Walk out the shop and you've lost 50% of your money on a Omega... Do the same with a Rolex from a AD and you've just double or tripled your money. Just a fact !

Did you know that 132% of comments on forums and social media that end with Fact are actually false?

This one is an example. The majority of people walking out with a Rolex won't be able to double their money, unless you are buying one of the really nice high end ones, and even then the market has softened.

You will still likely be able to sell it for more money but I prefer to wear my watches than sell them so I pick ones I like.

I mean, if you want to flex, you'd not buy a Rolex, you'd buy a more premium watch brand.

This is lovely, but not for me

Why anyone would be on deals site, if they can afford £7000 watch lol... 😃😃

EDIT: Sorry its not at all aimed at OP, just saying. So shouldn't cause any confusion. Thank you (edited)

Not sure I understand your comment. It's all relative. This watch may be the equivalent of buying a Casio for some, doesn't mean they still wouldn't want to get the best possible deal when buying a product.

What is it with watches and water? Why do they always go on about the depth you can go in one? Does everybody who has just paid £7000+ for a watch immediately head for the nearest sea for a dip. Maybe phones are next, iPhone 22 with 12 meter water depth guarantee so you can scroll insta from beneath the waves. Last thing I'd be interested in if I was in 15 meters of water is what time is it......just a thought

lot's of people pretending to have the financial clout to buy this watch. If you're on hotukdeals, you can't afford this watch.

'i've got the £7000 in my hand right now but the shade of rose gold isn't quite what i'm looking for' etc

I'm fortunate enough to be on a salary that's in multiples of 6-digits, but still love a bargain and love car boot sales and charity shops!

It blows my mind the amount of multi thousand pounds watch collectors we have on hukd. I know everyone likes a bargain, but I'm surprised such people would browse a site better known for deals like 40p off chickpeas and a box of magnum ice creams for £2. (edited)

But the people who pay below retail - at pre-inflation prices - for most things are saving so much dosh that they can afford to buy expensive watches

Is this battery powered or automatic? My current Omega's battery cost £90 about 5 years ago and lasted about 3 years..... now it's gathering dust (edited)

Great if you like that combination of gold and stainless steel, and have £7000 burning a hole in your pocket.

I saw watches as an investment. I’m watch collector and I have this same watch, but recent economic hardships are forcing me to sell my watches. (edited)

While a significant reduction from rrp, it’s only 38mm although the rose gold compliments the aesthetics. It’s a dress watch more so. Personally would go for a seamaster and/or speedmaster.

Its a colourway only a mother can love, nice price through.

With regards to "multi thousand pounds watch collectors we have on hukd", it comes up nearly every thread and does get addressed but for some, the answers don't quite sink in and the same questions/comments continue. For me, personally, I read HUKD because, like most, I do like to keep an eye out on pricing, its also good to use HUKD for historical price referencing, but, I think this probably applies to the "collectors" out there too, I read HUKD mainly because it brings to my attention products that are either interesting, talked about/reviewed or items that I do not know about. Whilst here doing so, when a watch thread pops up, given that its a personal interest, I like to dip in and take a look.

Be honest - it’s 38mm and bi metal
    It’s a loser - that’s why it’s in essence cheap
    Omega watches are very meh
If buying for investment Rolex IS the money maker - mainly the stainless sports models we all know - to put into context I picked up a Rolex sub non date for £7700 last month and have been offered five figures due to scarcity
It’s all relative - three year wait for mine - and you can’t get on a waiting list for one….
They play a very good marketing game of supply and demand - more smoke and mirrors than a morning tv presenter
