I'm sure this is a good price but their phones are going the wrong way for me - have the Note 10 Pro, and the dual sim + dedicated SD slot is ideal for me - camera is fine and I don't need 5G. I'm probably the minority end of the market but not seen anything to tempt me in the "note" series since the 10 pro.
    Deetea's avatar
I haven't found a reason to upgrade from Note 10 pro to the newer versions either. The one's worth getting are £300+ but I'm not interested in moving to a different range of phone. Note 10 pro/Poco X3 was the sweet spot for me.

As a side note (assuming Mi UK do not pull the offer) expect the Redmi Pad 128GB to be on offer for £134.50 / possibly £124.50 or £104.50 (£10 auto discount + MI2023 code) once 899 likes are reached - would start from 16th November and we all know these "like promos" are just a marketing ploy, it will always go on sale. There will be 300 units available.

Xiaomi UK have just updated the price to £239 before any discount can be applied (as of 08:23) which means this deal price is no longer valid.

Sorry everyone but you can blame Mi UK for that.

Same boat as others. Have been after an (unnecessary) upgrade to my Redmi Note 10 Pro but can't find anything that offers quite the same bang for buck.
    Wirral_guy's avatar
Same boat, I keep seeing these deals come out but my Note 10 PRO seems to still be there or thereabouts in the comparisons. We either got lucky with the Note 10 PRO or things haven't advanced much in the last few years (in this segment!)

How would this compare to my s20 fe 5g, would it be a downgrade?
    7777777's avatar
Yep, in most cases would be. Faster storage,usb-c 3.1, better water resistance, better gpu, better sound sampling sent to your heaphones. Samsung's camera is also better, 4k/60fps recording, perhaps installing gcam could close the gap, though.

On the other hand, Redmi gets newer bluetooth, more reliable side fingerprint reader, faster charging, bigger battery and probably, will be provided with software updates for longer, as the s20 support likely ends next year.
I am in the same situation, love my s20 fe SD but the battery life is nowhere near it used to be ,also no further Android updates, just few security updates left (edited)

Is this an upgrade to my iphone 13 pro 😃

Anything is an upgrade on an iPhone!

Poco x5 pro or redmi note 12 pro??
    Crossbow's avatar
Nothing much in it gsmarena.com/com…094, but the X5 Pro pips it for me with the better cameras (arguably†), Snapdragon SoC & the longer lasting battery.

†Cameras are probably better on this after reading this comment hotukdeals.com/com…451 (edited)

Does this phone show adverts in the main apps? Have heard bad things like that, but the price has me interested.
    Animal5865's avatar
They'll be a few but most can be removed.
  11. hypermind's avatar
I think i'll bite the bullet with this on Monday and upgrade from my Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Annoyingly it's not TOO much of a leap forward and like 4 generations on

    Heat added!

I also wonder what else at this price point is worth considering of similar or greater spec.
    Anyone have any insight? (edited)
    TimeZ0ne's avatar
Moto G84 is another one to consider as the price point
  12. DealDarren's avatar
Moto G84 available from Amazon for £200 with double the RAM and double the storage.
    hypermind's avatar
This is good to know! They're almost the same spec phones, just trying to figure out which comes off slightly better

I need to buy a phone for my sister, I’m an iPhoner - so am not too familiar with this. She has an ancient Samsung Note 3.
So wondering if this would be an upgrade? Thanks in advance.
    hypermind's avatar
Yep I'd say this would be an upgrade

Great price, was intending to wait for the 13 pro but now I don't know what to do !

Is this an upgrade from the redmi note 10 pro?
    Animal5865's avatar
Yes just by being newer with updates.
  23. edde's avatar
I was in 2 minds about this so just had a look and got the MI2023 code to work which brought it down to £199 but then there was a free back pack (not really bothered about) and also a set of Redmi Buds for £4.99 so I decided to go for that combination.
  24. one_eight_seven's avatar
I’ll take a F5 for that price but its not been in stock for like a month now!
    little_green's avatar
F5 for what price? wouldnt get it for near this even on offer if it was in stock
  25. DazLFC's avatar
Hi guys, is it worth upgrading from Mate 20 Pro to this? Other than 5G of course
    Crossbow's avatar
It's an upgrade in some areas, but downgrade in others - compare specs, size, photos here gsmarena.com/com…343

What camera sensor does this one have?
    Chz's avatar
50 MP Sony with IOS. On paper, very close to a Pixel 7. Though obviously with most camera work being done in software these days, it doesn't shoot anything like a Pixel. But it's a very good camera for the price, great low-light ability which is something the Redmi line was not previously known for.
  36. TimeZ0ne's avatar
This or Moto G84? They both seem to have their own pros and cons
    Crossbow's avatar
This for me if you're still trying to decide.

Got one a couple of weeks and the battery hardly lasts from morning till bedtime with normal use. Notably less than my previous Xiaomi models. Have I got a faulty unit or is this to be expected with this model?
    peakbear's avatar
You probably want to see what is draining the battery and go from there. Completely guessing but it is probably something that can be fixed fairly easily (once you know what the main problem might be)
  40. SPLE22's avatar
    Camera any good??
    7777777's avatar
If you find good working gcam should be, otherwise quite disappointing ,the hardware is very good, it's the software that let it down.
