The Japanese version on the disc pretty much a different film. Once it was turned in, the US writing team wrote what they thought fit the visuals. The American producer even implied that Hayao Miyazaki writes all his films this way, I.E. animates them first, then writes story and dialogue to fit, ergo; "all anime is 'dubbed'! " Complete nonsense of course, but i think they got cold feet when the Japanese version came in and was more than a little eccentric... That said; getting the Jojo's and Kill LA Kill guys in to do it, I'm not sure what they were expecting.

I echo many here, visually impressive and great art direction. But the story didn't gel with the visuals at all! it was said the Japanese animators didn't get the story script from DC till very late in their development cycle... hence it was like watching one film but with two different directors. don't get me wrong I love Batman and anime! and have watched all the DC animated movies along with 10 years worth of anime but the big bat and monkey robot fight at the end made zero sense! sentient bats? it just took me out of the story at that point and the last 20/30 mins I just couldn't wait for it to end. I'll give it heat for the price but 4/10 for the actually movie. FYI Batman under the redhood is still my fave Batman animated movie.

It's less Batman and more Power Rangers, geat for price but it was a horrible experience

It is an iTunes digital copy, sorry not download it yet, can't comment, but I have read the small print on the piece of paper that comes with it and it states "The Digital Copy includes a code redeemable for an iTunes video in HD". The code expires in 2023, hopefully I will eventually get round to download the copy (lol) . Hope this helped.

The only reason I stay with Google Movies is to gamble on that 4K upgrade coming along at some point. Can't say I've noticed particularly good deals at bank holidays. Black Friday last year was pretty good; hopefully it'll be similar next month.

The only decent deals are the bank holiday ones were we get TV box sets at better prices. Apple have been putting them to shame with movie deals. Tho apparently free 4k upgrades are coming soon to GPM. I'm sure this will benefit US users only as there are only a handful of 4k titles (Sony films) in the UK store but it might be a sign Google is going to start taking GPM more seriously! Also great effort from OP on the post!

I thought most of the newer animated features have not been great. This is the death of superman based on the new 52 'timeline' which has already been cancelled/ replaced. New 52 was a mixed bag but the only link to it is the character designs i guess. *i really enjoyed all the new 52 batman animated movies! Quite dark in some places!

Well, I reckon it's a good deal! Picked up a couple of 3D movies since I've never actually used the 3D on my telly. And adult or not, I, couldn't resist the BFG. Heat.

Wasn’t comparing the actual pricing to 4K, just using it to highlight that Blu-ray is no longer the best format these days and these prices aren’t all that, especially as the HMV offer has obviously a better selection. You bang on about Deadpool (and parallel worlds) but go and find 4 other Blu-rays you want in order to justify buying them as a bundle. As I pointed out (which you ignored) over 30% of these Blu-rays are under £7 if you buy them individually.

It is pretty clear what you actually said is you think blu rays / media in this format is not a good price 6 pounds when compared to 4k. That is simply not the case again this parallel world seems to be in effect because what you actually said and what you claim or think you said are not the same. Sorry but this is the point I disagree with that. 4k's are pretty expensive at this point when you can pick up a title like dead pool in this deal for 6 pounds compared to 19.99 for the 4k. So you save 14 pounds by the blu ray format I personally think that is a very good price compared to the 4k prices. I also believe this is in general would be true that blu rays at 6 pounds for the format when compared to the quality increase of 4k at that typical higher price is a great deal. I know it will be different from title to title but the object part of your statement I find to be a false one.

Exactly. This offer either needs to have a greater selection or a lower price. Amazon & co have been doing '5 for £30' for the last couple of years when the cost of blu-rays in general have been going down during that period.

I never said that you could get them as cheap or cheaper individually, I just said that at £6 a pop this bundle deal is poor value for blurays that aren't new or even only 6 months old. All of them can be found for under a tenner if you just take a cursory look around. As someone mentioned earlier, some of them are a fiver (or under) on their own. How can this be considered good value, if you end up paying more than you would do by buying them individually? Do an ascending sort on the prices and, out of 5 pages, it's a page and a half before the individual prices go above £7. Bundles like this are reliant on you finding 5 items you want, unless you can find 5 (from a very small selection, it has to be said) you'll end up just padding out an order just to save a couple of quid overall. A couple of years ago this would be a great deal, now it's a poor one.
