I know it is nearly winter, but this is a cool go-kart for £75 click & collect from Argos. You can get cheaper versions obviously, yet would they have the sturdy steel frame, bucket seat, and rubberised tyres? Maybe.

Looks fun to me anyway.

Race in style with the Spike Go Kart! With a striking red finish, the compact steel frame incorporates a handbrake for the rear wheels to assist control: speed is provided by a chain drive with non slip pedals and a freewheel function.

Go karting is an ideal and fun way to keep active!

The chain jumps of the pedal gears, as in, it does it every 5 seconds of pedalling. It takes a while to open up the cover, reseat the chain. Then rebuild the cover. 5 seconds of pedalling and it happens again.

I messaged the seller. They give a very condescending reply about how you should take a chain link out at my own cost.

The arrogance of how they’re still selling this, when they know it’s crap, is unreal and yes, Amazon never replied to my complaint!

I strongly recommend to stay away from this go Kart.

Read the amazon reviews. I wish I did.

Oh really? I thought they were rubberised. Damn.

My partner tells me plastic wheels are more fun as then you can skid, I was thinking rubber wheels would be less noise! Lol.

I received a Kettcar go-kart similar to this for my 4th birthday and had it for over 10 years.
I also learnt to j turn on mine
It had rubber tyres like this one which wore out after around 4 years but it carried on working on the plastic wheels underneath.
Eventually the welds broke loose but I bolted it to some wood making it a foot longer for a few years more use.
One of the best toys of my childhood.

For anyone looking for a quality go kart have a look at Berg go karts, various sizes up to age 12. These are the brand usually found in theme parks

Built to last, pneumatic tyres, adjustable seats and wheels on some models.

The only downside is the price!
But having said that the most expensive model goes from age 4 to 12 so definitely get your money's worth over 8 years!

I thought for a minute this was going to be perfect for us with the rubber wheels but after reading the questions they are plastic. Still a good deal though!
