The head teacher at our primary has banned costumes for WBD and has decided to make it all about books and reading again. It had turned into a fancy dress day putting unnecessary pressure on parents and children and taking the focus off books. Fully supportive of this and majority support from parents with just the odd few complaining.

Thank you OP. Was just going into Sainsbury’s and saw this. Worked fine at self checkouts, staff just had to come input something as it’s not a physical coupon.

They are usually is a hard to spot location in their own book stand. I have managed to get, on average 1 every other year for my son. Last year I got the last remaining title in store, then a week later he brought the same book home - school had some spare/left over ones.

It doesn't have to be the coupon in the slot. You can put ANYTHING (that fits) in the slot.

I remember it being £1 over 20 years ago, surely should now be a £2 book token.

I went to Asda this morning but they would not accept the digital form of the voucher saying they needed something tangible to place in the till!!

You should have gone to customer service or called manager they are lazy its same in most stores they have their own application with digital coupons too so their reason or excuse is a lie even though its not going from their pockets & its helping kids to read something new (edited)

If they thought about this carefully they would have more stock and locations like using libraries. Very hard to find each year. Usually manage to pick a couple from Waterstones if I'm nearby

In Asda the online voucher just works as a £1 off voucher and it can be scanned as much as you want!
