Ordered thanks! Such a great deal for both!

Anyone know where to get cheaper hot chocolate sachets from?

    Thanks

A few suggested pendragon 1KG bags (you'll need to weigh it yourself), I've tried 1 and a half flakes and that was alright (break it up with a rolling pin in a bag).
I've done Bournville bars (grate it with a box or hand grater) was nice for a darker hot chocolate.
Now I'm going to be trying callebaut callets when I get my order delivered, big bags of essentially buttons that you can bash and blitz up, meant to be nice in the velvetiser.

does the podcycler come as standard as the product page shows a picture of it? also description of podster says 7 litre capacity makes 2 cups before refilling, that has to be a typo no? (edited)

    twistedanimator
Hah yes definitely a typo. It's 0.7 litre capacity!

I take it no free pods are included with the coffee machine?
    Una's avatar

No, comes with the pod compactor and the velvetiser comes with the 2 cups. But neither come with pods or chocolate

I'm guessing this bundle doesn't come with the 2 ceramic cups... Are they worth it?

Worked for me. Thank you OP I’ve wanted a velvetiser for so long but always held back due to price. This is a bargain

Not enough metal and plastic packaging for my liking. They could be putting each grain of coffee in individual pods, the machine could rapid fire an entire magazine of them like a minigun straight in to the sea. Hotel chocolat and nescafe got no imagination, eco zealots!

The podster stand alone was / is something around 90/100 ? Think is a great deal.

£149.95 before discount, though currently there's an offer of £100 voucher off. This offer however brings it down to £30 and Velvetiser down to £69.95

Total savings are £149.95, (119.95 off Podster, £30 off velvetiser) great in my book (edited)

Tempted after hearing it's a Nepresso pod

Cheaper, store brands work in this right? I got a Tassimo and it put me off way too expensive and It would only make like half a drink (edited)

Yes they do, believe aldi sell them, nespresso pods are the biggest manufactured pods if I recall correctly

Don't need either of them and still purchased it.

tbf I've thought about buying a Nespresso a few times when I've ran out of beans for my B2C machine.

    Good deal, heat added.

Looks like they're trying get rid of the coffee machines. I don't get the difference between their machines and any other capsule one?

Slimmer, it's a dualit product so it has good quality too. I mean at that price it's cheaper than any other nespresso pod machine you can get (edited)

Sorry for the many questions but...is this actually good for making coffee and hot chocolate? Do the pods start to cost a lot? How big of a cup can you make? Me and the missus usually have 1 large cup of coffee every morning (currently using sachets, kettle and normal milk). Wondering if this would make a good Christmas gift....(we also drink the occasional hot chocolate). Also, do any of the velvetiser match the coffee machine (I assume that's what it is), and if so, which colour (I'm colour blind...). Cheers

Coffee is the same as nespresso pod machines, there's different brand poss you use, some exepsnive some cheaper.
Hot chocolates taste a lot nicer from the machine, texture wise again you can get the expensive or cheap stuff I have tried bashing up my favourite chocolates 35g always gave me a nice smooth mug of hot chocolate, better than microwave stuff.

The coffee machine colour doesn't really match any of them it's a darker brown colour the closest in colour for the velvetiser would be the charcoal one (edited)

I purchased and will try and flog the pod machine for £50. I'll get lynched off the wife as we have a Dualit milk frother. Are the velvetisers basically the same as the milk frother ??
    Una's avatar

From my experience the texture and temperature is better but I don't have a dualit one just one from amazon that had good ratings

Any ideas / tips for coffee pods for the machine, and chocolate for the velvetiser please. The missus won't be impressed if I've got her this and nothing to make on Christmas day haha

You'll need original Nespresso compatible pods (doesn't have to be Nespresso brand, but has to be that size and shape). Long-term, you could look for deals on L'Or, but for quick delivery you could try Cafepod (don't expect much from their flavoured varieties, but the coffee is decent). It may just be best to check your local supermarket for any compatible pods to make sure you have something in time.
