    I don’t know enough about rye or the regulations around this - I like it in an old fashioned. I’m just surprised that you can get away with calling it Straight Rye when it’s Straight Whiskey for sure but only 51% rye.

    Maryland style Ryes have to have a minimum of 51% Rye content. Pennsylvania Rye has to be made from a 100% Rye mashbill. That is why any Bourbon with a 51% Rye content can be called Straight Rye as long as it is age for at least two years.
