    I thought the same thing, I think it is one of those "if you need to ask then it doesn't affect you". For day to day DIY tasks then the 0.25mm run out on the standard check will be fine, for someone using this frequently looking for very accurate drilling then the upgraded chuck makes all the difference.

    Great drill press, managed to get it for £97 from tooed-up.com a few years ago!! There was a degree of chuck wobble that irritated me, so I upgraded the main spindle bearing and replaced the chuck for a Rohm Supra-S, and it's now rock-solid. (edited)

    Ref chuck upgrade - did you use 871038 SUPRA-S 3/8"-24 Quick-action Drill Chuck as sold by Zoro?
