Oh I am laughing so much at VM right now. They rang me up with an offer to stay (I’m due to be disconnected on the 30th). Apparently I can have everything I have now... but for £9 a month more (£66.50 for full house, vivid 200 and an extra box). Told them no. I’m off to sky. They were confused as to why I didn’t think it’s a good deal. Why would I sign a contract to pay more for the same thing?!

Just a quick question, I've viewed my account and clicked on the offers and upgrades, there is an offer to upgrade to the Player Bundle for £3 per month on a 1 month contract. Surely the one month contract must be an error, or is this keeping the TV element is a 1 month contract?

I still haven’t had a call back but the email they did send, said they cancelled the tv and broadband but kept the phone line :/ I did say I wanted to retain my number but didn’t think they would keep phone contract running too!

The website and welcome email suggest you have to phone, but I went on online chat and they processed the cancellation there and then.

Thanks, I'll do that this week if I get no phonecall. Could you cancel talktalk online?

I got the 45gb deal if look its says lifetime triple data. I did think same at first but you do get the 45gb.

I added the £18 sim for 45gb of data but in the basket it shows just 15gb?

Possibly i dont know but if i do a speed test in my house on EE and virgin, the EE connects to studley and comes back at 35mb and virgin connets to virgin birmingham and has 70mb, the call signal has more bars to. Rarely do i see the ee with more bars its either the same as virgin or occasionally less so virgin either have their own masts in birmingham or its to do with the 800mhz like you said. But im guessing its the first as my virgin sim shows speed tests connecting to virgin birmingham

Could it be that your EE sim is connecting to the 800Mhz LTE masts that virgin can't use? the lower frequency travels further but has less bandwidth.

What was the LOL for ? If its because hes wrong then im afraid your wrong i have a dual sim phone with EE and virgin sim cards in and my virgin quite often has stronger signal and faster speed than EE, especially around birmingham as virgin have some masts that EE cant use

I was offered the same a week ago with £50 credit. I declined as last year it was £19 per month

Just had my 2nd call back from Virgin offering £24.00pm for the 100Mb broadband but without the phone line. I was paying £21.00 for both but now it looks like they wont budge. Black Friday is coming so I'll just wait a little longer and shop around for a decent deal.

the called me 3 days after and i said no thanks, then then called me again today (8 days after the last call with a much better offer)

When you give them notice how long before they normally call you? I'm due to be cut off on the 25th. I'm holding on waiting for b Friday deals to drop

I've tried...they wouldn't budge! Would be good to see if anyone can get them down...still a good price at £20.66 for 70mbps speeds!

Thanks for reminder. I'll be trying to get it cheaper, nothing to lose

Anyone renewing their contract once the 12months is up at £20.66? Anyone going to negotiate a cheaper rate? Be interesting to know if they can reduce this cost.

Yep, got that too. All I want from them now is WiFi calling

Anyone else on the deal get this? Just checked and my usual 30mbps download now reaches 55-60mbps. This deal gets better and better.

I went to Nokia n900 as Nokia failed to get the network effect with maemo. Would've loved to have had sailfish instead of android as one of our 2 dominant phone players but nice to see the phoenix at the end

No worries! Nokia support transfered over from Microsoft too, quite a good network of authorised repairers. Huawei and Xiaomi support seems to be a less afterthought of Chinese corps after taking your cash. On the other hand head office HMD is next door to Nokia Networks in Finland.

