower after jumping through hoops is a bit of a stretch, maybe £150. Is it worth the hassle? If you are new to makita 18v maybe. It's a deal.

The batteries will sell for £50 each, all day long. Others on here, in past deals, have sold the charger for £40, so I thought £100 was conservative. Of course, that's just my opinion, but most places are selling the bare mower for in excess of £200, so I felt that this might be useful to someone.

We got this one last summer, offer then was tools etc, but ended up claiming a Bluetooth radio.
Excellent quality mower, we have a large lawn and I get a full cut and still have plenty of charge left on the batteries after.

The link doesn’t work for some reason. I’d seen the redemption offer on makita’s site but it now looks like it’s been changed to one battery only. Do you have another link? Thanks

You follow the link, upload a photo of your receipt, the serial number from the mower and the label from the box. You get confirmation that you are eligible within a week then your choice of batteries/radio/inflator 35 days later (to allow for returns). Got my batteries last week by UPS courier. The mower is really good and far better at collecting the grass than my petrol one. I’d recommend it. (edited)

Too expensive for what it is and only reasonable to get if you have other tools using the same batteries and charger. (edited)

Einhell mower is £140 Inc. Battery and I can't really see any advantage of Makita products. Additional batteries are much cheaper too.

Putting aside the comparison of makita quality to einhell, which I'll leave others to make their minds up about.

The einhel, comes with a 4ah single battery and is 18V, this effectivley comes with 4x 5 ah batteries. Also this is a 36V mower, and uses 2 batteries at a time, this means that it has very good cutting power and should be able to easily cope with longer or wet grass (unlike most 18V mowers) or for shorter grass, it will last a lot longer between charging batteries.

The 36V einhell (with 2x4ah) is nearer £240.

I got rid of mine (43cm model). One side of the mower was lower than the other, so the cut was very uneven.

I'm normally a Makita fan, but was disappointed with the mower. I've gone back to petrol.

Voted hot for the deal - if it works for you, it's great. Nice and light so easy to handle. (edited)

Purchased recently as needed a battery refresh after a few years of abuse and needed(wanted) a new mower, so was good timing.

Mower works great even in wet grass, and also mowing more often as it’s so quick to get out and get done

Is it clear this vendor is participating in the makita spring redemption? Don’t see anything on CPC Farnell website

Looking at Makita conditions, there don't seem to be any requirements for retailers to be participating. I think that's just for extended warranties. Regardless, CPC farnel are such a big organisation and carry a stock list that would put China to shame, I very much doubt that they would keep the site updated with redemption deals.

fwiw I've had my redemption application for two batteries approved. I sold the two batteries that came with the mower for £50 each within an hour of putting on FB marketplace.

This or the size up (DLM432CT2 ) deal for £10 more?

Depends on how big your lawn is. The bigger one will cut your lawn quicker, but it's slightly heavier and slightly less manoeuvrable, but I'm not sure if you would really notice. However, I've read of the larger one stalling in long wet grass, possibly because of the slightly longer blade reporting more power from the same motor. I went for this, but my lawn is only 25m X 6m

Can anyone who owns this, upload a picture of the bottom? I want to see how much space there is around the blade, and if any channels in the molding where the grass get stuck and clogs up.
