Insane value. Like all problematic open-world games, the problems 'vanish' when the price is low enough.

Bethesda open-world games usually benefit greatly from running them on a much more modern PC than was available at launch. Load times may near vanish with flash storage. Lots of heavy mods become viable.

OTOH, Fallout 4 was the first warning of just how low Bethesda was falling under its management, and Fallout 76 cemented the fear. Fallout 4 recycles the assets and ideas of fallout 3 in a vastly less interesting way, and PC thinking dilutes the possibilities in the world.

Fallout 4 has weak combat and weak combat scenarios. Scripting is worse than Fallout 3, and the prehistoric engine is strained to breaking point. And it looks like things only get a lot worse with the endlessly delayed Starfield (there's a good reason Bethesda is scared to release that game).

Yeah it's a good game but I'm not sure if a lot of the changes from Fallout 3 and new ideas were actually improvements. They should have kept the karma meter from Fallout 3, I didn't like the changes to the dialogue choices and the new settlement building mechanics while a nice idea quickly became tedious and more effort than it was worth.

It's insane how much you get here. So much content and that's without even mods.

I think the biggest issue is everyone owns it now

Love this game. I rug glitched Sanctuary so much I couldn’t fast travel there anymore.

Awesome game, but the main campaign has a lame ending no matter what you choose.

Yeah, the watered-down choices were not great, but, this was the first 3D Fallout that was actually quite fun as an FPS. I also think they nailed the art style and atmosphere in this game, so it's just fun to roam around in. That being said Nick Valentine is arguably the best character in any Fallout game, so it has that too.

A lot of content for £7. Good idea to get it now in case any of those next gen upgrades to come pc as well, they might up the price.

Example of any other PC game that went up in price 5 years after release?

In my opinion, you'll never beat Fallout 2. I bought it on release and even now I play it from time to time.

I still really enjoyed 4, despite the flaws. When you add mods it's a cracking game.