Thanks for that Sean, I've just reset his Huawei but if it freezes again we will buy the Nokia 5.1 thank you for helping me again

Any dual sim, Three & EE share most base stations, same with Voda and o2 (excludes London - Three and o2 are now in the process building out their own new London network and replacing BT connections at base stations) so it’s preferable to have one sim on each shared base station network (MBNL/Cornerstone) - forward both calls to the other sim incase of signal/issues. The x.1 Nokia range is a good bet I would say for dual sim - I would expect the new owners of Nokia brand licensing HMD Global have a good support in place for their first year or that would damage their investment of £300 million, and that was just the rights name purchase before they even spent a penny on actual Nokia mobiles! Foxconn own FiH mobile who make Xaoimi and Huawei mobiles, and R&D and make Nokia for HMD. Moto is (IMO) a dysfunctional brand of Lenovo, as it has 4 mobile brands ? You buy Motorola Mobile but don’t make it your main brand ?? Thus I expect support will be less. book a repair online - no faff they all all have entry, mid and high end phones but service and dual sim are priorities now - even Apple went that way with esim.

£48 cashback via TCB. But when the offer is selected on the Virgin site, a message states to phone Virgin on 789 from your Virgin phone. This is logical to verify being a customer but might not activate cashback ?

Downlaod Speed vary from location to location its normally between 12MB to 45MB per second. Its strange that my upload speed is often much higher than download speed. I never had issue with watching live TVs, downloading torrents and making internet video calling. I was on three unlimted data before and virgin appear same if not better than three

Beware , internet speed is very slow.

What speed to you get on the tethered device? Ie is it slower than the phone can achieve on its own. I’m going to try this in a 4g router as it’s way faster than my broadband. I’m a reasonably heavily user though, my pc alone has downloaded 100gb so far this month.

I get an average of 48mb but in my house i get 70mb

The VIP bundle and Full House sports bundle both have a free Xbox one S which comes with 2 games or £150 bill credit and you can claim up to £125 TCB.

Has anybody had an update on/received their console yet? I've been told various things by their support team, I've heard 5 days, 14 days and 45 days (I'm sure they make this stuff up haha), just wondered if anyone had any luck so far.

Worked fine for me too as others mentioned. Got a nice £110 pending in my TCB and an Xbox coming within 28 days, new equipment is all here and live already. Hope they don't miss me too much but the other half is enjoying being a new customer - or at least I'm enjoying it (lol)

thanks, called them up guy sorted it over phone offered early date to install 4 days before disconnection but i chose same day, sent me email of install date said i will receive other emails next few days and will get xbox 15 days after services active now that will lose my email addresses hassle of getting all changed (annoyed)

i had mine the next day (today)

This is the second one you have stated refuel that doesn't are you obsessed? It most certainly doesnt refuel in LAX virgin do not fly the 747 to LAX and why would they fly an hour passed vegas to refuel

Seriously have you actually looked to see what the dimensions of the hand luggage are. You'd have to be hopeless not to manage it. Many people fly for a week's business , it's the once a year traveller who can't get their heads around it.

Its no wonder they have to stop at LAX for refuelling (excited) (lol)

I use the VA flight a lot to Vegas from Gatwick..... Defo don't go east! lol , and it don't stop anywhere either! Its direct, with our average flight going out to be around 10hrs 20, and last week the flight coming back, we did in just over 9hrs....... £280 return with handbag on the date listed, or £340 with suitcase.... I've done hand luggage before, but means buying all toiletries in CVS which aint cheap!!! Good find, Heat added... Although, between Nov to Feb, those flight prices sound about right anyway (max £400)

The law may say 14 days but I recommend you avoid the nightmare you may have by attempting to cancel this - you may find they don't tell the truth and your stuck on a contract. Are Virgin deals misleading? The technical statements they make may be conditional if you read the small print, and my "unlimited" everything contract only deliverd unlimited BS they vomit when one points out service failures or things that were not agreed to. If you do sign with Virgin, RECORD YOUR PHONE CALLS. You will thank me for this. The promises made on the phone are to get you to onto a 12 month contract. Then credit reference agencies can be used to bully you into complying with the garbage contract they tricked you into signing. The ombudsman that deals with complaints about Mobile phones contracts is a joke and the reality, is Virgin has allot more experience in dealing with the Ombudsman than the customer. I strongly recommend you risk off this experience and avoid this company, and anything else with the Virgin Brand, as they are little more than sweatshops with a commercial Red Virgin wrapper and couldn't care less about customers or their credit ratings.

