sorted byJust to confirm, it’s £11.99 for the Xbox One version and £13.99 for the Series X/S.
If anyone previously owned FIFA 22 on the Xbox One before upgrading your console to the Series X or S, don’t upgrade from there, download the FIFA 22 Series X/S version from the store if you have Game Pass or EA Play, then do the in-game upgrade as per OP to get the Series X/S version. Otherwise you might accidentally buy the Xbox One version for your Series X/S. (edited)
Unable to purchase via Xbox Series S
Here's what I did:
1. Delete FIFA 23 trial if you have it. Also delete the saved synced files on the xbox. You can find these in the "Manage game" section
2. Download FIFA 22 from the Game Pass library.
3. Before you start it, go to "manage game" and then delete the saved files on the xbox.
4. Start FIFA 22 and then try to access the offer again
There is an asterisk next to Ultimate Team and below it says you need to purchase the full FIFA 23 to play that part.

I've changed mine but nothing has made any difference yet. I doubt it's an immediate change.
Any risk to not downloading it now though, obviously can’t install it on his console until Christmas Eve?
I didn't even need to pretend my credit card address was Hungarian. Just put my regualr UK address and postcode and it went through.
Unless you don't wanna do the hassle, then you can wait and see. If this deal goes away there's probably going to be a Christmas deal as well just maybe for a bit higher price.

If I buy this using my account, will my teenage son be able to use his account to play? I made a start earlier but it said games purchased can only be associated with one XBOX ID so got nervous! He won’t want to play unless it’s via his account
You can also use them on your own console as usual but make sure you don't activate 2 consoles as primary, it'll remove the first console, as only one is allowed at a time (edited)

If the 2nd console is set as the home console on the account you bought the game on, any other users/accounts using the 2nd console can use you the games/gamepass etc
It then didn't appear on my games list. So went to all games in the store, clicked on Fifa 23 and it started to download.

It was showing £29.99 for me also until I ran fifa 21.
Think I have enough backlog until this is free w/GP so I might wait but damn it’s tempting. If England win tonight, I’ll cop it 🤷♂️
However, I’m pretty sure this 40% discount isn’t meant to stack on top of the 50% sale price so I’d imagine someone at EA will be trying to get it removed or changed when they wake up and see a huge spike in sales at the reduced price.
Recently bought FIFA 07 on GameCube for not much less than this!
