Currently reduced to £120 but sign up for their newsletter and use code NEWSLETTERSIGNUP for a further 5% off, making it £116. That's a very low price for a nice Seiko 5 these days. I think I'll go for the black version myself.

2 year Seiko international warranty.

Rubicon are a UK based watch retailer so fast shipping, returns available and no worries about additional taxes, duties or fees. In my experience they are good people to deal with too.

Cracking watch for the money. The stock images don’t do the dial justice: it’s almost a greyish black.
It’s actually 42mm case width and 22mm lug width (like the SNZG field watch) so on the larger side. Would also look excellent on a black leather or a single-pass NATO bond strap. (edited)

Thanks. Rubicon quote it as 40mm (about my maximum) so that's disappointing to hear though still not enormous by today's standards.

Yes, now confirmed it's 42mm - too big for me but still a sensible size these days of enormous 'wrist clocks'! (edited)

I've signed up for the newsletter hoping for some sort of discount to get this watch down to 114.00 (its showing as 120.00 on their site)
Any ideas on how long I'd have to way for the discount code? Or is there a different approach?

If you haven't already sign up to PayPal credit, I did this recently and got £20 off a watch. Then just pay the reminder off straight away.

I'm an Orient fan myself, how do these compare to Orient? Same parent company AFAIK, is anyone know? Not buying, just technically curious.

Seiko 5 is the budget version of Seiko, and this is the old range, not the new ones which are upgraded.
Seiko 5 is comparable to orient tristar, the old budget range of Orients.

These are good watches but I'd rather spend £80 more and get a new Orient. These not having sapphire glass or solid links lets them down

Nice design and solid movement, although I don't think this one hacks or hand winds. Shame about the folded link bracelet, which should never appear on a watch over a ton, IMO (or ever, actually), but easily swapped out.
