Decent price for the branded stuff, but as an FYI to your description you definitely don't want to be feeding tomatoes etc until they start setting fruit! Especially as most compost is already enriched (lasting around 6 weeks) you can often 'poison' young seedlings with a too high concentration of feed.

thank you! i’m finding peat free compost germinating ok but then seedlings failing… giving them a small feed seems to be helping but i’ll make sure i keep it well diluted! x

Perfect timing, thanks op.

I've learnt to use half a used toilet roll tube to germinate my seedlings, once the shoots are long enough, I just plant the whole lot in to the veg bed.
