I got one of these from the last deal. The one with ethernet and HDMI with 4k60Hz (so presumably HDMI 2.0). I can't get it to play nice with my monitor, it just won't put out UWQHD at anything above 60Hz, which it should. Very frustrating. I have another much older USB-C dock with an HDMI 1.4 port and it manages UWQHD at 100Hz (well, 99.9Hz) just fine.

SO, if the hub you bought is a 4k60Hz why do you expect output over 60Hz?

Bought the 6 in 1 60Hz last time and it works perfectly. Buying another

I got one of these last time, overall I'm happy but there are a few quirks. Signal via HDMI drops sometimes, tapping the cable brings it back (so the cable could be at fault) and the 100W PD doesn't play well with my Dell laptop, the BIOS says insufficient power at boot. Once booted though it works fine.

Overall I think these are decent for the price.

Just received the 6-in-1. Not impressed, the ethernet is not working on a Mac. It lights up, but the Mac shows disconnected. I have 3 other hubs with ethernet, they all work out of the box with the Mac (one is Anker, one Tecknet, one chinese no name).

Damn, ethernet was the main thing I wanted to buy this for. Everything else is a welcome extra. Hmm

@sisqoboy do you know of any UCB C hubs that can daisy chain to multiple monitors from the one USB C port on a laptop (hub connected)? I am looking to connect a USB C monitor to the USB C port on the USB C hub and the other monitor to the HDMI port on the USB C hub.

Very good question. I was wondering about the same setup but still not seen any that would work that way. Never tried that. One thing is for sure, that type c port on a laptop needs to be superfast and compatible with that, if that is even possible at all.

would this work instead of a steam deck dock.? (edited)

    It appears so

What I need is 4K HDMI, SD card and USB C. Doesnt seem to be a combination available like this. Shame as Anker seem to have that combo but costs around £45.

Anker’s hardware is solid though and somewhat justifiably priced. Things like this I usually go with the Anker version if it’s important. They suck at software though (see their Eufy stuff).

Just ordered several Orico products - Type C hub 8in1, USB 3.0 Hub and NVMe enclosure for 33 eur - a bargain!

Thanks a lot for the find
    mjb152's avatar
Did you read the review for the nvme enclosure? Doesn't inspire confidence

Bought one of the 8-in-1 earlier for £12.99. Bargain

Cheers, ordered a 6 in 1 and few other bits for about £15. Brilliant

Any good for CCWGTV for power and ethernet?
  13. smaths's avatar
Thank you, I paid £7.06 which is by far the cheapest I have seen for a type C dock with ethernet connection.

Has anyone bought this recently? How long did it take to arrive?
    twistedpixel's avatar
Ah, AliExpress shipping lol. I’ve actually found it has improved in recent months. They changed something to do with shipping and now you get guaranteed dates on a lot of stuff. Sometimes you have to pay a couple quid more but usually worth it.
  15. misa426's avatar
That's definitely the cheapest I've seen for a 4K 60hz and ethernet included hub

100% it is! I was very close to buy because of that reason.

I ordered the 6 in 1 with the £8.43 voucher instead, by adding a £4 USB C cable, making the 6 in 1 about £11.50 delivered. Also worked with a £1 HDMI cable.

EDIT: changed as meant to write the 6 in 1. (edited)

Mind that, apparently, these do 4k@60hz only on Windows so no Dex etc

Is there a way to extend the short USB C cable? I have bought a couple of extension cables and neither work. Maybe you cannot use an extension?
  19. gtd65's avatar
Can you use any of these with a Smartphone?
    sisqoboy's avatar
    Author
Yes and No. You need to check the specs for your phone. IF the phone supports the protocol you want to use then the hub won't stop you doing so.
Most likely the video output won't work however using a flash drive reading a card should work in most cases.

Is this brand better than UGreen?
    sisqoboy's avatar

They make good quality products just like Ugreen. Prices when up with Ugreen recently just like Anker did that a few years ago...

Weird, am I supposed to create a new account? The moment I signed in everything became twice the price
Ah, I think I see, it has an additional "welcome deal" for new accounts... (edited)

yeah, new users have lower prices for first time.

The image shows that this is 4k at 30hz not 60?
    rev6's avatar
    Select the other then.
  23. YiannisF's avatar
Just to say that I just received the 4k/60Hz 100W version and it is impressive quality for the price. PD works well and all connections are as expected
  24. basil_11's avatar
Does anyone know of anything with similar price but with 2 hdmi ports?

Does anyone know if this will work as a Nintendo switch "dock"?
    EM2's avatar
Would not recommend using switch 3rd party docks as they can brick your switch
