Retro styled watches like this don't work on a case this size IMO.

It's obviously trying to capture the style of the 1930s but back then men's watches were far smaller, usually closer to 30mm. 40mm+ cases on anything other than a tool watch only really became a thing in the 1990s.

You might get away with it on a 38mm case but 42mm is just to big for the style.

Voted hot anyway though, it's a good deal if you like it. (edited)

Well, I would have agreed a few years ago…my eyesight is just getting worse and this seems to be just right for me! I have a Hamilton Pan Europa, and it’s a teeny bit too small.
I’ll see if there is one in stock near me.
    Thanks!

Genuine question, why do watch manufacturers like Longines and Hamilton make a vintage reissue then make it 42mm or greater? Stupid decision making.

Stupid indeed. They were doing it so they can keep up with the oversize watch trend promoted by Panerai, TW Steel, Invicta and other hideous monstrosities.

Is this for those looking to learn how to tell the time?

You'd probably be better off practising with a big clock first, when you're confident, then maybe progress to a watch
