This is usually £929 on the Samsung website but today they lopped £150 off the price.

You can get the full trade in value quite easily with an old washer. Other appliances can also be used but I don't know if they qualify for the full £125 extra discount.

The Trade Up discount can't be used with any other code/voucher.

This machine is a Which? Best Buy and Eco Buy with an overall rating of 79%.

TCB is 8% today but it's usually around the 4% mark.

Delivery is free or you can pay more for installation.

Blurb from Currys:

Bubbles and steam make for relaxing baths. The ecobubble and steam technology in this Samsung washing machine give your clothes the VIP treatment too. The ecobubble tech mixes air, water, and detergent to create cleansing bubbles that lift dirt, even at lower temperatures. Breeze through laundry day with the SuperSpeed cycle – it gets through a 5 kg wash in just 39 minutes. And the Auto Optimal Wash+ uses a fabric sensor to adjust the load to get the best results, without any guesswork.

Good to know

- Hygiene Steam helps to get rid of those annoying allergens that can be so irritating
- Space Max design allows for a bigger drum size without increasing the size of the washing machine
- Your machine can remember your laundry habits and puts your favourite cycles first thanks to SmartControl+
- Select the AI Energy Mode and reduce the energy use – it opts for cool water and a less intense cycle
- The Digital Inverter Motor delivers fantastic performance while cutting down noise and energy use – and the motor's backed by a 20 year warranty

How is Samsung compared to LG or Bosh?

Is Miele still at the top of reliability or above are close?

Can I ask anyone who has this whether the control panel at the top is blue or silver? Thanks

I ended up getting the silver Dryer and Washer instead. Worked out at £1280.60 when using a Blue light discount.

I bought a series 8 model several months ago and wouldn't recommend it. I think the device is capable but Samsung has restricted the configurations. Even on the settings that you can change, the wheel makes it quite fiddly as you need to scroll through all the settings to make adjustments each time.

The auto dose feature should make it easier to set the device but any adjustments you make to the settings affects all washes that dispense and not that particular wash or the type of wash you have selected. This means that you need to adjust the settings again for the next wash and that takes between 5-12 clicks to do – every time you wash. Reasons that you might adjust the auto dosing include wanting to use capsule or powder instead of liquid, white wash (if you normally have colour liquid), changing the fabric softener for certain washes or changing the dose to a higher or lower amount etc.

Each wash has a temperature range. You can mostly adjust down but not up which is a bit annoying if you feel a wash needs a bit of a heat boost. I thought the AI wash would be a good setting to use for most washes but it has a temperature range of 40-60 which can't be adjusted so not a setting I would use as clothes may shrink if it goes as high as 60. Even 40 might be too hot for some materials.

Quick Drive is good for small washes (under 4/5KG) but it's not available on all washes. Unlike LG, Samsung doesn't appear to adjust the time based on weight – i.e. the wash time is the same regardless of weight of wash.

Steam only work on some washes and there's no crease control option which is frustrating as the machine would be capable of using steam at the end of the wash to reduce creases.
