    What purpose does the Bluetooth serve on this?

    It's main use, apart from setup etc is to sync the time on your watch 2ith the phone. This ensures that the watch is bang on time wise. This replaces the previous radio controlled sync.

    I have this exact version/color and it has been great so far. The LCD is actually visible most of the time and the illumination helps.
    I hate the app though and it has very annoying notifications on android if you don't keep Bluetooth on.

    Bought this on a previous deal for £77 , not the best colour but a steal for £72.75. Easy setup with the app and no connection problems. Only uses Bluetooth to update watch time then disconnects so no drain on your phone, charged mine when I first got it and it hasn't dropped below high since. If you buy make sure you use the Casio Watch app from Play Store, as for some reason Casio have at least three different G-Shock apps plus one for Edifice. (edited)

    Good to see the Bluetooth versions coming down at last, I just wish they'd reduce the og black & white one.
    I've got black & white, grey + display & the military green in the non bt but would swap them all for a solar bt in black & white. + display preferably.

    I shall disagree, the aesthetic embellishments are introduced with new versions joining the range. And the watch sees technical evolutions with the introduction of a movement equipped with the latest advances in Casio technology. Beauty in its essence.
