Update 1
Use code SUNSHINE at checkout to get the OP price
I came across this all inclusive 8 night deal for Mexico Riviera Maya which I thought was pretty good for a last minute break at end of October, given that it includes 8 nights accommodation, all inclusive (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks), overseas coach transfers and direct return flights from Manchester with 20kg checked baggage each and 10kg hand luggage. Based on 2 people works out at £577 per person. You need to apply code SUNSHINE to get this price. You can amend it to include children if you prefer. The date is Saturday 30th October and returning 7th November. Average temp is 27 degrees. ATOL protected.

Catalonia Riviera Maya & Yucatan Beach Resort & Spa

A beachfront location, thatched-roof rooms, and acres of greenery – the Catalonia Riviera Maya & Yucatan Beach Resort & Spa offers a true taste of the tropics.

This beachfront property is haloed by tropical gardens. Among the greenery you’ve got five pools and seven restaurants, plus Caribbean-esque rooms dressed in warm terracotta and oak wood.

There’s a real castaway feel to the hotel. Thatched-roof buildings peek out from in between tall palm trees, and it all opens out onto a white, sandy beach.

What's included

  • Double Room with Garden View and Balcony or Terrace
  • All inclusive, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks
  • Overseas coach transfers
  • Direct return flights from Manchester including 20kg checked baggage each and 10kg hand luggage each

I drink my Smirnoff through a face mask. Tastes much better when it's 11 times filtered.
No joke- where I work they expect you to wear a face mask when eating. You're allowed to pull it down when you're putting food into your mouth - nice of them.

I have to wear a FFP3 grade mask and eye protection for most of my 12hr shift to protect from the dusty environment I work in, it's not really a problem. Its good some people won't travel because of having to wear a mask, it gives more availability for those that will. (edited)

Thing is the air in planes is very well filtered, as the air in the plane is bleeding in from the engines and must be filtered. It's recirculating continuously and passing through HEPA filters.

The risk of catching coronavirus is more about the mixing of people from different destinations rather than the cabin itself. Regardless please do wear a mask for the safety of others. (edited)

I stayed here on a holiday back in 2009 - a long time ago now but it was amazing. Couldn’t say if it still is but back then it was one of our best ever holidays and would totally recommend. Great food/ restaurant options and cocktails with the AI package. Colourful fishes for snorkelling right on the beach by the hotel!

Ryanair , easyJet , and even BA where not strict at all .

You may be wearing it incorrectly, it's supposed to go over your mouth/nose.😁

Yes but airlines are only required to pressurise the air to the equivalent of 8k feet. The vast majority operate at air pressurised to the equivalent of 6-8k feet. The dreamliner is the only exception, but even then it's still the equivalent of sitting ontop of a mountain, with lower oxygen levels. Unfortunately there's a limit to what can be achieved, given weight is an issue and any plane that could handle pressurising near whats normal for most of us wouldn't be viable.

That's why you often feel irritable, tired, slower thought process after a long flight. Your Blood Ox saturation drops during a long haul flight, which is not something most of us living near sea level have adaptations for.

Also since the air is taken from high altitude, it's also very dry. Relative humidity can drop to near zero for the majority of a long haul flight. Why you suffer from dry mouth, nasal passage, dehydration, etc.

Best advice if you suffer during long haul flights is hydrate well before the flight, keep drinking water and avoid alcohol.

I believe the FAA did some research and found the risk of catching airborne diseases like COVID was predominantly from the rows directly in front and behind you. Essentially no different then on a bus or train. Or from the desks around you if you work in an office.

I suspect the stipulation to wear masks is as much for perception of safety. To make travellers feel air travel is safe. Essentially to try and keep a flagging industry afloat through this pandemic. (edited)
