RESTED FOR 12 YEARS. This rum has been laid down in oak barrels for at least 12 years producing a rich and diverse spirit. Blended to perfection using a combination of the Enmore and Diamond Coffey Stills and the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still.
TASTING NOTES. On the nose this rum has spice, lush tropical fruit and hints of honey and dark sugar. On the palate the 12 year old is full bodied with a elegant and dry finish.
ARTFULLY BLENDED. Allowing both time and our unique Demerara climate to take their course, we lay down our oak barrels for decades at a time to imbue El Dorado with unsurpassed dimension and depth. Only when ripe with age are these precious rums then artfully blended, revealing their soul for you to savour and enjoy
RICH AND DIVERSE. Created on the banks of Demerara, our smooth and uniquely complex El Dorado aged rums represent over 300 years of Caribbean rum crafting. Faithfully continuing to use our original wooden heritage stills, we are masters in skilfully coaxing out rich & diverse characters from within the spirit. We are patient. Very patient.
A DEEPER COMMITMENT. El Dorado is on a mission to create the smallest environmental footprint in rum, this means taking responsibility for the way we source, distill and transport the world’s best rum. Our bio-methane plant converts our liquid waste from the distilling process to energy to power our distillery

To those mates who are "diplo" fans. First - which "diplo". Second - green diplo (I assume this is the right one) is simply syrup. Family reserve diplo is copmletely different stuff, but it cost around 50£. 2007 Diplo is great too, but it cost 100£.

El dorados 12, 15, 21, 21 special reserve all are better than diplos for real rum lovers. But 15 and 21 I would let "to breath" in order to be smoother.

Says you, stop telling me what I "should" like also what's wrong with it being alcoholic syrup that's what I like about it.

Also I'd like to know when you spoke to all the "real rum lovers" and collectively decided this fact as u seem to put it (edited)

Was given one as a present a few years ago. It's a very nice drop but not a chance I'd be spending £30+ on a bottle.

This is an excellent rum for the price, I can thoroughly recommend it at this price point. It’s a Demerara rum so bear that in mind, more of an unctuous molasses vibe. Delicious.

Diplomatico isn’t really a comparable tipple, it’s a different style - apples and oranges. I perceive Diplomatico as being a “starter rum”, somewheee you progress from, but I still have it in my cupboard for when I fancy a sweeter rum. Each to their own though, enjoy your journey finding your favourites!

The El Dorado 15 is also on offer at £41.15 with Amazon subscribe and save discount. I've tried that before alongside the 21 and marginally preferred the 15. The thing that puts me off buying from Amazon a little is the version they are selling is 40% alcohol whereas the 15 is normally 43%.