Virgin Mobile has been good for me. Signal was great at most places. Internet was there when I needed it. I changed over to EE as my employer had a big discount. Leaving Virgin Mobile took me 32 minutes. I wanted the Apple Watch also, yet the retentions agent assured me he can offer it me. Despite a basic google search with results to vm forums saying its not available with no plans to. The agent was blabbering some rubbish that I almost just hung up... Just worth mentioning. Its good but CS is awful.

Go through quidco for £48 cash back. Effectively bringing your cost per month down to £14 over the year. Making it a smoking hot deal.

It really does depend totally on your location. At work, I'm in WC2 in London. As I type, I have 3 out of 5 bars of a 4G signal with Virgin and I'm getting 0.44mbps download speed and 0.67 upload. Back home, in SW15 I get 35-40mbps download speed. I'd love Virgin it if I was at home all day. You do have 14 days to try out any mobile phone contract and can cancel the contract without penalty within that period if you're not happy and will be refunded any payment, so worth a try.

I used to use EE before The only pro about them is that signal was good. Apart from that they very greedy in giving away data. After 2 years they never gave me any good decent customer discount Then I moved to virgin last few years and to be honest they give me a lot of data to my needs and discounts etc more than a lot of Othery companys 3g gives data but there signal is not good.

has anyone got a screenshot which states the date/time? thanks

now they sent me this message: "Could you kindly send a screenshot, which includes the time and date"

It has tracked as £48 for me (now payable). So I raised a ticket with TCB. They are saying that they do not have any record of the £90 cashback offer. Has anyone got a screenshot that clearly states that £90 cashback offer for the £18 deal? I know there is a screenshot above but that says "up to" £90 rather than stating its £90 for the £18 deal.

For what it's worth, if anyone is in a similar position. I was billed £18.00 and then was going to be billed another £5.23 but they are going to refund me the £18.00 and not debit the £5.23. Good thing I called because I just assumed the £18.00 wouldn't be taken as cancelled the contract a few days after being emailed the bill stating that it would be taken out in 10 days time and just assumed that it wouldn't after receiving a cancellation email stating I owed £0.00

I've moved into my house which is a new build in the middle of an established road. When I do the postcode check on VM website, I have to click the 'can't find your address' bit before it shows up on the list. It then says that they'll be in touch as it's not available. However, the neighbours on that road next to the new houses can sign up straight away via the VM website? They do have VM fibre on the road but I don't know why these new houses aren't on allowed it. iPhone XR on Virgin Media - 15GB data w/no upfront cost £38pm - there are cheaper deals Virgin offer but this is the best I’ve seen with no upfront and plenty of data.

Yes. They are behind us. Because you had to have ordered online to collect in store. My local store and the four stores closest to me had all sold out on day of release. It wasn’t possible to order for collection.

Dude, if it was such a hot potato, then the fruit based company would have promoted it, but instead there were tumble weeds rolling past store fronts. Looks like the days of Fanboys Queuing to buy a phone are behind us.

3 years.....jog on. SIM free all the way, while you can buy from Amazon EU your handset.

No queues because it was sold out. Unless you had already ordered online and selected your 30 minute collection window you couldn’t buy one. Well, at the store I went to anyway. Online none of the 64gb were available for collection on day of release or in stock unless had ordered ahead of launch.

Get ready for 3 year contracts with 99% of deals now! No way would I enter a three year 38 a month contract on a phone that's out of date before I get home from the shop.

That is disappointing - particularly when you read examples from what others have achieved. There doesn't appear to be any pattern to what people are offered - long term customers can get poor offers and those in their first year can get a cracking retention deal (and vice-versa).

I did wait and received the call and they would move no further.

Got a phone call yesterday from retentions, offered me 200mb at £27pm and a £50 credit. Also wrote my last bill off. Happy with the offer so accepted.
