My partner and I could not understand why this film got so many raved reviews we found it dull and boring.

It's a drama, they are often slow in places, the films that often get nominated for awards are movies that are based around something that happened in real life and ones with good acting, but often slow as you say

Was decent enough film, thought it would have been better in all honesty

One of the most boring films ever. Overrated by a mile. Don't waste your time and especially don't waste your money

Thanks Barry, but let people make up their own minds.

I actually didn't click until the ending of the film, that the entire plot is a metaphor for the Irish civil war.

Everything that happens in the film, all the events, one side having done nothing, and the other turning against them, all representing actions of the war. And all these events are topped with the sound of the actual war across the sea, and one of the characters looking out across to it. Really clever film. (edited)

The film can also seem like an over-simplification and bizarre way of analysing the civil war - I didn't think it was great. Beautiful scenery though.

Great film (as are In Bruges & 3 Billboards). No way I'd fork out a tenner for it & no need to watch more than once (as with most films).
I couldn't even give away several hundred dvds and blu rays when we moved so not a chance I'm building up another physical collection.

I didn't even get on the blu ray train properly, had gone big on dvds back in the day, broke my heart selling them for a pittance of what I paid for them but physical clutter is all they were in the end

It was fine but I wouldn't be buying it to watch more than once. Better getting Disney plus for a month and cancelling the subscription for less than £9.99 if you really want to see this.

Enjoyed it, but be prepare for a very slow paced film where nothing much happens (kind of the whole point really).

Doctor I recently had an accident and lost four fingers on my left hand, will I still be able to write with it?Probably! "But I wouldn’t count on it.” 🤘

I watched this on Disney Plus. It was quite good.

But I was saddened to see Colin Farrell getting (and looking) old.

That guy used to be pretty dapper back in the day.

I guess Father Time comes for us all.
