It's magnetic resistance so not the best, for a little over £330 using a sign-up code with Sweatband I'd suggest the Xterra Fitness ERG550W water rower is a better buy. Currently on offer and reduced from a not realistic £799

Thanks for this, I went with the ERG600 for a bit more, sign up code knocked it down to £380. Hopefully the 1.5% quidco tracks for a few pennies back too lol

My thoughts, entirely. How would you describe it, then? "User-powered"? Or, in my case, "Unpowered".. Wouldn't this be far more effective with a screen beside you, showing other boats being rowed? Making a contest out of it? There could even be a league table of rowers, to gradually climb up as you improve. VR headset time?

Horses for courses, some people want a quiet rower that's low maintenence. Water and air rowers are more expensive and larger etc
