31 quid overpriced for hiking boots ?
Please advise where you can get hiking boots cheaper than that, I'm all ears.

I think this is a good example of a brand that when you hear of it you think quality, but in reality, over the last few years it's more cheap tat. I've been growing in dissapointment with every purchase I've made over the last few years

I have a pair of reggata waterproof walking boots and not really very impressed by them tbh .
They started leaking reasonably quickly and the grip is terrible making them very slippery especially on wet mud but even on tarmac/ drain covers .
Although great price so worth a try at this price

I bought a pair of Regatta boots about 10 years ago and they were awful. Very uncomfortable to wear and the metal eyelet hooks for the laces broke off in a fairly short time. I'm not saying that this pair would be the same but I'd be wary of buying boots from this brand. Having said that though I've bought quite a few kids fleeces and hiking trousers over the years from them and always found them to be fine and great value for money.

The 'waterproof' property comes from a membrane sock - this material fails where the upper meets the sole after a surprisingly low number of miles, allowing water ingress along much of the top of the sole- ie., complete catastrophic failure of waterproofing.

Also the upper synthetic material stress fails around this time where the toe flexes the shoe.

In other words, fine for occasional light usage, but not serious work horse shoes in wet (even wet long grass) conditions (after isotex 'sock' fail). A good pair of trainers with all leather uppers would probably wear better. It's all down to how many good miles you think 31 quid should buy.

As an occasional wearer, I've found them to be fine. Still going strong 2 years on.

Lol at the idea that these were ever £120! £30 is a decent price for a pair of cheapo hiking boots though - they'll be fine if you don't hike very often but if you're a more regular hiker then it's definitely worth getting something more premium (that will last much longer and offer better waterproofing and breathability). To be fair, some of the cheap ones like this can end up being softer and comfier straight out of the box rather than needing to be "worn in" in the same way that some more expensive pairs can.

I expect Vibram haven't taken kindly to that Regatta badge on the sole - looks exactly like the Vibram one.

On average they sell for over £50 so yes, not £120, but this is the cheapest price for them

£3.99 to return unless you go the free paypal returns route. I might have tried a pair if they had free returns. Too likely to be disappointed. There doesn't seem to be such a thing as decent budget hiking boots anymore and it is hard to justify the expensive ones for kids that grow out of them so quickly

So why not use PayPal then?
